This study examined the relationships between food insecurity, risks, and resources among adolescents attending a large high school in Northwest Arkansas. In a sample of 1,493 students, in which the majority are Hispanic/Latino and receive free and reduced lunch, food insecurity relationships were first assessed controlling for a number of sociodemographic variables, such as ethnicity, gender, and social class. In addition, a number of risk and resource variables were identified at four ecological levels: individual, family, school/peer, and community. Malnutrition is an important public health issue in Burkina Faso where 30 % of children are underweight for their age and 92% suffer from iron deficiency. Such statistics indicate that there is a significant lack of adequate nutrition in the country. With approximately 80% of the population employed in the agricultural sector, development projects have focused on increasing agricultural production and commercializing output to ameliorate poor nutrition. This project analyzes food access issues in Adams County, specifically within the setting of South Central Community Action Programs and the Gleaning Project through the collection of individual testimonies. Budget, time, transportation, health, and household composition emerged as common themes that affect food access within this rural community and limit choice and agency, and also serve as a major influence in the process of food provisioning and identity formation, especially in terms of motherhood, parenting, and caregiving. Objective
The goal of the present study was to use a methodology that accurately and reliably describes the availability, price and quality of healthy foods at both the store and community levels using the Nutrition Environment Measures Survey in Stores (NEMS-S), to propose a spatial methodology for integrating these store and community data into measures for defining objective food access.

Setting
Two hundred and sixty-five retail food stores in and within 2 miles (3·2 km) of Flint, Michigan, USA, were mapped using ArcGIS mapping software.

Using nationally representative data, this paper aims to determine the impact of the 2008 financial crisis on the food security level of veterans relative to non-veterans. An ordinal logistic model reveals that the aforesaid recession did not have a significant impact on the food security level of veterans vis-à-vis non-veterans.

Having previously implemented and executed two comprehensive surveys examining food insecurity, nutrition, and health among Fayetteville intermediate students attending Owl Creek (Fitzpatrick et al. 2009), and Springdale high school students (Fitzpatrick et al. 2015), the current work examined food insecurity at several levels of aggregation in Washington County. The first part of the project entailed cataloging the 32 census tracts in Washington County based on their risk for being food insecure. This summary is based on 20 face-to-face interviews among individuals selected by local service providers that were representative of clients in Northwest Arkansas that have previously been, currently are, or may be at risk to experience food insecurity. The interviews were held throughout Northwest Arkansas, often in the participant’s home, at restaurants, Genesis Church, or 7 Hills Homeless Center, during June and July 2018. Participants were compensated $100.00 for completing a 60- to 90-minute interview.
