การวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษานาฏกรรมในพิธีกรรมปัญโจลมะม็วด จังหวัดสุรินทร์ เป็นการวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพ โดยศึกษาข้อมูลจากเอกสาร การสัมภาษณ์ การสังเกตการณ์และการมีส่วนร่วม ผลการวิจัยพบว่า พิธีกรรมปัญโจลมะม็วด เป็นพิธีกรรมในการรักษาโรคตามคติความเชื่อของคนกลุ่มชาติพันธุ์เขมรว่าผู้ป่วยมีสิ่งชั่วร้ายเข้าสิง จึงต้องให้มะม็วดซึ่งเป็นสตรีในสายตระกูลเท่านั้นมาทำพิธีเข้าทรงเชิญวิญญาณศักดิ์สิทธิ์มากำจัดสิ่งชั่วร้ายนั้น พิธีมี 11 ขั้นตอน คือ 1. การปรับพื้นที่ตามฤกษ์ 2. การปลูกปะรำพิธี 3. การนำผู้ป่วยเข้าประจำที่ 4. การโหมโรงดนตรี 5. การไหว้วิญญาณศักดิ์สิทธิ์ 6. การรำเข้าทรงของมะม็วด 7. การรำกำจัดสิ่งชั่วร้าย 8. การรำเชิญวิญญาณศักดิ์สิทธิ์มาช่วยรักษา 9. การรำเชิญวิญญาณทั้งหมดกลับ 10. การรำเรียกขวัญผู้ป่วย 11.การรำลา นาฏกรรมในพิธีกรรมนี้ปรากฏอยู่ 3 วัตถุประสงค์ คือ 1. การรำบวงสรวง คือ การรำไหว้วิญญาณศักดิ์สิทธิ์ทั้งปวง 2. การรำรักษา คือ การรำดาบเพื่อฟันสิ่งชั่วร้าย 3. การรำเฉลิมฉลอง คือ การรำเพื่อยินดีกับผู้ป่วยที่รักษาหาย ผลการวิจัยเป็นประโยชน์ต่อการศึกษาด้านนาฏยศิลป์ไทย เป็นการอนุรักษ์และสืบทอดศิลปวัฒนธรรมท้องถิ่นให้คงอยู่ต่อไปและยังสามารถเชื่อมโยงไปสู่กระบวนการการสร้างความสามัคคี อันนำไปสู่ความสงบสุขร่มเย็นของสังคมไทย

