From Interview To Transcript To Story: Elucidating The Construction Of Journalistic Narrative As Qualitative Research, Jørgen Jeppesen

The Qualitative Report

There is a call to narrative investigators to be more explicit about their ways of working methodologically, in particular concerning dialogic/performative analysis. The purpose of this study was to examine how journalistic storytelling used as qualitative health research transformed, assembled and sequenced interview into transcripts, scenes, digressions, and other language products. Us Open Tennis, Richard C. Crepeau

On Sport and Society

In London it is the Wimbledon Fortnight. What can be called simply “two weeks of damn good tennis” concluded this weekend at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center where the fourth and final Grand Slam event of the tennis season was contested. As it often does the U.S. Open produced some very high quality tennis, along with some “interesting” moments, and promising new, and not so new, faces arriving in the spotlight.

Will Power: Learning What It Takes To Build A Radio Show (Not A Podcast) At Will-Am, Benjamin Payne

Multimedia Journalism and Mass Communication: Student Scholarship & Creative Works

What does it take to build a public radio show from the ground up? That was the question I asked throughout my Multimedia Journalism & Mass Communication (MJMC) Senior Inquiry. But I didn't just conduct research to find an answer—I served a professional internship to find an answer. Over the summer of 2016, I interned with "The 21st", a statewide public radio talk show produced by WILL-AM of Illinois Public Media in Urbana, Illinois. As the show had only been on the air for three months by the time I began my internship, I was in a unique position to …

The National Anthem, Richard C. Crepeau 2016 University of Central Florida

The National Anthem, Richard C. Crepeau

On Sport and Society

It has been over a week now since Colin Kaepernick sat during the playing of the National Anthem prior to an NFL Exhibition game. He was protesting discrimination against African Americans and police brutality in the United States. These issues have been in the forefront of public discussion since the shooting of Michael Brown just over two years ago. At various points and venues since the Brown shooting athletes have protested and offered various forms of support directly and indirectly to the “Black Lives Matter” movement.
