Many methods of health education are being used today to help children and young people grow into healthy useful citizens. A health club is one such method which may be used to provide activities and health knowledge which may influence attitude and behavior.

The purpose of this study was to compare children who had been members of a health club with other children who were not members to see if there was any difference between the two groups in health knowledge, attitudes, and behavior as measured by a Health Achievement Test and a Health Behavior Inventory.

The purposes of this study were (1) to ascertain if the three year program in nursing at the Hinsdale Sanitarium and Hospital School of Nursing was preparing students for professional activities as well as did the four year program, and (2) to obtain information for use in curriculum planning.

The descriptive-survey method of research was used. Comparisons were made between the responses to the questionnaire received from 85 per cent of the graduates of the four year program from 1953-1955, or Group A, and 78 per cent of the graduates from the three year program from 1955-1957, or Group B. …

The purpose of this study was to develop a problem situation unit that could be used for stimulating graduate nurses to assume their responsibility regarding the use of pain and anxiety relieving drugs, namely narcotics, tranquilizers, and barbiturates.

The purpose of thin study was to develop a plan for inservice education for the graduate nurse staff in a small maternity unit that would encourage optimum nursing care.

A questionnaire was prepared and given to those nurses who had been employed in the maternity unit during the sixteen month period prior to the date of mailing the questionnaire.

Statement of Problem:

Would more men enter and remain in nursing, if the Seventh-day Adventist denomination would recognize the professional skills of qualified men nurses and utilize them on the same basis on which they utilize the professional skills of a qualitied women nurses?

Method:

The normative-survey method was employed in this study, to collect the necessary data. Two groups of men were used in the survey; men nurses who graduated from Seventh-day Adventist schools of nursing between the periods 1950 to 1955, and college men representing the two lower division classes.

Health Education was assumed to be one effective method of improving maternal and infant health on the Island of Taiwan.

To establish the need for new health education pamphlets to be used as a supplement to the health education program in the area of maternal and infant care in Taiwan, a survey of pamphlets already available on the Island was made.

This study revealed that while an occasional chapter in several books lightly touched upon maternal and infant health only nine pamphlets were specifically prepared in the area of maternal and infant care.

It was the purpose of this study to consider four phases of the nature of the learning experiences of students of nursing in the operating room. The phases of the problem studied were: (1) Are the learning experiences "new" or "an expansion and/or clarification of previous learnings?" (2) Do new learning experiences continue throughout the clinical assignment to the operating room? (3) Are the learning experiences concentrated in some areas of learning more than in others? The purpose of this study was to find out what levels of responsibilities recent graduates of four Seventh-day Adventist basic college programs in nursing assumed during the first year following graduation; to find if these recent graduates felt adequately prepared for their positions; and to find out why they accepted their positions.

In this study a survey was made of the attitudes of Indonesian Seventh-day Adventists toward nursing. This was done for the purpose of discovering why there is a shortage of women applicants to the Seventh-day Adventist nursing school in Bandung, Java. The study was accomplished through the use of questionnaires administered to four selected groups in two geographic areas of Indonesia, and revealed attitudes of two adult groups and two student group. One hundred and twenty-one persons responded to the questionnaires.

This study has been conducted to determine the nursing experience, the advanced educational attainments, and the church and community activities of the graduates of the New England Sanitarium and Hospital School of Nursing.

In order to secure the data, questionnaires were sent to 184 of the graduates during the 10-year period, 1945 through 1954. Sixty-eight percent responded with the desired information.

Data received from this survey have been presented in this study and compared with the findings of other similar studies.