การแสดงในงานศิลปวัฒธรรมอุดมศึกษา เป็นวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพ โดยมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษารูปแบบการแสดงในงานศิลปวัฒนธรรมอุดมศึกษา โดยขอบเขตการศึกษา คือ งานศิลปวัฒนธรรมอุดมศึกษา ครั้งที่ 1 – 19 ผู้วิจัยได้ใช้เครื่องมือในการวิจัย ได้แก่ 1) การสำรวจข้อมูลเชิงเอกสาร 2) การสัมภาษณ์บุคคล กลุ่มที่ 1 ที่ปรึกษางานศิลปวัฒนธรรมอุดมศึกษา กลุ่มที่ 2 สมาชิกเครือข่ายอุดมศึกษาทางด้านนาฏยศิลป์ กลุ่มที่ 3 นิสิต นักศึกษาที่ได้รวมงานศิลปวัฒนธรรมอุดมศึกษา 3) ใช้อุปกรณ์เทคโนโลยีสารสนเทศที่เกี่ยวข้อง 4) การลงพื้นที่ภาคสนาม ผลการวิจัยพบว่า การแสดงที่ปรากฏในงานศิลปวัฒนธรรมอุดมศึกษาครั้งที่ 1 – 19 ปรากฏการแสดง 5 ประเภท 23 รูปแบบการแสดง โดยการแสดงที่นำมาแสดงมากมากที่สุดถึงร้อยละ 62 ของการแสดงทั้งหมด คือการแสดงสร้างสรรค์นาฏยศิลป์พื้นบ้าน (ระบำ) โดยมีปัจจัยในการเลือกชุดการแสดง ดังนี้ 1) ความถนัด เอกลักษณ์ ทางด้านนาฏยศิลป์ของแต่ละมหาวิทยาลัย 2)สถานที่จัดงานและสถานที่จัดแสดง 3) งบประมาณ ด้วยปัจจัยต่าง ๆ ส่งผลให้โดยการแสดงที่นำมาแสดงคือการแสดงสร้างสรรค์นาฏยศิลป์พื้นบ้าน (ระบำ) สะท้อนให้เห็นถึงศักยภาพในความสามารถทางด้านการสร้างสรรค์นาฏยศิลป์ของแต่ละสถาบันที่เข้าร่วม ที่นำเอาวิถีชีวิต ภูมิปัญญา หรือการแสดงที่เคยมีอยู่แล้วนำมาสร้างสรรค์เป็นผลงงานทางด้านนาฏยศิลป์ และจากการศึกษาการจัดการการแสดงในงานศิลปวัฒนธรรมอุดมศึกษา พบว่าเป็นโครงการที่ตอบสนองนโยบาย ด้านการทำนุบำรุงศิลปะและวัฒนธรรม ทำให้เกิดการรวมตัวกัน เพื่อจัดงานศิลปวัฒนธรรมอุดมศึกษา โดยผลการประเมินการจัดงานในแต่ละครั้งมีผลการประเมินด้านตัวชี้วัดในทุกด้านอยู่ในระดับ ดี – ดีมาก และงานนี้ถือเป็นงานที่สร้างแรงบันดาลใจในการสร้างสรรค์ผลงานทางด้านศิลปวัฒนธรรม ด้านการอนุรักษ์การแสดงนาฏยศิลป์ที่เป็นแบบแผนตามแบบกรมศิลปากร เนื่องด้วยงานศิลปวัฒนธรรมอุดมศึกษาป็นงานที่ให้ว่าที่บัณฑิตได้ฝึกฝน การสร้างสรรค์ผลงาน การจัดการการแสดง การสร้างเครือข่ายทางด้านศิลปวัฒนธรรมเพิ่มขึ้นในอนาคต เพื่อเป็นการสืบทอด อนุรักษ์วัฒนธรรมไทยให้คงอยู่โดยคนรุ่นใหม่ และเป็นศูนย์รวมของบุคลากรวงการนาฏศิลป์ไทยได้พบปะแลกเปลี่ยนความคิดเห็น เพื่อพัฒนาผลงานทางด้านนาฏยศิลป์รูปแบบต่าง ๆ ต่อไปในอนาคต

การสร้างสรรค์งานนาฏยศิลป์เรื่องพระลอ ตอน “ศึกโหงพราย” มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาแนวคิดและขั้นตอนกระบวนการสร้างสรรค์การแสดงนาฏยศิลป์เรื่องพระลอ ตอน “ศึกโหงพราย”ตามแนวนิยมความเรียบง่าย และพัฒนาองค์ความรู้ด้านการถ่ายทอดความคิดและการสร้างสรรค์ลีลาท่าทางการแสดงนาฏยศิลป์ เรื่องพระลอ ตอน “ศึกโหงพราย” โดยอาศัยขอบเขตและหลักการแนวนิยมความเรียบง่ายเพื่อสร้างสรรค์ผลงาน โดยมีขั้นตอนในการสร้างสรรค์ทั้งหมด 8 ขั้นตอน ดังนี้ 1. การกำหนดกรอบแนวคิดหลักและขอบเขตเนื้อหาบทการแสดง 2. การกำหนดรูปแบบของการแสดง 3. การนำเสนอกรอบแนวคิดและรูปแบบการแสดง 4. การเลือกสรรดนตรี 5. การคัดเลือกนักแสดง 6. การคัดสรรอุปกรณ์ประกอบการแสดงและการออกแบบเครื่องแต่งกาย 7. การสร้างสรรค์ลีลาท่าทางและทดลองการแสดง 8. อภิปรายผลการวิจัยผลงานสร้างสรรค์นาฏยศิลป์เรื่องพระลอ ตอน “ศึกโหงพราย” ซึ่งปรากฏเป็นองค์ความรู้ในงานสร้างสรรค์นาฏยศิลป์ เรื่อง พระลอ ตอน ศึกโหงพราย โดยผลของการแสดงปรากฏว่าผู้ชมสามารถรับความรู้ที่เป็นใจความสำคัญผ่านการแสดงตามรูปแบบที่ผู้สร้างสรรค์ได้เลือกใช้ และตรงตามวัตถุประสงค์ตามแนวนิยมความเรียบง่ายอีกทั้งเป็นการเผยแพร่วรรณกรรมไทย เรื่อง พระลอ ในตอนที่ยังไม่มีปรากฎเป็นงานนาฏกรรมสู่สังคมไทยอีกด้วย

