This study conducts an exploratory data analysis (EDA) of topic modeling and sentiment analysis applied to the Septuagint (LXX – the Greek translations of the Old Testament and the New Testament in the original Koine Greek) as well as four English translations of the Bible (LSV, Darby, DR, and KJV). Utilizing Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) for topic modeling, I compare the Vulgate-based translations to Septuagint-based translations, discovering marked differences between the two categories of translations. The Vulgate is the Latin translation of the Bible done by Jerome in 900 A. D. which is already one step away from the original …

Scraping Sermonsusing Natural Language Processing To Compare Protestant Churches, Annalia Fiore

This project compares sermons from three Christian traditions: Evangelical, Charismatic, and Reformed. Using data scraped from church youtube channels based in the Columbus, Ohio area, I ran thousands of sermons through Topic Modeling to evaluate the differing emphases of each tradition. Many of the topics corresponded with what we might expect from their respective tradition. But others were surprising. Most significantly, there was a strong emphasis within the Charismatic tradition on tithing and finances, concerns with resisting sexual temptation among the Evangelicals, and a focus on ecclesiology within the Reformed tradition. The Role Of Organizational Culture And Pastoral Leadership In Sustainable Church Outreach: A Multisite Mini-Ethnographic Case Study, Althea P. Gordon-Scott

This study examined the role of organizational culture and pastoral leadership in sustainable church outreach programs. Two churches were chosen for this multisite mini-ethnographic case study because, for multiple years, they have participated in multiple outreaches each week to their non-Christian neighbors. These two churches differed in terms of geographical location, size, demographics, and budget. Data collection included field observations, semi-structured interviews, focus groups, and document analysis. The themes that surfaced from the data were altruistic foundations, relational equity, organizational agility, organizational challenges, exemplary pastoral leadership, and the centrality of God. This essay explores Antoine-Claire Thibaudeau, a revolutionary who opposed Napoleon's autocratic ambitions yet actively contributed to his empire. Through Thibaudeau's memoirs and other sources, it argues that his ideological resistance gave way to reluctant collaboration, driven by the futility of opposition. His story reveals the complexities of dissent and compliance within Napoleon’s rule, challenging the notion of uniform elite support for the empire.

The paper examines the contrasting approaches of Germany and Korea in handling co-ethnic repatriation during the early Cold War era (1940-1950s). Focusing on Germany’s Federal Expellee Law of 1953 and Korea’s absence of formal policies for Korean-Chinese immigrants, the paper illustrates how colonial histories influenced their respective ethnic projects and provides a nuanced understanding of how repatriation policies are shaped by historical and political contexts.

This study examines the implementation of the Da Vinci AI Tutor, an innovative artificial intelligence (AI)-based tutoring platform designed specifically for enhancing personalized and accessible learning in art history within higher education. Launched in Fall 2024 at a private liberal arts institution in the Midwest, the system integrates a conversational AI avatar modeled after Leonardo da Vinci, incorporating immersive virtual reality environments and multimodal interaction capabilities to engage students across undergraduate survey courses, advanced Renaissance classes, and graduate comprehensive exam preparations. Chile: Cultural Identity, Social Justice, and Community Development

Chile is home to the largest Palestinian diaspora community outside of the Arab world. This cultural presence is heavily reflected in Chile’s visual culture, particularly through politically charged street art. This paper contextualizes the history of the Palestinian diaspora in Chile as well as evolution of muralism as a political tool in the country to analyze how Santiago’s contemporary street art expresses solidarity with the Palestinian struggle for territory and self-determination. While pro-Palestinian art is gaining recognition in the Chilean academic sphere through gallery and institutional spaces, street art remains significantly underrepresented. Studio 201: Design Process is a year 2 design studio module which looks to teach students the iterative design process and is typically structured around active learning and problem-solving in physical studio spaces. Historically the primary learning occurred during a 4hour studio session with an additional 2-hour supervision session occurring later in the week. For the 2024-2025 academic year this model was flipped with active studio activities taking the whole of the early week, 4-hour session and the more theoretical and knowledge transfer activities occurring in the shorter session via Hyflex delivery. Netherlands: International Perspectives on Sexuality and Gender

This paper explores how the Rijksmuseum is practising decoloniality and to what extent it is sincere. Through evaluating exhibitions, curatorial choices, and community engagement, I examine how the museum navigates questions of colonialism, responsibility, and representation. Ultimately, while there have been clear efforts to engage with decolonial practices, such as rethinking the labelling of artworks and creating space for previously ignored narratives, these changes also highlight the challenges of making meaningful steps forward within the dominant structures and frameworks that reinforce the colonial narrative. Netherlands: International Perspectives on Sexuality and Gender

The Amsterdam Jewish Museum’s exhibit “Sex: Jewish Positions” creates a crucial space for modern art to reflect, comment, and expand on ancient Jewish rituals. One such ritual is the ideologically fraught space of the mikvah: a Jewish bath house for spiritual cleansing. This ritual deals with the abject Menstrual Other who is both unclean and infectious, but also spiritually elevated. The Menstrual Other is cleansed by the mikvah and then brought back into society via prescribed but pleasurable sex.
