Spatial And Temporal Analysis Of Summer Rainfall Characteristics In Upper Northeastern Thailand Using Weather Radar Data, Nawin Sermsook

This research aims to investigate and analyze spatial and temporal characteristics of daily rainfall which include rainfall amount, proportion of areas with heavy (35-90 mm/day) and extreme (>90 mm/day) rainfall intensity, numbers of extreme rainfall clusters, average size of extreme rainfall clusters, and orientation of extreme rainfall areas in the upper northeastern region of Thailand during the summer season (March to May) from 2017 to 2020. Rainfall data were obtained from Sakon Nakhon weather radar station. Radar reflectivity was converted to hourly rainfall amount using Z-R relationship for northeastern Thailand.    It was found that the spatially variable bias correction …

Currently, research on the relationship between metres (chandas) and literary sentiments (rasa) in classical Sanskrit poetry is quite meagre. This research aims to investigate the application of metres for sentimental purposes in Sanskrit play entitled Ratnāvalī of King Śrī Harṣa Vardhana. The research subject highlights selected thirteen stanzas, each of which the sentiment is apparent, from the Ratnāvalī. This article aims to explore the history of cholera in Thailand from 1820 to 1959, focusing on disease prevention and the evolving treatment methods for cholera patients across different historical periods. The article argues that knowledge about pathogens and the discovery of Vibrio cholerae as the cause of cholera did not lead to significant changes in cholera prevention and treatment methods before the mid-20th century. This research article aims to 1) analyze the Phra Malai manuscript of Wat Thewasangharam from a paleographic perspective, and 2) examine the interrelationship between this manuscript and the local society and culture of Kanchanaburi. A qualitative research methodology was employed, incorporating fieldwork data collection and documentary analysis and synthesis. The findings indicate that 1) the Phra Malai manuscript of Wat Thewasangharam is a Buddhist didactic text inscribed on white Thai folding books (samut thai khao), written in Khmer–Pali and Khmer–Thai scripts, and recorded in both Pali and Thai. The purpose of this paper is to uncover a latent theory of transformative teaching and learning to be found in James MacGregor Burns’s account of transforming leadership and place it in interdisciplinary conversation with transformative education. The importance of this interdisciplinary exploration consists in this: Burns’s view that good leadership and good teaching are nearly indistinguishable has powerful implications that have been too little recognized. This dissertation outlines and examines the Neoliberal rhetorics of choice and responsibility, and how these rhetorics are utilized in policy and culture related to the Opioid Epidemic in the United States. Through this examination of neoliberal rhetorics in policy and culture, I unpack the circular influence these two have on each other—i.e., cultural assumptions inform policy decisions, and established policy can slowly influence cultural assumptions. The key area in which these two influence each other is through rhetoric, therefore I argue that in addition to an economic and cultural structure, neoliberalism is a rhetorical structure—it shapes our society specifically through …

This study examines how economic concepts are metaphorically constructed in Indonesian and Chinese news headlines. Employing the Lakoff and Johnson's framework of Conceptual Metaphor Theory, the study analyzes and compares conceptual metaphors in economic news headlines from CNBC Indonesia and China Business Network published between January and April 2025. Employing a qualitative methodology guided by MIPVU, the study mapped conceptual economic metaphors in a corpus of 500 economic news headlines. Authentic autobiographical performance has the potential to open up possibilities for audience members to see their lives in new ways and take actions that make a difference in the world. This article describes the development of a 45-minute autobiographical performance from its initial creation in 2017 through its evolutionary journey to the Edinburgh Fringe in 2024, and beyond. The creative process is presented from the perspective of both the performer and the director-coach, and brings together the worlds of education and theatre. This essay explores the experience of implementing podcast-based assessment in ‘Feeling History, Making History,’ a semester-long course at the University of the Western Cape (UWC) in South Africa. The course is designed to cultivate broad-based critical and interdisciplinary skill sets in first-year Humanities students. Through pedagogical reflection across three consecutive iterations of this course, we investigate how creative assessment practices such as podcasting both enabled our students to bring their whole “selves” into the academy and productively challenged our own preconceived notions about effective, decolonial pedagogy.

Assessment design shapes not only what students learn, but who they become as learners. In the era of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI), where information is abundant and recall is easily outsourced, higher education assessment must move beyond memorization and toward authentic tasks that cultivate deeper learning and ontological growth. This conceptual, reflective paper argues that assessment should be grounded in students’ mode of being, rather than restricted to knowing, having, or doing. This work presents an autoethnographic, practice-as-research inquiry into Tender Steps (Adaire to Dance, 2024), a dance-for-film grounded in the author’s lived experience of baby loss. Through embodied reflection, the article explores how personal experience becomes a site of inquiry, examining the relationship between the performer’s being and the act of performance. Drawing on phenomenological and performance-based perspectives, it considers how posture, weight, breath, and voice function as embodied knowledge and how meaning is co-constructed through the intersubjective relationship between performer and audience.
