This study aimed to assess the effectiveness of the group Reminiscence Therapy (RT) on cognition, depressive symptoms, and quality of life (QOL) in older adults recruited in nursing homes. Methods: A pilot study with a one-group pretest-posttest design was conducted between September 2017 and March 2018 in five nursing homes from central Portugal. A comprehensive RT program (Core program followed by a Follow-up program) was provided to clinically stable volunteers aged 65 years or more, who did not have severe cognitive impairment. We present a retrospective study of a series of 40 patients over the age of 75 operated for an asymptomatic carotid stenosis. The results were evaluated during an average of 3 years of follow-up. Material and method. The study is retrospective and monocentric. The series includes 40 patients aged over 75 years and with an average age of 78.5 years (range 75-82). Patients underwent surgery for an asymptomatic carotid stenosis of more than 80%. The technique in all case was a carotid endarterectomy. Results. Introduction: Using the Extended Parallel Processing Model (EPPM) as a theoretical framework this study examines the impact of Ebola virus disease (EVD) media exposure on U.S. audience perceptions of the threat severity, personal susceptibility, and behavioral intentions to respond to the 2014 Ebola virus disease (EVD) threat.

Methods: Respondents included (n = 255) residents from the Midwest and Southern regions of U.S. Participants completed an online survey between 28 October and 3 December 2014 during the height of Ebola-related media coverage.

In March of 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic changed everything. This qualitative phenomenological study of undergraduate communication students in a 4-year public university explored how as primary stakeholders for universities, students responded to the pandemic. Using Protective Action Decision Model (PADM), the researchers explored students’ perceptions of the risk of contracting COVID-19 and the protective actions recommended, and how perceptions influenced protective action decision making and behavioral responses. This study fills a gap in the crisis communication literature by focusing on stakeholder perspectives rather than the typical organizational responses to crises; it affirmed the sequential nature of PADM and suggests it …
