Han transcurrido diez años desde la publicación en 1999 del Postdramatisches Theater de Hans-Thies Lehmann, estudio influyente en el cual el teórico alemán señalaba una serie de actitudes y condiciones propias de las prácticas estéticas teatrales (occidentales) surgidas a partir de los años setenta que parecían sugerir un cambio de paradigma en cuanto a nuestra comprensión y nuestra experiencia del drama contemporáneo [Barnett, 2006: 484-487].
