Background: In endemic countries, Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever (CCHF) is an important zoonotic disease with significant public health implications. Previous studies in Iran suggests that CCHF poses a significant health risk to slaughterhouse workers and butchers. This study investigated the biofilm (BF) formation of a bovine-derived Escherichia coli (E. coli) strain (designated DL1907) and analyzed the factors influencing its formation. The BF-forming capacity, optimal formation time and temperature, as well as the effects of different culture media, pH levels, NaCl concentrations, and glucose concentrations, were assessed using the crystal violet method. The results demonstrated that the strain had a strong BF-forming capacity, achieving the most intact BF structure after 36 h of culture at 37°C. Cryptosporidium spp. is the most frequent agent in Algeria that causes neonatal diarrhea in calves, with high symptomatic diarrhea in pre-weaned dairy calves. The study aims to measure the prevalence, distribution, and genotype of Cryptosporidium-infected calves in one of Algeria's high milk production areas (North Central and Northeast). From 35 dairy cattle farms were selected 172 (77 with diarrheic and 95 without diarrheic symptoms) calves aged less than 60 days. Twenty-three farms (65.71%) were detected with cryptosporidiosis using a modified Ziehl-Neelsen stain, whereby 68 calves (39.53%) were obtained positive. This study addresses a significant knowledge gap by establishing population-specific reference intervals (RIs) for this species, as existing RIs are based on limited captive populations and may not accurately reflect the health of semi-free-ranging cohorts. Bacterial infections are common in zoo birds. They may be caused by pathogenic bacteria or opportunistic bacteria due to trauma or stress-induced immune compromise. Improper use of antibiotics contributes to the development of resistant bacteria, making treatment complicated or ineffective.
