This presentation to Library of Congress staff, delivered onsite on January 10, 2020, presents a tour through the demonstration project pursued by the Aida digital libraries research team with the Library of Congress in 2019-2020. In addition to providing an overview and analysis of the specific machine learning projects scoped and explored, this presentation includes a number of high-level take-aways and recommendations designed to influence and inform the Library of Congress's machine learning efforts going forward.

The study is an attempt to identify the bibliometric facets of Free Google Books like collection size, authorship patterns, time-series, and publishing bodies on ‘Peace’ and ‘War’. The Google Book archive was searched using two search terms ‘Peace’ and ‘War’ in advanced search mode. The search was executed on free Google books during the month of January 2019. Bibliographical details of all the hits (results) retrieved were collected, tabulated, analyzed and interpreted to reveal results. The purpose of this study is to explore the intellectual structure of Library and Information Science (LIS) in Pakistan during the period 2001 to 2018 applying the co-word analysis. The trends, patrons and tendencies of LIS in Pakistan will be explored by measuring the correlation coefficient of selected key words extracted from the articles indexed in Library and Information Science and Technology Abstracts (LISTA) by the Pakistani authors. The study has investigated the application and utilization of ICT in the degree college libraries of Assam. Two sets of structured questionnaires have prepared to collect the data from the respondents. The questionnaires were distributed to 192 colleges, out of which 126 colleges have responded. Again, user questionnaires were distributed to 784 users of different colleges, out of which 540 questionnaires have received. The findings of the study have revealed that the use of ICT in college libraries has improved the management of library activities. The purpose of this study is to investigate whether any association between some of the factors selected and information-seeking activities of school teachers in Sri Lanka. A survey method was adapted and a self-administered questionnaire was distributed among school teachers who work in government schools in the Kandy district, Central province of Sri Lanka. This study was conducted to ascertain the trends of donations to private academic libraries in Ghana and how these donations have affected the collection development and service delivery of the library. The population of the study comprised of one (1) librarian and two (2) assistant librarians from the Central University library. A qualitative research design was employed to collect data for the study, and the data were thematically analyzed.

Libraries need to challenge their perceptions to meet the needs of all users. From our national mixed-methods survey on the status of United States academic libraries’ reference services (260 respondents) we received 40 responses from libraries in New Jersey. This presentation seeks to compare the current reference models and perceptions of librarians in New Jersey with those around the country, based on our survey results. We will highlight strengths and weaknesses of New Jersey librarian attitudes towards reference as well as the steps we can take to do better. Attendees will be invited to join the conversation using interactive technology.

This paper deals with the analysis of the 1353 contributions of the journal entitled ‘Journal of Ornithology’ published during 2000-2015. It examines the year-wise distribution of publications, Relative Growth Rate and Doubling time, authorship pattern, degree of colloboration, document-wise publication, language-wise publication, most productive authors and country-wise contributions etc. The study shows that majority of the contributions were contributed by three authors and country-wise distribution shows that majority of the papers were contributed from Germany. From top 10 ranked lists of authors, Wink, M (Institute of Pharmacy and Molecular Biotechnology, Heidelberg University, Germany) has contributed highest number of papers.
