Background. Rehabilitation in the anterior region requires specific conditions for success, such as the presence of papilla, emergence profile, and balance between pink and white esthetic. Objectives. This systematic review aimed to evaluate the esthetic risk associated with immediate implant placement with immediate restoration in the anterior superior area, where the facial bone plate may be absent or deficient. Materials and methods. The search was done in PubMed, Embase, Cochrane, Lilacs, Scopus, Scielo, and Google Scholar databases. The investigation involved clinical studies and observational studies published between January 2012 and July 2023. Studies were excluded if there was less than …

Objectives: The goal of this study was to assess the newly formed bone and the remnant biomaterial by comparing four different bone grafts used to treat critical-size defects, associated or not with the non-resorbable membrane.

Materials and methods: Two calvaria critical-size bone defects were created in 50 male Wistar rats. They were divided into blood (G1), autogenous (G2), bioglass (G3), hydroxyapatite (G4), and xenograft (G5) groups, associated or not with e-PTFE. The experimental periods were 15 and 45 days. Sections were prepared for histomorphometric assessment. All data were analyzed by the mixed-effects model with multiple comparisons (significance level, p < .05).

Aim this in vitro study was conducted to evaluate the effect of mechanical loading on different implant materials on supporting structures materials and methods: a total of three implant retained overdentures were used in this study, retained by two implants each (Titanium, polyetheretherketon and zirconia) were placed in epoxy resin casts at the canine area using a surgical guide. Soft liner material was used at the distal extension area to mimic the soft tissues. Two linear strain gauges were bonded buccal and lingual to each implant to measure the peri-implant strains during unilateral and bilateral loading. Results: during bilateral loading …

Background: Several treatment options are planned for completely edentulous patients rehabilitation which were developed to meet patients desires and requirements, starting from conventional complete denture till implant supported fixed full arch cases. Each technique has its own indication and limitations. Passive fit is an important factor for the long-term success of implant- prosthesis, which necessitate accurate transfer of the implant position. Recently, digital impressions have been introduced in dental implant treatment. By the use of scan body and different optical scanning methods, the position of scan bodies can be transferred to a virtual implant position within the dental arch. Material …

Oral Focal Mucinosis: A Case Report, Hala El-Kammar Dr, Yara Youssef, Bassant Mahmoud Moustafa, Iman M. Mostafa, Noha Adel Hassanine, Adham Fahmy, Rami Guiha Dr.

Future Dental Journal

Oral focal mucinosis is a rare lesion with less than 60 cases reported in English literature so far, to the best of our knowledge. It is considered to be the oral counterpart of cutaneous focal mucinosis and/or cutaneous myxoid cyst. Histopathologically, Oral focal mucinosis is demonsterates a well-circumscribed area of myxomatous connective tissue containing mucinous material, surrounded by denser collagenous connective tissue. We present a case of Oral focal mucinosis occurring on the buccal gingiva of the lower jaw.

Implant Site Preparation Using Conventional Drilling Technique Versus Magnetic Malleting Technique (Randomized Clinical Study)., Tamer Bahaa Negidah, Ahmed Farid Shehab Prof, Hussein Hatem, Sara Zakaria Fanous, Mostafa Azab

Future Dental Journal

Background The purpose of our current study is to determine whether using a Magnetic Mallet during oral and implant surgical procedures is more effective than using traditional instruments with regard to complication rate, tissue healing, and surgical results (primary stability and crestal bone loss). According to a number of writers, a Magnetic Mallet can be utilized for implant insertion, ridge expansion, sinus lifts, tooth extractions, and implant site preparation.

So, this study was conducted to ascertain whether using a Magnetic Mallet Throughout the process of oral and surgical implant operations is effective and to assume on whether it might help …

Future Dental Journal

Objectives: The aim of the present Systematic Review was to compare between immediate and delayed dental implant placement using resonance frequency analysis specifically Implant Stability Quotients (ISQ).

Search methods: Search was performed in two databases (PubMed and Cochrane Library) till March 2023. Randomized clinical trials (RCTs) were included and measurements of ISQ at time of placement and time of loading were recorded. We excluded papers discussing bone grafting, orthodontic treatment and implant surface treatment.

Results: Results were above ISQ threshold value of 65, with no significant difference between immediate and delayed implants. However, Immediate placement showed shorter treatment time and …

Future Dental Journal

Aim: The sealing ability of endodontic obturation plays a important role in long term prognosis of an endodontic treatment. Aim To evaluate and compare the marginal adaptation of epoxy resin-based sealer (AH Plus) versus Bioceramic-based sealer (Total fill BC Sealer) to root canals that obturated with two obturation techniques (Lateral condensation and single cone techniques) using scanning electron microscope (SEM). Materials and Methods Sixty recently extracted single rooted mandibular premolars teeth were disinfected. Access cavity preparation was performed followed by cleaning and shaping, using 2.6% NaOCl as final irrigation protocol. Teeth were then equally divided into 4 groups according to …

Histological Evaluation Of Pulp Response To Pulpine Ne Versus Biodentine As Direct Pulp Capping Materials In A Dog Model, Hagar Bastawy, Maha Ahmed Niazy, Mona Farid, Asmaa Harhash, Mona Aboelwafa, Ashraf Abu-Seida

International Arab Journal of Dentistry

Introduction: The material used for pulp capping has a significant impact on the outcome of vital pulp therapy. This study compared the pulp tissue response to Pulpine NE versus Biodentine as direct pulp capping materials in a dog model.

Methods: Twenty-four teeth in two mongrel dogs (1-2-year-old) were used. In each dog (n=12 teeth), the dental pulps were exposed in 8 teeth (2 experimental groups, 4 teeth each) and left unexposed in 4 teeth (control group, n=4 teeth). A class V cavity was performed on the buccal surface of the selected teeth in the experimental groups. The exposed …
