Introduction

This study aimed to evaluate the force (F) and torque (Tq) exerted on a rotated canine and molar tooth by two different aligner systems. An ArchForm loop clear aligner (AFL) was compared to a traditional clear aligner (T) with the force (F) and torque (Tq) compared. A reduction in F and Tq with AFL aligners could possibly decrease the incidence of Orthodontic Root Resorption (ORR), while also creating more effective forces for tooth movement.

Background: This study aimed to determine the factors influencing the choice of toothpaste by students in Settat (Morocco) and investigate the characteristics of those most commercialized in this region.

Methods: A close-ended questionnaire was developed and filled out. This was a cross-sectional study of 429 students who agreed to participate. Based on questionnaire data, the 15 most commercialized toothpaste by respondents were purchased, and their packaging was investigated.

Results: After analysis using Excel 2019, the results revealed that the major factors influencing the choice of toothpaste are brand 55%, family choice 48%, and media advertisements 40%. Moreover, …

BACKGROUND: Patients' experiences, feelings, and perceptions play key roles in quality of life and dental care quality, but they are poorly understood in periodontal disease. Therefore, this meta-synthesis aimed to gain deep insights into the feelings, experiences, and perceptions of people living with periodontal disease.

METHODS: Electronic database searches in PubMed, Cochrane Library, EMBASE, Scopus, Web of Science, PsycINFO, CINAHL, and Open AIRE were conducted up to December 2021 (updated in June 2022). Shorting of tooth or external root resorption that happen during or after completion of orthodontic treatment are troublesome. The root resorption could affect treatment outcome, unstable orthodontic tooth movement and even cause medical dispute. The etiologies of external root resorption could be systemic problems or local factors. The mechanism of external root resorption is still unclear and under investigation. This article reviewed the factors and possible causes on the orthodontic root resorption and discussed the possible role of light emitted diode (LED) biophotostimualtion effects to inhibit the root resorption. To coordinate the dental midlines with facial midline is one of the orthodontic treatment goals. This case report presented a case with Class II dentition crowding and asymmetry by non-extraction therapy with the aids of TADs. Transpalatal arch with extension arm was used to correct buccal version of upper second molar which contributed the mandibular deviation. Molar distalization and arch widening were achieved by using TADs. Midline and Class II elastics resulted more correction of dental midlines to facial midlines.
