As originally conceived, this thesis would have defended a preferred marketing strategy for use in the United States for electrical impulse counters. Such as effort would have required the collection of sufficient data to permit the formulation and testing of a model of the market for electrical impulse counters. With a defensible model- -that is, a model of acceptable accuracy- -the extent to which each of several alternative marketing strategies might satisfy a specified set of objectives could have been evaluated. Since the passage of the National Banking Act of 1933, the right of banks to branch has been determined by state law. Prior to the passage of the Act, inconsistencies between federal and state legislation made the controversy over branch banking an issue of national prominence. The change in 1933 removed the disharmonies between state and federal law by allowing state law to be the determining one with respect to the right of banks to branch. IN West Australian agriculture there is a considerable "backlog" of information available to farmers which is not being used in practical farming. This, of course, is true of agricultural industries anywhere in the world.

This "backlog" results in a big difference in productivity between the best farms and the "average" farms in each district.

THE potential of the Wongan-Ballidu Shire to produce increased quantities of grain, wool, sheep and meat up to the year 2,000 was estimated and discussed in the first part of this article (see last issue).

As a result of the enactment of the Revenue Act of 1962, tax payers are required to take what is termed an investment credit as a deduction from their income tax liability which, in general, is equal to 7 per cent of the cost of certain depreciable property acquired during the year. It was the purpose of this study to investigate further the observed phenomenon of multiplicity of application of descriptive performance appraisal statements to many job families by testing the validity and factor patterns of these statements across a much broader segment of American business and industry. This was accomplished by asking a selected cross section of industrial, manufacturing and financial concerns; government agencies; and public utilities throughout the country to complete a questionnaire. All the data used in this study were obtained from the results of that survey.
