This pilot study explored the perceptions of women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer and struggles they experienced when returning to work or maintaining employment. It sought to understand the impact of cancer treatment on work demands and how or if that impacted the survivor’s perception of her employment status. This study found significant differences in the RTW perceptions for women with breast cancer in the areas of marital status, physical effort, work strategies, and work-related help. Even at a lower physical fidelity IVR simulators may more effectively train individuals on the operation of virtual heavy equipment compared to written, demonstrative, and oral computer-based training. This study examined how undergraduate students in a 4-year engineering technology (ET) program perceived their development of ET professional identities. A mixed-methods sequential explanatory design was used. In the first phase, an online survey was administered to all students in the program (N =146). The response rate was 32% (N = 47). The survey instrument contained ET and professional identity measures, along with demographic items. An exploratory factor analysis was conducted to examine the content validity of the measures of ET identity. Quantitative results indicated that students generally viewed themselves positively in terms of ET identity and professional identity. …

Precision agriculture continues to be prevalent within row-crop production. The purpose of this study was to investigate the adoption status of precision agricultural practices among selected row-crop (soybean, wheat, corn, cotton, peanuts, and rice) producers in Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Tennessee. Seventy-four percent of row-crop producers surveyed in this study had adopted precision agricultural practices in their farming operations. Eighty-three percent of respondents indicated they were using automated GPS technology such as autosteer, 66% were using manual guidance such as lightbar, 63% variable-rate prescription map, and 34% auto-sprayer boom section or nozzle control. In this dissertation, I conducted a multiple-probe-across-participants design to examine the impact of a video-based intervention on interview skills of youth with autism. First, I conducted a systematic literature review of interview interventions. Results were used to guide the development of this study’s measure and procedures. Finding that previous literature relied on rubric measures to rate interview skill behaviors, I developed and piloted a primary measure for examining direct speech production.
