La Adaptación Y El Cine Teatralizado: Ordet De Kaj Munk Y Carl Theodor Dreyer, Miguel Olea Romacho

El presente artículo aborda el estudio comparado del drama de Kaj Munk Ordet y la adaptación homónima al cine de Carl Th. Dreyer. El recurso al concepto de “reescritura fílmica” nos permite entender la relación de adaptación entre ambas obras de forma comprensiva, atendiendo a los procesos de remediación que llevan a la creación de un “cine teatralizado”. Igualmente, en la idea de reescritura se sostiene el análisis de las derivaciones ideológicas que abren el texto literario original al laicismo y a la ambigüedad poética en su versión cinematográfica.

Black Star, Other Fetishized: Carlos Acosta, Ballet’S New Cosmopolitanism, And Desire In The Age Of Institutional Diversity, Lester Tomé

Focusing on Carlos Acosta, the Cuban performer who became the first black principal dancer of London’s Royal Ballet, this chapter proposes that a new cosmopolitanism characterizes contemporary ballet. Such cosmopolitanism, informed by the institutionalization of diversity, is achieved through the presence of Latin American and Asian dancers in European and North American companies. Inclusion of the subaltern lends these institutions an image of multiculturalism and globality that increases their social capital. Yet, ballet’s new cosmopolitanism impels subaltern dancers to negotiate the fraught politics of moving from the periphery to the center, where they find themselves both valued and devalued for …

This paper represents the final culmination of a theater senior project. The project consisted of an analytical research paper, performance in a mainstage department production, and supporting process documentation. I portrayed Myrrha, Hunger, Zeus, and others in a production of the play Metamorphoses.

Through research on Mary Zimmerman’s 1998 play Metamorphoses, adapted from the works of Roman poet Ovid, this thesis grapples with the historical meaning of the myth of Myrrha. My intention in this performance is to create a therapeutic theatrical process for myself and engage the audience with intense emotional vulnerability regarding the combination and validation of the nobody and performative self. In 1994 Rwanda was the scene of genocide, or, more precisely in French, it was Ie theatre dugenocide (theater of genocide). Perpetrators and victims played their role while the rest of the world watched the "spectacle" live on television. Perhaps because of its spectacular aspect, the Rwandan genocide has inspired a number of artistic materials. In the last decade we have indeed witnessed the growth of literary and artistic expression in relation to the Rwandan genocide. Survivors and witnesses have told their stories in books and songs. Introduction: Dementia is a condition that modern medicine is ill-equipped to address, and to which art may have much to offer. This project combines reflective and creative processes in a theater collaboration between patients, caregivers, and healthcare students. The goal was to explore the ways in which theater can heal, and to better understand the patient experience of dementia.

Methods: I worked with Teya Sepinuck on this project. We met with participants individually to conduct interviews about personal stories and held group workshops to explore our collective story. We worked with a percussionist and composer to explore accompanying music. …

วิทยานิพนธ์เรื่องการแสดงในขบวนแห่เทียนพรรษาจังหวัดอุบลราชธานี มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาความเป็นมาและรูปแบบการแสดงในขบวนแห่เทียนพรรษาจังหวัดอุบลราชธานี ผู้วิจัยใช้วิธีการวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพ โดยศึกษาข้อมูลจากเอกสาร งานวิจัยที่เกี่ยวข้อง การสัมภาษณ์กลุ่มตัวอย่าง และการสังเกตการณ์แบบไม่มีส่วนร่วม ผลการวิจัยพบว่า การแสดงในขบวนแห่เทียนพรรษาจังหวัดอุบลราชธานี ได้มีการพัฒนามาอย่างต่อเนื่อง ตั้งแต่ พ.ศ. 2444–2562 เป็นระยะเวลา 118 ปี โดยเริ่มจากการรวมตัวของชาวบ้านแห่นำเทียนพรรษาประกอบการร้องรำทำเพลงไปถวายพระสงฆ์ยังวัดพัฒนามาเป็นการแสดงหมู่เป็นชุด ๆ ในลักษณะขบวนเคลื่อนไปตามเส้นทางบนถนน โดยแบ่งการแสดงออกเป็น 2 ช่วง คือ 1. การแสดงในขบวนแห่เทียนพรรษาภาคกลางวัน จัดแสดงในวันเข้าพรรษา สามารถจำแนกรูปแบบการแสดงออกเป็น 3 รูปแบบ ได้แก่ การแสดงพื้นบ้านในลักษณะไม่ตายตัว การแสดงพื้นเมืองอีสาน และการแสดงร่วมสมัย 2. การแสดงในขบวนแห่เทียนพรรษาประกอบแสงเสียงภาคกลางคืน มีที่มาจากการนำรูปแบบขบวนแห่เทียนพรรษาภาคกลางวันมาผสมกับการแสดงแสงเสียง จัดแสดงทั้งหมด 2 วัน คือ คืนวันอาสาฬหบูชา และคืนวันเข้าพรรษา เป็นการแสดงรูปแบบพื้นเมืองอีสานประกอบการแสดงเรื่องราว เนื้อหาของการแสดงจะสัมพันธ์กับหัวข้อหลักของการแสดงที่ถูกกำหนดขึ้น การแสดงทั้ง 2 ช่วงนี้จะสะท้อนถึงประเพณี พิธีกรรม ความเชื่อ ศิลปวัฒนธรรมท้องถิ่น วิถีการดำรงชีวิต การละเล่น โบราณวัตถุ และการเทิดพระเกียรติ ผ่านองค์ประกอบของการแสดง งานวิจัยฉบับนี้นอกจากจะเป็นการเผยแพร่ศิลปวัฒนธรรมเชิงพุทธศิลป์อันเป็นเอกลักษณ์ของจังหวัดอุบลราชธานีแล้ว ยังเป็นประโยชน์ทางด้านการสร้างสรรค์การแสดง และด้านการศึกษาทั้งในสถาบันการศึกษาและผู้ที่ศึกษาเชิงวิชาชีพในประเทศไทยต่อไป

This article surveys how contemporary Broadway musicals cast fat women and focuses on Hairspray. The use of fat suits and contractual weight clauses figure into the discussion of fat stigma and casting practices. Seemingly body-positive musicals both celebrate and undermine the identities staged in them.

The Use Of Personality Testing In Personnel Selection, Riya Kumar

Research has shown that more than 45% of American companies are opting to integrate personality tests in their recruitment processes. Given this surge in personality testing, this thesis examines whether personality testing is a valid predictor of job-fit and performance in the context of personnel selection. A large proportion of this paper is focused upon the Big-Five factor model, its limitations, and derivative tests of the model. The impact of technology upon personality testing is also discussed as an emerging field.