การศึกษาเรื่อง “วิทยาลัยนาฏศิลปเชียงใหม่กับการอนุรักษ์และพัฒนานาฏศิลป์ล้านนา” มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาแนวทางอนุรักษ์และพัฒนาการแสดงนาฏศิลป์แบบล้านนาของวิทยาลัยนาฏศิลปเชียงใหม่ มีขอบเขตของการวิจัย คือ ศึกษารูปแบบการฟ้อนแบบนาฏศิลป์ล้านนาในสายคุ้มพระราชชายาเจ้าดารารัศมี ที่วิทยาลัยนาฏศิลปเชียงใหม่ได้รับถ่ายทอด และการพัฒนาชุดการแสดงทั้ง 3 ช่วง ตั้งแต่ พ.ศ. 2514 จนถึง พ.ศ. 2561 รวมระยะเวลา 47 ปี ด้วยการเก็บรวบรวมข้อมูลแล้วนำมาวิเคราะห์และสังเคราะห์ข้อมูล จัดลำดับและเรียบเรียงข้อมูล และนำเสนอผลการวิจัย ผลการวิจัยพบว่า วิทยาลัยนาฏศิลปเชียงใหม่เป็นสถาบันการศึกษาด้านศิลปวัฒนธรรมของชาติ เป็นแหล่งรวบรวมศิลปวัฒนธรรมพื้นเมืองประจำภาคเหนือที่ “สร้างศาสตร์แห่งศิลป์” ด้วยการดำเนินการตามวิสัยทัศน์และพันธกิจที่กำหนดเป้าหมายสำคัญใน 2 ประเด็น คือ การอนุรักษ์และพัฒนา ด้วยการการสืบสาน สร้างสรรค์ และเผยแพร่ศิลปวัฒนธรรมผ่านนโยบายการบริหารงานของผู้บริหารสถานศึกษา นโยบายการบริหารงานของผู้บริหารสถานศึกษานั้นในด้านการอนุรักษ์และพัฒนาของวิทยาลัยนาฏศิลปเชียงใหม่จะให้ความสำคัญกับการถ่ายทอดองค์ความรู้นาฏศิลป์ล้านนา เริ่มต้นจากการเชิญช่างฟ้อนที่เคยอยู่ในคุ้มพระราชชายาเจ้าดารารัศมี และช่างฟ้อนที่มีความสามารถเข้ามาถ่ายทอดรูปแบบการฟ้อนรำให้กับนักเรียน นักศึกษา ครู อาจารย์ แล้วนำนาฏศิลป์ล้านนาที่ได้รับถ่ายทอดมาบรรจุไว้ในหลักสูตร ต่อมาเมื่อยุคสมัยเปลี่ยนไปคณาจารย์จึงได้มีการสร้างสรรค์นาฏศิลป์ล้านนาชุดใหม่ เพื่อตอบสนองความต้องการของสังคมแล้วนำการแสดงนาฏศิลป์ล้านนาออกเผยแพร่ สู่สาธารณชนในโอกาสสำคัญ ๆ ซึ่งเป็นไปตามนโยบายการบริหารงานของผู้บริหารสถานศึกษา อีกทั้งการจัดโครงการและกิจกรรมต่าง ๆ ตามที่ได้รับงบประมาณสนับสนุนจากสถาบันบัณฑิตพัฒนศิลป์ เพื่อให้ครู อาจารย์สร้างสรรค์นาฏศิลป์ล้านนาชุดใหม่ ๆ โดยผ่านกระบวนการวิจัยสร้างสรรค์ สิ่งที่สำคัญอีกประการหนึ่งคือการส่งเสริมให้นักศึกษาสร้างสรรค์นาฏศิลป์ล้านนาในรายวิชาศิลปนิพนธ์ ถือเป็นการพัฒนา ต่อยอดองค์ความรู้เดิมให้มีความแปลกใหม่ ทันสมัยเข้ากับยุคสมัย แต่ยังคงรักษาของเดิมไว้ไม่ให้สูญหาย นอกจากนี้ยังมีการนำนาฏศิลป์ล้านนาออกถ่ายทอดให้กับสถานศึกษาอื่น ๆ เพื่อเป็นการอนุรักษ์นาฏศิลป์ล้านนาให้คงอยู่สืบไป วิทยาลัยนาฏศิลปเชียงใหม่จึงเป็นองค์กรทางด้านศิลปวัฒนธรรม ซึ่งมีพันธกิจสำคัญอย่างยิ่งในการรักษาศิลปวัฒนธรรม เพื่อให้มีการสืบทอดต่อไปยังอนาคต ด้วยการสร้างคน สร้างศาสตร์ และบริการสังคม อีกทั้งองค์ความรู้เดิมมาพัฒนาเพื่อสนองการเปลี่ยนแปลงอย่างไม่หยุดยั้ง

