A survey research was conducted in Makurdi metropolis to find out the availability and utilization of school library resources in selected secondary schools, [stratified random sampling technique was used for the selection of the sample from all the secondary schools in Makurdi Metropolis. Collection development is challenging for academic libraries due to the rising cost of e-resources. Over the past five years, the Case Western Reserve University Library has been experimenting with new ways to actively address these issues through specific strategic initiatives. We have been successful in reallocating one-time funds to user-driven purchasing initiatives, such as demand-driven and evidence based acquisitions models. Our usage data proves these models are cost-effective and aid in the research process by offering a wealth of content at the user's point of need. Abstract

The study investigated library services provision on academic performance of nursing undergraduates in selected universities in South West Nigeria. A proportionate random sampling technique used to select three hundred and four (304) nursing undergraduates in the three selected universities and the response rate was 82.24%. The instrument for data collection was the questionnaire which was administered to the respondents. The data were analysed using simple percentage and frequency tables of SPSS. The purpose of this study is to attempt a bibliometric analysis of M.Phil. Dissertations awarded from Department of Library & Information Science, University of Calcutta. Total 136 M.Phil. dissertations were awarded covering the period from 2004 to 2016. These selected dissertations considered for the present study have been analyzed based on session wise distribution of dissertations and citations, guidance pattern and subject. The study shows the positive growth of dissertations in a number of areas and the most preferred research areas done on the topics are Community Information Services, Information Communication Technology and Bibliometrics.

The purpose of this study was to test various search strategies for locating reports of research in the extant literature. Implications from the findings of this study are generalized into recommendations for how academic librarians can apply their professional skill sets to aid students whether undergraduate, graduate, profession or doctoral to effectively find reports of research. More specifically, the concept of “research hooks” is presented as a way for librarians to help students craft more effective database search strategies. Library marketing has traditionally been transactionally focused. Our library has chosen to embrace a relationship marketing (RM) approach by focusing on long-term relationships rather than isolated interactions. With the prevalence of library anxiety, there is a need to look outside of library literature for best practices. While libraries and businesses define success differently, the approaches used to achieve success can be based on the same theoretical framework. RM has been documented to positively impact a business’ profits, and libraries can potentially adapt these approaches to achieve organizational goals.
