This paper presents a study of Cu diffusion at various temperatures in thin SiO2 films. Film composition and diffusion products were analyzed using Secondary Ion Mass Spectroscopy, Rutherford Backscattering Spectrometry, X-ray Diffraction and Raman Spectroscopy methods. We found a strong dependence of the diffused Cu concentration, which varied between 0.8 at.% and 10-3 at.%, on the annealing temperature. X-ray diffraction and Raman studies revealed that Cu does not react with the SiO2 network and remains in elemental form after diffusion. Computed tomographic (CT) colonography, or virtual colonoscopy, is a promising technique for screening colorectal cancers by use of CT scans of the colon. Current CT technology allows a single image set of the colon to be acquired in 10-20 seconds, which translates into an easier, more comfortable examination than is available with other screening tests. Currently, however, interpretation of an entire CT colonography examination is time-consuming, and the reader performance for polyp detection varies substantially. Space-time Adaptive Processing (STAP) is a two-dimensional filtering technique for antenna array with multiple spatial channels. The name "space-time" describes the coupling of these spatial channels with pulse-Doppler waveforms. Applications for STAP includes ground moving target indicator (GMTI) for airborne radar systems.
Today, there are strong interests to develop STAP algorithms for operations in “sample starved” environments, where intense environmental interference can reduce STAP capacity to detect and track ground targets. This paper presents a single-phase 11-level (5 H-bridge) cascaded multilevel DC-AC converter that has implemented a Phase Locked Loop (PLL) and Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) with 5 separate solar panel DC sources. This topology upgrades the conventional 3-level Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) controlled converter with advantages such as smoother output waveforms, more flexibility in voltage range, smaller filter size, and switching angle control. Simulation results of voltage synchronization using PLL and experimental setup and results implementing the entire converter interface are also presented.

A reconfigurable microstrip antenna is proposed for low-cost adaptive beam-switching applications. A small patch-slot-ring structure is used as the radiating element where an asymmetrical arrangement of p-i-n diodes is employed to switch the pattern in four directions. The antenna provides pattern switching of 65° and 45° in its fundamental mode for the elevation and azimuth planes, respectively. By maintaining the resonant frequency and beamwidth as relatively constant, beam switching is realized using a single feed point.

This paper presents results of a study of projected costs for a grid-connected PV system for domestic application in Ireland. The study is based on results from a 1.72kWpPV system installed on a flat rooftop in Dublin, Ireland. During its first year of operation a total of 885.1kWh/kWp of electricity was generated with a performance ratio of 81.5%. In this paper, a combined kinematic/torque output feedback control law is developed for leader follower-Based formation control using backstepping to accommodate the dynamics of the robots and the formation in contrast with kinematic-Based formation controllers. a neural network (NN) is introduced to approximate the dynamics of the follower and its leader using online weight tuning. Furthermore, a novel NN observer is designed to estimate the linear and angular velocities of both the follower robot and its leader.