การเขียนบทละครเพลงว่าด้วยเรื่องเล่าเกี่ยวกับชีวิตของจิตร ภูมิศักดิ์, นฤทธิ์ ปาเฉย

งานวิจัยนี้ศึกษาวิธีการเขียนบทละครเพลงว่าด้วยเรื่องเล่าเกี่ยวกับชีวิตของจิตร ภูมิศักดิ์ โดยใช้การนำเสนอรูปแบบละครเพลง (musical theatre) และใช้วิธีการนำเสนอแบบหลายโครงเรื่อง (multiple plots) เพื่อแสดงให้เห็นว่าเรื่องเล่าเกี่ยวกับชีวิตของจิตร ภูมิศักดิ์ ถูกผลิตขึ้นและนำไปใช้ด้วยวัตถุประสงค์ที่แตกต่างกัน การยึดติดบุคคลต้นแบบที่ผ่านการประกอบสร้างจากเรื่องเล่า อาจทำให้เกิดความแตกแยกทางความคิดในสังคมที่บานปลายสู่การใช้ความรุนแรงได้ ผู้วิจัยศึกษาแนวคิดเกี่ยวกับการผลิตเรื่องเล่า ละครเพลง การเขียนบทละครเพลง การเขียนคำร้องในละครเพลงและวิธีการนำเสนอแบบหลายโครงเรื่อง จากนั้นจึงดำเนินการเขียนบทละครเพลงร่างที่ 1 โดยพัฒนาบทละครเพลงจากการจัดแสดงในรูปแบบการอ่าน (stage reading) แล้วนำความคิดเห็นของผู้ชมมาประมวล เพื่อพัฒนาเป็นบทละครเพลงร่างที่ 2 ก่อนนำเข้าสู่กระบวนการผลิตและจัดแสดงอย่างเต็มรูปแบบ จากการประเมินผลการวิจัยผ่านการจัดแสดงอย่างเต็มรูปแบบ ผู้วิจัยได้ข้อสรุปว่า การนำเสนอด้วยรูปแบบละครเพลงสามารถส่งเสริมการถ่ายทอดประเด็นสำคัญของเรื่องที่เต็มไปด้วยความขัดแย้งทางความคิดในประเด็นทางสังคมและการเมือง ด้วยการยกระดับประสบการณ์ทางอารมณ์ของผู้ชมควบคู่ไปกับการทำงานทางความคิด และการใช้วิธีการนำเสนอแบบหลายโครงเรื่อง โดยออกแบบปฏิสัมพันธ์ของเหตุการณ์บนโครงเรื่องตามวัตถุประสงค์ของบทละครเพลง สามารถกระตุ้นความคิดเชิงวิพากษ์ (critical thinking) ของผู้ชมให้มีต่อเรื่องราวและประเด็นสำคัญของเรื่อง และเผยให้เห็นการประกอบสร้างบุคคลต้นแบบผ่านเรื่องเล่า รวมถึงอิทธิพลชองการสืบทอดอุดมการณ์ทางการเมืองผ่านบุคคลต้นแบบ

Class/Act: Embodied Practices for Performative Pedagogy is a personal and practical exploration of embodiment’s role in higher education acting pedagogy. In my thesis, I propose that embodied acting practices rooted in phenomenology and corporeal dramaturgy surpass conventional acting curricula. Embodied training is often confused with movement curricula and is regularly considered a shallow and/or unintelligent means to approaching acting work. However, I will argue the efficiency and effectiveness of embodied teaching techniques in four parts. This thesis explores the current state of voice and speech education to discover if there is a standard of learning from university to university. By examining the history of voice and speech, discovering basic skills, breaking down teaching methodologies, and taking a look at current university and conservatory acting programs, the thesis discovers there is not a standard way of teaching, but there is a standard set of skills that should be upheld when planning voice and speech curriculum.

