This research examines the influence of peer groups in determining student career life. By using a quantitative approach, we aim to investigate the role of peer groups in Generation Z’s career exploration to respond to work transitions. The subjects of this study were 72 vocational high school students. Data collection was carried out using the Peer Group and Career Exploration scales which were developed by adapting the Likert scale. Our analysis results suggested that peer groups carry 57 percent effects on the participants’ career exploration of students. COVID-19 bears various traumatic impacts on students. This study aims to identify PTSD symptoms in junior and senior high school students after the COVID-19 outbreak. The study was conducted using a cross-sectional survey method. Meanwhile, the data was collected using a problem checklist instrument. Further, the obtained data were analyzed using non-parametric statistics with the Mann-Whitney test to identify differences in PTSD symptoms based on gender and level of education. The results of the analysis show that symptoms appear in every physical, emotional, mental, behavioral, and spiritual aspect. Camps provide a substantial opportunity for youth to develop important life skills. Identifying and training staff on critical competencies are essential to achieving the desired outcomes for camp participants. The purpose of this study was to determine the most critical competencies of the 4-H residential camp staff for achieving high staff performance. The modified Delphi technique was used to achieve study objectives. The Delphi panel of this study consisted of 23 4-H camping experts from across the United States. This three-round Delphi study led to identify 15 critical competencies that will be useful in standardizing 4-H camp staff training programs.

This project aims to educate others on the importance of language, show how language is often used to be covertly racist, and begin the process of setting educators on a new path towards language that is inclusive. The aspects of language that this project will break down are colorblind language, diversity language, and microaggressions. Once broken down we will address some ways to rebuild our language in a way that makes our students feel safe in our classrooms.

This longitudinal study examined the relationship between two formats of the basic communication course (BCC) and first-year college student retention over a four-year period. Chi-square and logistic regression models indicated students who completed the BCC were more likely to be retained than those who did not complete the BCC. While completing the BCC was associated with retention for both formats, the hybrid BCC format was more consistently related to retention than the public speaking BCC. The purpose of this research study was to identify heterogeneous counselor burnout profiles using a latent profile analysis (LPA) and examine the profiles in association with counselors’ personal and professional self-discrepancies in counselor qualities. Data from 360 practicing professional counselors were used for analysis. LPA identified four distinct profiles: Well-Adjusted Counselors (n = 167, 46.4%), Disconnected Counselors (n = 68, 18.9%), Impaired Counselors (n = 22, 6.1%), and Persevering Counselors (n = 103, 28.6%). The COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated challenges for many counseling students due to the threat of COVID-19 and the rapid shift to online learning, possibly resulting in increased mental health problems and dropout rates. This convergent mixed-methods study aimed to investigate the impact of COVID-19-related experiences and shift to online learning on (a) counseling students’ mental well-being, (b) academic experience, and (c) dropout intentions among a sample of 405 counseling students across 45 states. The objective of this study was to evaluate the scale's psychometric properties. The CRTM self-assessment instrument measures the six Critical Race Theory principles. This study analyzed the risk of burnout for school counselors in rural Appalachia by surveying school counselors in West Virginia. The specific research questions delved into the areas that may predict a higher risk of burnout. Undocumented students face myriad obstacles while attending higher education institutions that would deter them from completing their academic journeys. Furthermore, they are placed with a dual narrative that labels them as either dangerous or exceptional. This study explored the lived experiences of undocumented students in college in the San Diego-Tijuana border region to consider what factors have led to resilience and resistance in their academic journey. U.S. Census Bureau Report (2020c) showed Hispanic students constituted 18.5% of the U.S. population, 36% attended higher education and only 14% completed postsecondary education. Research has shown Hispanic, specifically Latinx, students faced barriers in accessing higher education’s hidden curriculum, compounded by deficit beliefs about their language, culture, and lack of family involvement (Kiyama, 2018; C.
