This paper examined roles of Nigerian academic libraries in creating ethical awareness and fair use legislation of digital intellectual property. It provided the conceptual overview of digital intellectual property and identified the various components of intellectual property. The paper carefully scrutinized the Nigeria Amended Digital Intellectual Property Act 2022 and gave a comprehensive analysis of the ethical awareness of digital intellectual property. This paper examined emerging trends and challenges of metadata in 21^st century Nigerian academic libraries. It gave the historical development of metadata and types of library metadata. The functions of metadata in academic libraries were accentuated. Bibliographic Framework (BibFrame) 2.0, Resource Description and Access, Functional Requirements for Bibliographic Records (FRBR) and Functional Requirement for Authority Data (FRAD) were identified as emerging trends of metadata in Nigerian academic libraries. Preprint articles are available on servers, such as arXiv and ChemRxiv, at no-cost to benefit the movement toward open access of research. However, the use of preprint research articles as a reference source in academia is not heavily documented. To examine if researchers are utilizing preprint articles, this paper examines citation trends in the dissertations of chemistry and physics PhD candidates who studied at four University Centers in the State University Of New York system (SUNY). This article describes the collaborative process involved in selecting the streaming service Kanopy as a learning resource for in-person and distance instruction in a university setting. The process of implementing the service, as well as the service’s special features that aided in that process are outlined. This article discusses how Kanopy has been used for marketing library resources and outreach to our academic community. Moving forward, strategies will be employed to transition our patronage’s sentiment of Kanopy from a resource for entertainment, to a research tool as well.

The increase in textbook costs has caused students to depend upon OERs. Furthermore, they can help students from low-income families save money. Since 2021, the American Library Association has reported a marked increase in the number of book challenges in the United States. Public and school libraries, where most of these attempts at censorship occur, frequently celebrate Banned Books Week each fall, to raise awareness about the ongoing threat to intellectual freedom. College and university libraries face fewer book challenges and might not celebrate Banned Books Week; however, given the rise in number and visibility of conversations surrounding book banning, hosting events on the week’s theme offers academic libraries a way to engage their students thoughtfully in civic conversations. This study investigated demographic characteristics as determinants of awareness level of e-resources among postgraduate students in public universities in Nigeria. The descriptive survey research method was used for the study. The population of this study comprised 23,070 postgraduate students enrolled in six public universities in southwest Nigeria. A convenience sampling technique was used to select 2,310 postgraduate students in the six public universities. A structured questionnaire was adapted for the study.
