No childbirth education (CE) programs are available in the public sectors in Jordan. Many studies from Jordan recommended that pregnant women be educated about their health needs during pregnancy and childbirth. From the literature, CE programs were found to have positive effects on pregnancy and childbirth outcomes. Four focus groups with pregnant women, midwives and physicians were conducted to examine the perceptions of pregnant women, midwives and physicians regarding the content, feasibility, and challenges of implementing a CE program in Jordan. To explore how patients with chronic diseases, as well as members of patient organizations, perceive primary care and how they think about how to participate in primary care development. Focus group interviews with 28 patients in three regions in Sweden were conducted. We identified four themes: Availability of care, How to be met by professionals, Information needs and Continuity and prevention in care. Journal of Nursing & Interprofessional Leadership in Quality & Safety

Human papillomavirus (HPV) is the most common sexually transmitted disease, yet little is known about the college-age knowledge and prevention practices related to HPV. Although sample vaccination rates mirrored national known vaccination rates, a majority of participants did not complete the three dose vaccine schedule. HPV knowledge was similar between males and females while males were more likely to engage in preventative practices. This information can help healthcare providers reinforce vaccination schedule and prevention practices.

This paper discusses individual constructs that form diathesis-stress models and formulates an adapted model for a corrections population. Diathesis-stress models are familiar within psychiatric nursing, but rarely discussed in the literature in their application to correctional population, or for their potential in guiding nursing practice in correctional settings. Of particular interest to this paper is the coping response of inmates to the stressors of incarceration and the implications for clinical care management.

This paper introduces literature that supports the need for Community Health Centers and management of low income patients with chronic illnesses. Problem: Black women have been shown to experience higher rates of morbidity and mortality as a result of stroke, cardiovascular disease, hypertension, diabetes and overweight or obesity than women of other races/ethnicities. In 2013, The Director of Student Support Services for the San Lorenzo Unified School District (SLZUSD) implemented a Restorative Practices program in an effort to improve relationships on campus and decrease suspension and expulsion rates in SLZUSD. The Directors push for RP was fueled by the passing of Assembly Bill 1729 (AB-1729), when the California Education Code changed to allow for alternative disciplinary actions. States nationwide have passed bills similar to AB-1729 and allowed schools to use alternative punitive practices. When 84 patients, current and former, complained about lack of information during the intake process within five months period, a uniform "Patient Screening Tool" (Appendix L) was developed to improve the admissions process to this home health agency. Intake staff is responsible for receiving accurate information from the referral sources, confirming qualifications to receive services, and initiating education about services to the patient. While the population served has a wide range in age, diagnoses, discharge settings and cultures, the majority are over 65, frail, homebound and are returning home after hospital, SNF or rehabilitation settings.

The Clinical Nurse Leader project focused on the provision of education on intranasal naloxone administration to healthcare providers in Lake County in order to educate patients, their families, peers, and members of their social network. Fatal opioid overdose rates from prescribed or illicit opioids are four times greater in Lake County than California. The setting is Lake County, California, with a population of 65, 000, a radius of 1,300 square miles, and an annual per capita income of $21,000, with 24.3 % living in poverty. Background: Physical activity (PA) is important for controlling childhood obesity, but a comprehensive PA model for school-aged children is lacking. Objectives: Guided by the youth PA promotion (YPAP) model, this study estimated the direct and indirect effects of self-efficacy, enjoyment, parental influence, and environment on self-reported PA and pedometer steps. A secondary purpose was to explore the association between self-reported PA and pedometer steps. Methods: An observational and prospective study was conducted among 133 children, aged 8–11 years old, from 10 elementary schools with afterschool programs in a Midwestern U.S. school district from August through October 2013.
