Variation Of Chemical Properties Of River Water In Al-Rumaitha District And Its Impact On The Variation Of Wheat And Rice Crops Using Geographic Information Systems, Saud Abdul Aziz Al Shaaban, Faisal Lafta Al-Jiashi
Uruk Journal of Human Sciences
The importance of studying the chemical properties of water is crucial to knowing the concentration of each property and its impact on crop cultivation. This study was conducted to determine the extent of the impact of increasing the concentration of some chemical properties of river water in Al-Rumaitha district on wheat and rice crops. To achieve this, samples of river water in the study area were taken and analyzed in the laboratory. The study revealed variations in wheat and rice crop cultivation, which was linked to variations in the concentration of chemical properties of river water.

Qualitative And Seasonal Assessment Of The Waters Of The Tigris And Euphrates Rivers In Maysan And Dhi Qar Governorates, Kazem Shanta Saad
Uruk Journal of Human Sciences
The issue of identifying the physical, chemical and biological properties of river water has become of utmost importance at the present time for two reasons. The first is that determining these properties with the required digital accuracy has a close and direct relationship with the suitability of this water for various human uses, whether for drinking, irrigating agricultural crops, industrial uses, or even for drinking by domestic animals. The second aspect is that river water acquires many of its different properties as a result of various human activities. This means that river courses no longer flow in their natural form …

Strategic Dimensions Of Nagorno-Karabakh Independence, Fayan Ahmad Muhamad Mahmud Lawindad
Uruk Journal of Human Sciences
The Nagorno-Karabakh crisis before the collapse of the Soviet Union was not an international crisis, but rather an internal affair of the Soviet Union. However, the Armenian side at that time focused on the term “self-determination.” This term at that time was not in the same international framework as the right to self-determination, but in the Leninist concept of the principle of the right of peoples to self-determination, which was established by the founder of the Soviet Union, V. Lenin. However, the Leninist right to self-determination differs from its counterpart under modern international law in practical reality. Priority always goes …

Health services are defined as the sum of services provided to prevent the risks of disease. These services include all medical, administrative and technical requirements such as health centers, private clinics, hospitals, pharmacies, laboratories, ultrasound and radiology. The aim of the research is to study the efficiency of health services in Al-Wurka District, then identify the most important geographical factors affecting the distribution of health institutions and indicate the future need for health services. These services are then measured and compared with local and international standards. The analytical geographical approach was used to study many of the developments and variables …

Three Economic Texts From Tell Abu Anetik, Walid Saadi Mohammed
Uruk Journal of Human Sciences
Abu Anteek is the name given to it by the inhabitants of the surrounding areas, which may be a corruption of the English word Antiquity, meaning old , or it may be derived from the colloquial word Antik, which is used by the people of the south to express archaeological finds. The ancient name for Abu Anteek is Pikasi -Pi (KA) -ka siki, which means the mouth of the cup . Abu Anteek is located in the border triangle that connects three governorates: Al-Qadisiyah, Babylon, and Najaf. Administratively, the site belongs to Al-Qadisiyah Governorate, and is about 50 km south …

Andalusian City Of Tudela (94-511 Ah / 712-1117 Ad), Jassim Yassin Al Darwish, Hussein Jabbar Al-Aliawi
Uruk Journal of Human Sciences
The city of Tudela is located in the upper Andalusian border, north of the city of Zaragoza. It was conquered by the leader Musa ibn Nusayr in the year 712 AD, and many Arab tribes settled there since then. The city gained its importance because it was a border area adjacent to the Christian Spanish states, which made it an arena for the Islamic-Christian conflict. Despite this, Islamic rule continued for about four centuries, as it fell into the hands of the Christians in the year 1117 AD. The research dealt with the historical geography of the city of Tudela …

The Tools Of Reasoning On Which Jurisprudence Relies In The Legitimacy Of The State, Salam Razzaq Hasuwn, Laith Abbas Jassim
Uruk Journal of Human Sciences
Discussing the legitimacy of the state in the view of Islam requires knowledge and understanding of the general foundations of deduction and its tools, and then judging the validity of this theory according to those tools and their authority. This helps to remove many of the ambiguities and clouds that are stuck in the minds of many Muslims, as well as others, regarding the ideas presented in the Islamic arena in general that are far removed from authentic Muhammadan Islam, such as the ideology of ISIS, Wahhabism, and others. It also requires knowledge of the correct conduct of Muslim rulers …

Useful By Nature, Defensive On Demand: Topography And Sieges Of Rome In The Gothic War, Peter Francis Sian Guevara
Useful By Nature, Defensive On Demand: Topography And Sieges Of Rome In The Gothic War, Peter Francis Sian Guevara
MAD-RUSH Undergraduate Research Conference
This project shows how the use of topographical elements impacted the development of siege warfare during the Gothic Wars in the 6th century A.D. Scholars studied topography and archaeology within the context of warfare in Late Antique Italy but they omit non-natural topographical features such as tombs, bridges, and aqueducts. Analyses undertaken include comparison and contrast of the sieges that the city of Rome endured during the Gothic Wars of a contemporary eye-witness, the Greek historian Procopius of Caesarea. The analysis includes other sieges such as Ravenna and Rimini. Christopher Lillington-Martin’s essay Procopius on the Struggle for Dara in …

The Death Knell For Jim Crow: How African-American Soldiers’ Experiences Abroad Impacted The Modern Civil Rights Movement, Richard J. Sipe
MAD-RUSH Undergraduate Research Conference
This paper examines African-American soldiers’ experiences abroad in Europe during the Second World War and the occupation of Germany, and how these experiences affected their fight for Civil Rights on their return to the United States. The paper argues that the experiences of African-American soldiers in Europe, where they were free from Jim Crow Laws and treated with respect and equality by Europeans, created a new consciousness of equality that led to the demand for equal rights at home. The paper challenges traditional historical interpretations of the Civil Rights Movement by emphasizing the Movement’s international aspect. It accomplishes this by …
The Land Of Steady Habits: Anti-Abolition And The Preservation Of Slavery In Connecticut, Griffin R. Watson
The Land Of Steady Habits: Anti-Abolition And The Preservation Of Slavery In Connecticut, Griffin R. Watson
MAD-RUSH Undergraduate Research Conference
This paper explores the history of slavery in Connecticut from its inception during the Pequot War in the 1630s to its abolishment in 1848. The research pays particular attention to the reasons for the persistence of slavery as a formal institution in Connecticut while so many other northern states had abolished it. What was uncovered is that slavery was not supported as much in Connecticut as abolition was opposed. The people of Connecticut saw immediate abolition as a threat to the preexisting social order, despite their view of slavery as immoral. Slavery persisted as a means of preventing social upheaval.

Honors Projects
Seeking Solace: Regret, Grief, Anxiety is a triptych video and artifact piece inspired by the abstract analysis of my dreams. It recognizes worries held within my subconscious and brings them to life through graphic design, photography, and video. The process of creating provides a new perspective of looking at both art and occupational therapy as methods of solving emotional distress.
I have recorded over 80 of my dreams in the past year. In these dreams, regret, grief, and anxiety are common themes. These themes are represented in three triptychs that cycle through past, present, and future problems. The cycling of …
