Factors Influencing Effectiveness Of The Acquisition Career Field Initial Education Course, Christopher J. Ward

This study analyzed the effect of the acquisition career field's initial education course on the individual level variables of commitment, motivation, self-efficacy, and knowledge, and developed a measure for future use of organizational factors that may impact that effectiveness. Effectiveness was assessed using a recurrent institutional cycle design, using two classes of students in the Air Force Fundamentals of Acquisition Management course. A total of 89 students responded to the surveys. Even with a small amount of data, the results showed that fulfilling the course expectations of the students increased the affective commitment to their career field. More data is …

In this project a four week computer-based career assessment program was developed to equip employable welfare recipients in San Bernardino with the necessary tools to explore, seek, obtain, and maintain employment that is self-sustaining. The first three weeks of the curriculum addresses major areas of career development, while the last week focuses on job searching.

This literature review describes the strategies utilized in creating a successful corporate training program. There has been an evolution in the corporate training sector within the past decade that has encouraged the development of the corporate university. Many of our world's top companies are teaching content that is used to motivate employees to ensure a higher level of corporate success. This review suggests that by following the components established by effective training and instructional design, other entities can produce the same prosperous outcomes.

A major initiative resulting from the 1999 Chief of Staff of the Air Force Logistics Review (CLR) was the development of the logistics readiness officer (LRO) career field, which combined three previous logistics fields; supply, transportation, and logistics plans. Comparing State Vocational Rehabilitation Agencies With High Verses Low Rates Of Competitive Employment For Blind Consumers: Defining Quality Employment And Describing Effective Service Patterns, Edward Bell

State vocational rehabilitation (VR) agencies were rank ordered by their rate of competitive employment for consumers who are legally blind. Based on each state's competitive closure rate (CCR), the top six- and bottom six-ranked agencies were identified and formed two groups of high- and low-performing states. Top- versus bottom-ranked agencies were compared by quality of jobs obtained, services offered, consumer characteristics, and geographic/economic differences. The quality of jobs obtained was assessed via three indices: average wage, medical insurance, and selfsupport. In 1998, the Aerospace Communications and Information Expertise (ACE) program was implemented to provide a common operational foundation for new Air Force Communications and Information officers. Post-School Plans : Aspirations, Expectations And Implementation : A Report Prepared For The Smith Family, Adrian Beavis, Martin Murphy, Jennifer Bryce, Matthew Corrigan

Vocational, adult and professional education research

This report highlights the important role of vocational education and training such as TAFE as an alternative for students with no plans to study at university. The report was based on the surveys of almost 19,000 teenagers. The study suggests that the most important factors for predicting post-school plans are gender, ability and the vocational orientation of the student. Students appear to have a good understanding of all these factors and plan their post-school destinations accordingly.
