She currently lives and works in Provo, Utah, while also attending Brigham Young University, where she will receive her bachelor’s in art with a minor in art history. His debut collection of essays, Holy American Burnout!, was published by Split/Lip Press and was a finalist for the 2024 CLMP Firecracker Award in Creative Nonfiction. He received his MFA from the University of Alaska—Fairbanks, where he served as the editor-in-chief of Permafrost Magazine. Now he serves as an assistant nonfiction editor at Terrain.org. This study examines the relationship between multiracial identity and social interaction anxiety among emerging Asian American adults. Specifically, it explores the moderating role of self-esteem and potential gender differences in these relationships. Multiple regression models and independent samples t-tests were used to analyze data from 139 multiracial individuals with Asian heritage (Mage = 19.95, 79.13% female) aged 18 to 29. The results indicated that while multiracial identity integration (MII) was positively associated with social interaction anxiety (SIAS; B = 0.843, p = .010), it was not significant and self-esteem (RES; B = 0.036, p = .899) did not significantly moderate …

Latina young people report high levels of mental health problems and low levels of helpseeking

compared with their white peers, but little research has examined factors influencing

their mental health views. Inductive analysis of 25 participants’ narratives revealed that Latina

young people described three stages in the development of their mental health-related beliefs,

attitudes, and behaviors: undergoing a process of family mental health socialization, suffering

in silence, and attaining a new perspective. Within each of these phases, participants shared

stories that attest to their agency and resilience. This research uncovers a novel theoretical

online publications combining artwork and

text) as culturally tailored health communication tools,

this article examines the acceptability and impacts of two

digital zines about mental and sexual health created by

Latina young people for Latina teens as a health communication

strategy. We conducted an anonymous online

survey completed by Latina teens who read the zines (32

for sexual health and 33 for mental health). Data analysis

Multiple, convergent risk factors place Latina youth at disproportionate risk for mental

and sexual health issues. Yet, their firsthand perspectives and experiential knowledge of

how to navigate mental and sexual health challenges is rarely the subject of scholarly

inquiry. This article presents a multi-modal content analysis of themes and messages

conveyed by two digital zines created by Latina young adults for Latina teens through an

arts-based research project. In this arts-based research, zines functioned as both data and

This exploratory study investigates how integrating distance learning technologies within the U.S. Army impacts enlisted soldiers in terms of implementation, usability, and long-term career mobility. With internet-based education, active-duty enlisted personnel can pursue academic degrees from accredited military-affiliated institutions while simultaneously fulfilling operational duties, deployments, and daily training. The dramatic British election of 1945 and an unlikely best-seller on economic philosophy provides the setting for a respectful conversation, rather than an acrimonious debate, between two long-time colleagues of the London School of Economics, the economic theorist F.A. Hayek and the economic historian R.H. Tawney. Their dialogue highlights divergent approaches to key moral issues embedded in economic thought, including the nature of freedom, the role of the state, and the reasons for poverty. Nemes correctly identifies the key difference between Protestantism and its Catholic and Orthodox siblings as not being about justification, transubstantiation, or the Marian dogmas, but as rooted in the question of theological authority: are there individuals or groups in the church who have “the standing to tell other persons (not) to do or believe something for the sake of friendship with God” (xiii)?