Professional dance careers require years of intensive training. Stress experienced during training must be balanced with adequate recovery to prevent overtraining and burnout. Little is known, however, about how dancers achieve recovery–stress balance. This study examined dancers’ recollection of stress and recovery during their vocational dance training to identify potential stressors and recovery behaviors in vocational dance training. Twelve current and ex-professional ballet (n=4) and contemporary dancers (n=8) participated in the study. Four general dimensions, based on the extant overtraining literature in athletes, were identified: dance culture, intrapersonal, interpersonal, and situational factors. Borrowing from Cixous’ ‘State of Drawingness’ (1993), this article proposes a ‘State of Dancingness’ as method of inhabiting the practice of writing as dancing. Understanding the dancing body as a place of virtuosic attention, the practice of writing is activated as a ‘continuation’ of dancing; neither as creative response or description but as frame for housing (staging) emergent content. Introduction: Recent three-dimensional (3D) kinematic research has revealed foot abduction is the strongest predictor of standing functional and forced turnout postures. However, it is still unknown how the internal foot joints enable a large degree of foot abduction in turnout. The primary purpose of this study was to use a dance specific multi-segment foot model to determine the lower leg and foot contributions to turnout that female university-level ballets use to accentuate their turnout. Methods: Eighteen female dance students (mean age, 18.8 ± 1.6 years) volunteered for this study. Retro-reflective markers were attached to the dancers' dominant foot. Each dancer …

This study explores the opinions and behaviors related to hearing loss and hearing loss prevention in the demographic of theatre workers at Theatre UNI. Data was collected through a survey dispersed in a department-wide email and by measuring sound level in the scene shop and the costume studio. Survey responses from 11 participants indicated that theatre workers at Theatre UNI may be at risk for noise-induced hearing loss and that further education may aid in prevention of hearing damage.

In the summer of 2018, an emerging theatre company produced Stop Kiss by Diana Son in Waterloo, Iowa, a mid-size industrial town adjacent to the city of Cedar Falls, which hosts a small public university. In Stop Kiss, the two lead characters are women fall romantically for each other, so that in performing their characters the actors embody same-sex sexuality. This paper will explore how the actors playing these two characters engaged with this embodiment, and how doing so affected them.

This particular production’s lighting design approach consisted of modern design ideas and aesthetics, while remaining true to the classic idea of 2 forces working against one another. Focusing on the major themes in The Magic Flute, the lighting design reinforces the feelings of fear, despair, hope and ultimately enlightenment. Clinical Practice in Athletic Training

Healthy athletes commonly engage in pre-participation warm-up strategies designed to physiologically and mechanically prepare the body for training and competition. Alterations in rotational range of motion (ROM) of the dominant shoulder in overhead athletes, resulting in total rotation ROM loss, correlate with performance deficit, injury risk, and lost training time. Researchers have suggested that interventions using Total Motion Release® (TMR®) increase shoulder ROM more effectively than traditional warm-up methods. With the premise to ‘write like I dance,’ Writing as dancing investigates new methods of accessing and revealing choreographic thinking in three distinct ways; writing as a soloist, writing for the ensemble and writing responsively in collaboration. Resulting iterations have variously emerged in the form of performance, novella, play, artist-book, exhibition and long form poem; the novella The Dancer in Your Hands, being the primary solo work presented alongside this exegesis.

Achieving elite level performance in dance requires intensive training and physical demands that may put dancers at risk of underrecovery and overtraining if not balanced with adequate recovery. Dancers have been shown to be susceptible to overtraining and burnout (Koutedakis, 2000), however, little is known about how dancers balance training and non-training stress with recovery to counteract negative training outcomes. When James VI of Scotland and I of England proclaimed himself King of Great Britain, he proposed a merger of the English and Scottish parliaments, and he looked to Henry VIII’s Acts of Union of England and Wales (1536/43) as an example for English Scottish union under one king. On the London stage after 1603 many plays paid tribute to the new king and provided a predominantly English audience a means of accepting the not so palatable ideas of Scottish power, assimilation and unity.
