The Impact Of Aging And Storage Conditions On The Performance Of Universal Adhesives: A Systematic Review, Maryam Ghamgosar, Mehrsima Ghavami-Lahiji, Sanaz Mihandoust, Enayatollah Homaie Rad, Hassan Salehipour Masooleh, Lobat Tayebi

Electrical & Computer Engineering Faculty Publications

Objective: This systematic review evaluated how different storage times and conditions affect universal adhesives' bond strength and degree of conversion (DC).

Methods: A literature search was conducted in PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, and Google Scholar databases for articles published from January 1st, 2000, until May 15th, 2022. The researchers comprehensively evaluated the articles using a multi-step process to identify articles relevant to the topic of interest. Quality assessment was performed through the ROBDEMAT tool. Due to the high heterogeneity in the preliminary data, performing a meta-analysis was not feasible.

Results: A total of 3169 records were obtained, and after …

The Comparison Of Learning Outcome Between Implant Placement Training With Xguide Vs Iris100 Navigation In Different Anatomical Situations, Supichaya Thanasanpaiboon 2024 Faculty of Dentistry

The Comparison Of Learning Outcome Between Implant Placement Training With Xguide Vs Iris100 Navigation In Different Anatomical Situations, Supichaya Thanasanpaiboon

Chulalongkorn University Theses and Dissertations (Chula ETD)

This study aimed to evaluate the learning outcomes, accuracy, efficiency, and user perceptions of two dynamic navigation systems, X-Guide and IRIS-100, in implant placement training for novice dentists across varying anatomical complexities.Fourteen novice dentists were initially recruited, with 12 completing the full training program. Participants underwent implant placement training on models representing straightforward and advanced cases using two training sequences: X-Guide followed by IRIS-100, and IRIS-100 followed by X-Guide. Accuracy was assessed by measuring angular, coronal, and apical deviations, as well as operation time, across pre-test, post-test 1, and post-test 2 phases using the freehand technique, followed by repeated measures …

Inflammatory Responses Of Peri-Implant Crevicular Fluid On Different Dental Implant Abutment Materials After 6-Months Functional Loading: A Randomized Clinical Controlled Trial, Penkamol Wongrattanapasson 2024 Faculty of Dentistry

Inflammatory Responses Of Peri-Implant Crevicular Fluid On Different Dental Implant Abutment Materials After 6-Months Functional Loading: A Randomized Clinical Controlled Trial, Penkamol Wongrattanapasson

Chulalongkorn University Theses and Dissertations (Chula ETD)

Different abutment materials induce different immune responses in peri-implant soft tissues. Previous study showed that Ti base abutments without loading demonstrated comparable soft tissue-reaction to titanium abutments (Sampatanukul et al., 2018). Inflammatory responses after functional loading had not been elucidated in the previous study. This study investigates the inflammatory responses of peri-implant crevicular fluid around two abutment materials; titanium and titanium base (Ti base) after 6-months functional loading and identifies suitable abutment material which can induce stable inflammatory response in the peri-implant soft tissue. Sixteen implants of either Neodent or Straumann single implants were placed in sixteen patients in anterior …

Chulalongkorn University Theses and Dissertations (Chula ETD)

Objectives: To evaluate effects of surface treatments on the color stability (ΔE) and translucency parameter (TP) of Gradient Multilayered yttria-stabilized Zirconia (GMZ), Ultra-translucent multilayered Zirconia (UTML) and lithium disilicate glass ceramic (LD) under coffee thermocycling. Methods: 27 samples from each material were classified into 3 groups (polished, glazed, and glazed+pumice). A dental spectrophotometer was utilized to measure the color coordinates before and after thermocycling. The color and translucency differences (ΔE and ΔTP) measurements were determined using the CIELAB formula, and their corresponding 50%:50% perceptibility and acceptability thresholds (PT and AT) were used for analysis. One-way ANOVA and Two-way ANOVA was …

Testing The Strength Of Thin Feather-Edge Monolithic Multilayered Zirconia Crowns: A Pilot Study With A Novel Acoustic Test, Estelle Saab, Camille Haddad, Maher Abboud, Maha Daou, Amine Zoghbi 2024 Saint Joseph University of Beirut, Lebanon

Testing The Strength Of Thin Feather-Edge Monolithic Multilayered Zirconia Crowns: A Pilot Study With A Novel Acoustic Test, Estelle Saab, Camille Haddad, Maher Abboud, Maha Daou, Amine Zoghbi

International Arab Journal of Dentistry

Introduction: Limited research has explored the mechanical characteristics of recently introduced multilayered monolithic zirconia (MZC) crowns with feather-edge margins design. Moreover, most of the conventional techniques for evaluating the mechanical behavior of brittle dental ceramics rely on destructive tests, making it impossible to precisely evaluate real strength values due to premature crack initiation detection failure.

Objectives: The main objective of the study was to assess the load capacity of translucent multilayered monolithic zirconia crowns with feather-edge margin thicknesses of 0.4 mm and 0.5 mm. Additionally, the research introduced a novel non-destructive acoustic emission testing (AET) technique in the …

Aesthetic Rehabilitation Of A Complex Crown-Root Fracture By Fragment Reattachment With A Fiber-Reinforced Post: A Case Report, Sarra Saidi, Meriem Fejjeri, Mahdi Tlili, Sabra Jaafoura, Nadia Frih 2024 University of Monastir, Tunisia

Aesthetic Rehabilitation Of A Complex Crown-Root Fracture By Fragment Reattachment With A Fiber-Reinforced Post: A Case Report, Sarra Saidi, Meriem Fejjeri, Mahdi Tlili, Sabra Jaafoura, Nadia Frih

International Arab Journal of Dentistry

Complex crown-root fractures are characterized by the involvement of both crown and root with pulp exposure. They pose aesthetic, functional, and psychological problems for the patient. Furthermore, they can pose technical difficulties for the practitioner. The purpose of this case report is to describe the management of a complex crown-root fracture of the right upper central incisor with subgingival limit by reattaching the tooth fragment with fiber-reinforced post. We considered a coronal elongation (gingivectomy and osteoplasty) to recreate the biological space and to expose the limit of the fracture line to guarantee the quality of the bond.

Universal adhesives (UAs) often exhibit comparable or even superior bond strength to traditional adhesive systems, ensuring reliable and long-lasting adhesion between the resin composite and the tooth structure. Therefore, this study aimed to assess the clinical performance of UAs compared to other adhesive systems in direct resin composite restorations through a systematic review and meta-analysis. Two reviewers executed a literature search in five electronic databases: PubMed, EMBASE, Scopus, Web of Science, and Scielo. Clinical trials comparing the clinical evaluation of resin composite restorations in Class I, Class II, or Class V cavities placed with an universal adhesive (UA) system against …
