Soldiers In The Sideshows: The 409th Infantry Regiment In World War Ii, Nicholas Garrett
Soldiers In The Sideshows: The 409th Infantry Regiment In World War Ii, Nicholas Garrett
Master's Theses
In the European Theater of World War II certain battlefields or campaigns such as Operation Overlord, Operation Market Garden, and the Battle of the Bulge are core aspects of American memory. However, the men of the 409th Infantry Regiment of the 103rd Infantry Division do not fall into this image. This unit fought as part of the U.S. Seventh Army across eastern France through the Vosges Mountains, defended against the German Operation Nordwind and broke through the Siegfried Line into southeastern Germany. Though the 409th represents a small portion of the men of the 103rd, …

The Alienation Of The Follower And The Re-Establishment Of Himself In The Mu'llaqat Of Antara, Al-Harith, And Al-Nabigha, Abed Alkhaleq A. Esa, Mohammad B. Qadri
An-Najah University Journal for Research - B (Humanities)
The research reads the system of alienation of the subaltern in the mu'allaqat of Antarah, Al-Harith and Al-Nabigha, and the system of the subaltern’s reassertion of himself, and the arguments he presents for the sake of this assertion, this proof, assuming that the mu'allaqat, the subject of the research, are a cultural act whose authors aim at a cultural goal, and that the mu'allaqat have an implicit objective, systematic unity, no matter how different the poetic purposes differ in apparent system. Objective: The research aims to reveal the systematic tricks in which the subaltern practices his cultural action, and …

Our Town, Lynn University
Our Town, Lynn University
Drama Programs
Winner of the 1938 Pulitzer Prize for Drama. Described by Edward Albee as "the greatest American play ever written," Our Town presents the small town of Grover's Corners in three acts: "Daily Life," "Love and Marriage," and "Death and Eternity." Narrated by a stage manager and performed with minimal props and sets, the play depicts the simple daily lives of the Webb and Gibbs families as their children fall in love, marry, and eventually—in one of the most famous scenes in American theatre—die.

Everyone Brings Something To The Table: A Culturally Sustaining Analysis Of Teacher Candidates’ Mixed Reality Teaching Simulations, Erin Scott
Faculty Publications
Discussions of HBCU students’ content knowledge have centered around developing high impact, asset-based approaches to learning (Williams et al, 2022). So, HBCU teacher preparation providers (TPPs) can also focus efforts on culturally sustaining approaches to developing candidates’ content knowledge and researching how high impact practices, like teaching simulations, can help prepare candidates for classrooms. This exploratory case study uses critical cases (n=2); findings suggest candidates have a developing understanding of content, which forms a solid basis for increasing their knowledge. MRTSs are addressed as a potential high impact, culturally sustaining practice for building candidates’ content knowledge. Further, HBCU TPPs can …

Predictors Of Mystical Experiences In The Electronic Dance Music Scene, Cody Edward Lesniak
All-Inclusive List of Electronic Theses and Dissertations
The present study examined the nature and frequency of reported mystical experiences within the Electronic Dance Music (EDM) scene and the roles psychedelic and psychedelic-like substances, set, and setting play in facilitating these experiences. Participants were recruited using posts on a variety of EDM-related Facebook groups (EDM, EDM Universal, EDM Festivals and Raves, etc.) and Reddit threads (bonaroo, electricdaisycarnival, RavesAndRavers, etc.). Participants completed a self-report survey consisting of questions pertaining to their involvement in the EDM scene, motives for attendance at EDM events, motives for drug use, importance of the values of peace, love, unity, and respect (PLUR), the proportion …
