This poster analyzes Bill Clinton's late given apology for the unethical nonconsensual syphilis study done on a group of African American men in secret for years. It looks at what makes an apology successful and whether or not the apology given by former President Bill Clinton was enough. The poster also briefly talks about the aftermath of this experiment, which has lasting effects even today.

Christian discipleship is on the decline in the United States, according to the Barna Group.¹ The Barna Group “identified Christians who were both being discipled and discipling others as those who are fully engaged in discipleship community. Just over one in four U.S. Christians (28%) fall into this category. Another 28 percent are being discipled but are not helping others grow closer to Christ”.² A contributing factor is that the churches in this study do not appear to be effectively leveraging information and knowledge systems to aid with ministry decisions. It then examines how the candidates' different backgrounds influenced their rhetoric and use of dog whistles, especially through socioeconomic, racial, and gendered lenses.

Grave of the Fireflies, directed by Isao Takahata, focuses on the impact of war on innocent civilians, specifically children, rather than on battles or acts of heroism. The film establishes a tone of powerlessness from the start. This poster examines the symbolism of fireflies in the movie and the destruction of innocence throughout the movie. The film reflects the childhood trauma of both the movie's writer and the director.

Hayao Miyazaki’s Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind is a philosophical exploration of fulfillment, rooted in Buddhist and Taoist principles. The film contrasts the destructive forces of greed and individualism, embodied by Kushana and the Tolmekians, with the harmonious collectivism of the People of the Valley of the Wind. Nausicaä, the film’s heroine, challenges traditional gender norms by being a strong, selfless leader who seeks peace and balance rather than power. Broadway music is widely known for its heavy emphasis on storytelling, which goes beyond lyrics or on-stage actions but into the musical construction and development in itself. Such music has historically impacted the orchestral scene across the world, but also at a local level in Gettysburg College and its ensembles. The Gettysburg College Concert Band is a significant reflection of the College’s musical culture, which can be observed through the repertoire of their performance that took place on April 30, 1977.

On June 8th, 1917, United States flags fell from the Virginia Monument at Gettysburg, revealing to the public eye for the first time the famous equestrian statue of Lee. But while battlefield monuments may appear stately and precise, behind every monument is a messy story where the message of the monument outweighs its historical accuracy. The story of the Virginia Monument, unveiled just months after U.S. involvement in WWI, is no exception as two monument commissions fought to control the narrative of the Civil War on the field of its bloodiest battle.

There are many definitions of water baptism. A definition that is like the Biblical form of baptism and the context of this essay is the immersion or ‘dipping’ into a body of water. In the Christian church, this is viewed as a ceremonial ritual mimicked after the event when John the Baptist baptized Jesus in the Jordan River (Matthew 3:13-17, Mark 1:9-11, Luke 3:21-22, John 1:29-34). In some ecclesial settings, the water is lightly sprinkled on the person’s forehead.

Motherly guilt and anxieties about reproductive choices are often a significant source of psychological trauma in women who decide to have a child after being diagnosed with breast cancer (BC), but these themes are less visible in breast cancer memoirs. Patriarchal societal norms about women’s roles have long influenced women’s ideas about their bodies and motherhood.
