Augmented Reality Smart Glasses (ARSGs) allow users to engage in picture-taking and video recording, as well as real-time storage and sharing of pictures and videos through cloud services. Unlike smartphones, newer ARSGs resemble ordinary sunglasses, allowing for unobtrusive recording. Historically, there has been a great deal of interest in using basicmeasures of individual difference factors to predict future success in traditional sports. For instance, the National Football League (NFL) holds a scouting combine each year prior to the NFL draft during which a host of attributes about players are measured, from basic height and weight, to sprint speed, to jumping capacity, to strength. Even among an already highly selected group of individuals (i.e., individuals skilled enough to even be considered for the NFL), such measures have been seen to have some degree of utility in predicting future performance. Gender is often described as a social construct. This description usually contrasts social construction with other unchanging, unambiguous concepts. Through Chiara Bottici's analysis, I argue the concept of myth breaks us from this dichotomy. By understanding myth as the persistent creation of significance through narratives, we no longer leave myth to the ambit of untruth and unreality. Instead, we see myths as a way to direct people’s actions by giving them a way to see the world. By integrating Bottici with Merleau-Ponty's phenomenology, I argue the significance of myth occurs through embodiment by organizing gestures. These gestures form a system …

The following study explores the character types that have been historically available to Black actors in American theatre and how that representation enforced, resisted, or ignored stereotypes. To examine the impact of those roles on the performers who played them, I examine the documented approaches Black actors have taken to embody their characters, as well as my own evolving process used to portray the eight characters I have inhabited in my personal college performance career at Georgia Southern University. While earthworms have largely been studied for their role in eliminating toxic metals from soil, less is known about their behavior overall. Previous work from our lab found that a predator-like auditory stimulus (grunting) reliably induced fear-related freezing behavior (Worthen et al., 2024). The present studies further explore earthworm behaviors in response to audio-vibratory stimuli. In Experiment 1, we manipulated amplitude levels and speaker location to examine the parameters needed to reliably induce a freezing fear response to the grunting sound. Should individual tax data be public or confidential? Within the United States, secrecy has been the rule since the Tax Reform Act of 1976. But at three critical junctures—the Civil War, the 1920s, and the 1930s—Congress made individual tax records open for public inspection, and newspapers published the incomes of the billionaires of the time. Today, Finland, Norway, and Sweden all mandate significant transparency for individual tax information.

