The study aimed to identify effective leadership styles that enhance school happiness among male and female teachers in general education schools in Hafr Al-Batin Governorate, adopting a qualitative approach based on grounded theory. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with a purposive sample of 45 teachers, ensuring diversity in educational stage and years of experience, during the first semester of the academic year 1447/2025. This essay explores the figure of the tragic mulatta in Lydia Maria Child’s The Quadroons and Dion Boucicault’s The Octoroon, analyzing how mixed-race female characters critique the racial and gender hierarchies of 19th-century America. Using an intersectional lens, it examines how race, gender, and class shape the identities and tragic fates of Xarifa and Zoe—women who were socially excluded from both Black and White communities. Responding to concerns about the long-term value of foreign language education, this exploratory survey-based study examines how Russian language learners (N = 321) continued to use the language after completing a summer immersion program. The study investigates language use in personal and professional contexts and identifies resources alumni used, recommended, and needed to maintain proficiency. Although opportunities for conversational practice were limited, and interaction in Russian was one of the activities alumni needed but often viewed as unattainable, about 60% of participants continued using Russian at least occasionally. Drawing on the experience of a U.S. Russian Flagship Program, the authors argue that career readiness requires deliberate programmatic choices: a proficiency level sufficient for meaningful disciplinary engagement and study abroad immersion; a flexible open-architecture curriculum that admits interdisciplinarity into the core of the program; faculty preparation that makes embedded career advising possible; and institutional partnerships that give language work standing in professional contexts. This study aims to examine the presence of coloniality in the film The Fever (A Febre), directed by Maya Da-Rin, while also addressing linguistic aspects, particularly the interplay between the indigenous Tukano language and Portuguese throughout the narrative. It further explores the relationship between language, identity, and culture. The analysis is grounded in the theoretical frameworks of Carey-Webb (2024), Quijano (2007), Kaká Werá (1998), Othero (2017), Karnal (2024), Bourdieu (1991), and Maher (2010).
