The study aims to investigate the relationship between the aggressive/conservative working capital policies for 59 industrial companies listed at the Amman Stock Exchange for a period of 2004-2007. The impact of aggressive/conservative working capital investment and financing policies has been examined through cross-sectional regression models between working capital policies and profitability as well as the risk of the firms. Efficient management of working capital is a fundamental part of the overall corporate strategy to create the shareholders’ value. This study aimed at measuring the attitudes of talented students towards sport activities. To answer the questions of the study, a sample was randomly chosen consisting of 239 students from King Abdullah II School for Excellence in the Zarka governorate. The researcher used a questionnaire to measure the attitudes. The major findings of the study revealed that the attitudes towards sport activities were high level attitudes and positive on the degree of the overall scale. The study aimed at investigating the level of knowledge of concept mapping among physics teachers in Jordan in light of some variables related to them. The verb in Arabic language has specific features distinguishing it form the noun. However, there are some exceptions. These verbs may depart from the verb markers; they may be associated with affixes which may change their meanings; they may change the verb’s syntactic case, etc. One of these verbs is the verb “KAFA” (enough). This syntactic phenomenon encouraged the researcher to study the verb kafa and its multi meanings through consulting dictionaries, syntax references, Holy Qur’an parsing and commentaries, and the like.

Finding aid only for Manuscripts Small Collection 3566. Scrapbook, together with clippings and ephemera contained therein, of Cora Gossom, Bowling Green, Kentucky. Although many of its pages are missing, the book is a “Mark Twain’s Scrapbook,” containing pages coated with a light adhesive that required a slight application of moisture instead of glue. The contents relate primarily to news and local social events of interest to Cora, including her own debut. Loose items include a humorous novelty card warning of “fishing pox” and a postcard extolling William Jennings Bryan.

This article proposes the vernacular as a discursive methodological entry point to Memory Studies. A bottom-up approach, this article theorizes memory and time starting from a close-reading of signifiers from the Filipino language, thus allowing its culture to be considered in its own terms first. The first part of the essay examines a set of terms that show equivalences with Western conceptions of memory. The second set of signifiers—(ma)tandà(an), agam, limot/limót and panahon—reveal that they are actually more illustrative of the current trend of movement in Memory Studies; and that they translate more accurately both the non-linear and …

To evaluate the efficacy of Neurologic Music Therapy (NMT) using a traditional and a technological intervention (elastic touch-display) in improving the coordination of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), as a primary outcome, and the timing and strength control of their movements as secondary outcomes.

Methods

Twenty-two children with ASD completed 8 NMT sessions, as a part of a 2-month intervention. Participants were randomly assigned to either use an elastic touch-display (experimental group) or tambourines (control group). Gower's Queer Poetics in the Mirour de l'Omme

In the Mirour de l’Omme John Gower describes the allegorical Sins as both deceitful and “hermafrodrite” and later confesses to having engaged in queer practices in his earlier courtly poetry. Gower’s confession and his association of the Sins with intersexuality, I will argue, do not entail ultimately a rejection of queer poetics. In his Life of the Virgin Mary, the final part of the Mirour, Gower deploys a different kind of queer poetics, one that acknowledges the indeterminacies of language but still seeks to stabilize meaning, while intertwining male and female.
