The study investigated the information needs and research activities of postgraduates in universities in Benue State. Two specific objectives with corresponding research questions guided the study. The study adopted a descriptive research design. The target population for the study was 3821 postgraduate students in the three universities in Benue State (Benue State University, University of Agriculture, Makurdi and University of Mkar, Mkar). The sample size of 362 postgraduates from the three universities under study was selected using proportionate stratified and convenience sampling techniques. This study focused on the development of a mathematical model required for estimating the number of adopters of ICT devices among libraries located in Nigeria. Data for this study was collected from 121 respondents selected based on a research survey approach using simple random sampling. 9 ICT devices were identified, namely: PCs, printers/fax machines, search engines, e-library systems, bulk SMS services, library management systems, bar/QR code readers, projectors and video conferencing. Purpose: The study investigated information: Knowledge on perception of resource access and intellectual freedom. In 2015, West Coast Baptist College purchased an 80,000 volume library collection from a closing Bible institution. During 2017-2020, both the original 40,000 volume collection and purchased 80,000 volume collection were merged, relocated to a larger facility, thoroughly weeded into a 60,000 volume collection, and converted from Dewey Decimal Classification into the Library of Congress Classification. To this end, this study examined self-concept and librarians’ commitment in University Libraries in Southern, Nigeria using a survey research. A structured questionnaire was used to collect data from all the five hundred and fifty-six (556) professional librarians in thirty-nine public universities in southern, Nigeria. This paper considers the Canadian Federation of Library Associations (CFLA) recommendation to “decolonize library access and classification” and begins by exploring the difficulty involved when addressing this recommendation working from within a colonial institution that represents a colonial worldview. It compares general characteristics of Western and Indigenous worldviews and considers the affect that these perspectives have on the organization of knowledge and information especially in relation to a controlled subject vocabulary like the Library of Congress Subject Headings (LCSH). Libraries serve an important role in accessing information, delivering services, and fostering a sense of community. Libraries must ask whether they are serving all of their community members equitably. People with disabilities need to be able to access the libraries fully. This article first provides an overview of accessibility-related legislative history in the US, Canada and Ontario, and Australia to contextualize its impact on services to people with disabilities. The medical and social models of disability are explored. Lastly an overview of the history of libraries and accessibility cements the moral, ethical, and legal reasons to serve people with disabilities.

In this paper we discuss the Pacific and Regional Archive for Digital Sources in Endangered Cultures (PARADISEC), a research repository that explicitly aims to act as a conduit for research outputs to a range of audiences, both within and outside of academia. PARADISEC has been operating for 19 years, and has grown to hold over 390,000 files currently totaling 150 terabytes and representing 1,312 languages, many of them from Papua New Guinea and the Pacific. Our focus is on recordings and transcripts in the many small languages of the world, the songs and stories that are unique cultural expressions. While …

Methodology: The study was quantitative in nature and survey research method was used to achieve the desired objectives.