While offering flexibility and broad accessibility, this format raises concerns about replicating the emotional and social richness of offline events. This study investigates the motivations, experiences, satisfaction, and future intentions of Thai fans attending K-pop hybrid concerts via live streaming. It adopts the Uses and Gratifications Theory (UGT) and Expectation Confirmation Theory (ECT) as its framework. This thesis explores the everyday social integration experiences of Russian women married to Korean men and living in urban South Korea. Drawing on the theoretical frameworks of Everyday Multiculturalism and Multicultural Space Making, the study investigates how cultural differences are negotiated in daily life through practices such as language use, food preparation, parenting, household routines and everyday social interactions. Using a qualitative research design, a number of in-depth interviews and supplementary observations were conducted with interlocutors residing in Seoul, Suwon, and Incheon. This research examines the transculturation of Vietnamese K-pop fans’ practices through the case study of Call Me By Fire Vietnamese Version, analyzing how these practices shape domestic fandom and contribute to Vietnam’s entertainment industry. Using a mixed-methods approach (an online survey, twelve in-depth interviews, and digital ethnography), the research applies Transculturation Theory (Ortiz, 1940) and Participatory Culture (Jenkins, 1992, 2006; Jenkins et al., 2016) to conceptualize the show as a contact zone where global fan cultures intersect with local norms. The Value Added Tax (VAT) is a relatively recent innovation compared to traditional taxes such as income and property taxes. Nevertheless, it has been rapidly adopted across jurisdictions worldwide due to its efficiency and revenue-generating capacity. As a general consumption tax, VAT is levied on most goods and services. However, exemptions are commonly granted in many jurisdictions for reasons of social equity, economic policy, or administrative simplicity. This mixed-methods study explores how Vietnamese preservice English teachers perceive and practice Global Englishes Language Teaching (GELT). In Phase 1, 100 third- and fourth-year preservice teachers completed a 24-item perceptions questionnaire, and six of them participated in in-depth interviews. Mean questionnaire responses were at the “Agree” level (M = 3.52 on a 5-point scale), indicating broad acceptance of GELT while still revealing gaps in training and materials, especially in using English varieties, integrating intercultural communication, and implementing GELT-oriented activities. การสร้างสรรค์ตราสินค้าสำหรับป๊อปอัพสโตร์แฟชั่นไลฟ์สไตล์สตรีที่มุ่งตอบสนองผู้บริโภคในเมืองซึ่งโหยหาอารมณ์ความรู้สึกโรแมนติกในโลกสมัยใหม่จำเป็นต้องอาศัยการผสานระหว่างคุณค่าทางวัฒนธรรมกับความร่วมสมัยอย่างกลมกลืน งานวิจัยนี้มุ่งพัฒนาผ้าลายอย่างโดยใช้แนวคิดการปรับใช้วัฒนธรรมดั้งเดิมและนำเสนอในรูปแบบใหม่ (Cultural Reinvention) เพื่อสร้างความหมาย บทบาท และรูปแบบการใช้สอยที่สอดคล้องกับวิถีชีวิตปัจจุบัน รวมถึงต่อยอดศักยภาพของผ้าลายอย่างให้มีความร่วมสมัยและเข้าถึงกลุ่มผู้ใช้ยุคใหม่ได้มากขึ้น กระบวนการวิจัยได้มีการศึกษาแนวคิดการการปรับใช้วัฒนธรรมดั้งเดิมและนำเสนอในรูปแบบใหม่ (Cultural Reinvention) ร่วมกับการศึกษาออกแบบลวดลายไทยและศิลปะไทยร่วมสมัย การออกแบบเครื่องแต่งกายและสินค้าไลฟ์สไตล์ ตลอดจนการทดลองเทคนิคการอัพไซคลิ่ง (Upcycling) จากเศษผ้าที่เหลือจากการตัดเย็บเพื่อนำกลับมาใช้ประโยชน์ในสินค้าใหม่ นอกจากนี้ยังศึกษาพฤติกรรมและความต้องการของกลุ่มผู้บริโภคคนเมืองผู้โหยหาอารมณ์โรแมนติก (Modern Romantic) ผ่านแบบสอบถามจำนวน 30 คน การสัมภาษณ์เชิงลึก (In-depth Interview) และการเก็บข้อมูลรูปแบบการแต่งกายของกลุ่มเป้าหมายด้วยวิธีการเปเปอร์ดดอลดาตา (Paperdoll Data) เพื่อวิเคราะห์รูปแบบ สัดส่วน โครงร่างเงา และโอกาสใช้สอยของผลิตภัณฑ์ ผลการวิจัยพบว่า (1) การออกแบบลายไทยรูปแบบใหม่ที่เข้าใจง่ายและสะท้อนความหมายร่วมสมัยควรใช้รูปทรงสิ่งของ ดอกไม้ สัตว์ และรูปทรงเรขาคณิตต่าง ๆ รวมถึงแรงบันดาลใจจากสไตล์ตะวันตกควบคู่กับลายไทยที่ผ่านการลดทอนรูปทรงและจัดองค์ประกอบที่กระจายขึ้น (2) รูปแบบเครื่องแต่งกายที่ตอบโจทย์กลุ่มผู้โหยหาอารมณ์โรแมนติก (Modern Romantic) คือ แบบที่สวมใส่ง่าย ใช้ได้หลายโอกาส โดยเฉพาะงานลำลองกึ่งทางการหรือโอกาสทำงานทางธุรกิจ (Business and Casual Party) (3) การพัฒนาสินค้าไลฟ์สไตล์ให้เหมาะสมสำหรับการจัดจำหน่ายในรูปแบบร้านชั่วคราว (Pop up Store) และเชื่อมโยงกับกิจกรรมภายในร้านเป็นองค์ประกอบหนึ่งเพื่อดึงดูดลูกค้า และสร้างประสบการณ์ให้กับลูกค้ากลุ่มเป้าหมาย (4) แนวทางการสร้างสินค้ากลุ่มตลาดเป้าหมายอยู่ในระดับ B+ และ (5) การทดลองกระบวนการ Upcycling ชี้ให้เห็นว่า สินค้าที่เหมาะสมควรคงลวดลายผ้าไว้ชัดเจนและสามารถประยุกต์ใช้ได้หลากหลาย เช่น ผ้าพันคอ โบว์ สายผูกเอว และเข็มกลัด เป็นต้น

สารนิพนธ์ฉบับนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อจัดทำประมวลศัพท์เรื่องกาแฟพิเศษ โดยรวบรวมคำศัพท์ที่เกี่ยวข้องกับกระบวนการแปรรูปกาแฟ การคั่วกาแฟ การบดกาแฟ การชงกาแฟ ตลอดจนการประเมินคุณภาพกาแฟ จุดมุ่งหมายหลักคือเพื่อศึกษาทฤษฎีทางศัพทวิทยาที่เกี่ยวข้อง รวมถึงระเบียบวิธีและกระบวนการจัดทำประมวลศัพท์ พร้อมทั้งจัดทำประมวลศัพท์เรื่องกาแฟพิเศษอย่างเป็นระบบ เพื่อให้ผู้ที่เกี่ยวข้องในศาสตร์กาแฟพิเศษ รวมถึงผู้ที่ทำงานด้านกาแฟ นักแปล ล่าม และผู้สนใจสามารถนำประมวลศัพท์นี้ไปใช้เพื่อการอ้างอิงได้ในการจัดทำประมวลศัพท์นี้ อาศัยการศึกษาและนำทฤษฎีทางศัพทวิทยาและแนวทางการจัดทำประมวลศัพท์ของนักศัพทวิทยาหลายท่านมาปรับใช้ โดยกระบวนการทำงานแบ่งออกเป็น 5 ขั้นตอนสำคัญ ได้แก่ (1) การกำหนดหัวข้อ ขอบเขตของการวิจัย กลุ่มเป้าหมาย และวัตถุประสงค์ในการจัดทำประมวลศัพท์ (2) การศึกษาทฤษฎีและระเบียบวิธีในการจัดทำประมวลศัพท์ (3) การรวบรวมและศึกษาข้อมูลเกี่ยวกับกาแฟพิเศษเพื่อนำมาจัดทำคลังข้อมูลภาษาและคัดศัพท์จากคลังข้อมูลภาษา (4) การกำหนดมโนทัศน์สัมพันธ์ระหว่างศัพท์ที่คัดเลือก และ (5) การจัดทำบันทึกข้อมูลศัพท์เบื้องต้นและบันทึกข้อมูลศัพท์เพื่อนำเสนอศัพท์เทียบเคียงในภาษาไทยผลลัพธ์ของงานวิจัยนี้คือ ประมวลศัพท์เรื่องกาแฟพิเศษซึ่งประกอบด้วยศัพท์ทั้งหมด 37 คำ โดยนำเสนอเป็นกลุ่มมโนทัศน์สัมพันธ์และลำดับของมโนทัศน์สัมพันธ์ โดยการนำเสนอแต่ละศัพท์ประกอบด้วยศัพท์ภาษาอังกฤษ ศัพท์เทียบเคียงในภาษาไทย คำนิยาม ประเภททางไวยากรณ์ หมวดหมู่ บริบทอ้างอิงที่พบศัพท์ดังกล่าว มโนทัศน์สัมพันธ์พร้อมประเภทของความสัมพันธ์ รูปทางภาษาอื่นของศัพท์และข้อมูลอ้างอิง เพื่อให้เห็นลักษณะและความสัมพันธ์ ตลอดจนรูปแบบการใช้ของศัพท์ดังกล่าวอย่างชัดเจน อันเป็นประโยชน์ต่อการใช้ศัพท์เฉพาะในเชิงวิชาการและการสื่อสารในแวดวงได้อย่างถูกต้อง

This research examines the visual homogenization of music video (MV) production among Southeast Asian girl groups under K-pop's influence—a phenomenon termed K-popization—to elucidate its localization processes within this complex, multi-layered region. This study employs the Situationist strategy of dérive and drawing as research tools to examine the everyday practices and spatial characteristics of Bangkok’s streets under conditions of governance ambiguity. Taking the area around Nana BTS station as a case study, the research identifies seven activity nodes formed through the aggregation of everyday practices. Through repeated path observations at different times of day, it traces the processes by which street users and vendors gather, negotiate, and interact, thereby revealing distinctive spatial patterns and rhythms of use.
