A good DMP plan was concise and easy to follow. Writers should not be afraid to take up the maximum allowed space when necessary to explain things so that the reviewers don’t have to think hard/look something up. Below are examples of feedback a consultant might give when reviewing a data management plan. These examples may be used and altered as necessary to fit a variety of situations. The feedback has been divided into three categories: Defining Terms, Details, Data, and Human Research Subject Data.

The Gothic Archive is the flagship digital humanities project for the Marquette University library. The project was birthed from a simple digital collection, and through the partnership of faculty and librarians, was transformed into something more. The core tenets of digital collection creation were adhered to in order to create a solid foundation upon which to build the Archive. The expertise of both groups and communication were key in the evolution of the collection, and in discovering and highlighting the relationships between the objects. Undergraduates are often left out of conversations surrounding open access. While they may not share the same concerns about publishing and prestige as faculty and graduate students, they do consume vast amounts of information, and thus can benefit just as much as those farther in their academic careers by knowing how to find, evaluate, and use open access resources. Libraries are well-positioned for partnership with digital humanities efforts in several ways. The management of digital items and the description of information resources for future researchers make libraries natural partners in digital humanities projects. Often Humanities scholars will reach out to the library for support or even guidance in these projects.

At Marquette University, the Gothic Archive exemplifies the development of this collaboration. Though the Archive started as a humble collection of digitized and transcribed gothic chapbooks, it is being developed into an interwoven collection of digitized materials and contextual objects and promises to become a full-fledged digital humanities tool. …

Cornerstone showcases the intellectual output of Minnesota State University, Mankato's faculty, staff, and students by preserving their works digitally and presenting them to the world in an easy-to-find format. Launching Cornerstone did not just happen overnight. This session will talk about our process in launching the repository and our marketing campaign and how our progress has well exceeded our goals and expectations.

This slide presentation gives a very brief overview of the development of the Web from its inception as ARPANET to the Semantic Web. The presentation then discusses Linked Data and its uses on the Web. It also gives a scenario of how linked data would work in libraries and its potential to expand access to library resources by making them discoverable through Web search engines such as Google. The presentation focuses on the metadata transition necessary to accomplish this type of global access.
