The Thai Journal of Veterinary Medicine
ศึกษาสภาพภูมิคุ้มโรคอหิวาต์สุกรในฝูงพ่อแม่พันธุ์ 2 หน่วย จำนวน 197 ตัว ในจังหวัดชลบุรี โดยตรวจซีรั่มด้วยวิธีไมโครนิวทราลไลเซชั่นอิมมูโนฟลูออเรสเซนต์ พบว่า ระดับภูมิคุ้มกันเฉลี่ยเปรียบเทียบตามลำดับครอกในแม่พันธุ์ ตามอายุในพ่อพันธุ์ และตามระยะเวลาหลังฉีดวัคซีน ครั้งล่าสุดก่อนเก็บเลือด ไม่มีความแตกต่างกันอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติ (p>0.05) โดยภูมิคุ้มกันเฉลี่ยรวมทุกกลุ่มของแม่พันธุ์และพ่อพันธุ์มีค่าเท่ากับ 67.4+ 2.7 และ 51.5+3.1 ตามลำดับ

ไก่กระทงอายุ 23 วัน ได้รับเชื้อ อี. โคลัย ซีโรไทป์ 078 เข้าถุงลม โดยกลุ่มที่ 1 ได้รับเชื้อพร้อมกับยาเอ็นโรฟลอกซาซิน 10 มิลลิกรัมต่อน้ำหนักตัว 1 กิโลกรัมต่อวัน กลุ่มที่ 2 ได้รับ เชื้อพร้อมกับยาอีริโทรมัยซิน 100 พีพีเอ็ม ให้ยาทั้งสองชนิดโดยผสมน้ำกินติดต่อกัน 3 วัน ไก่กลุ่มที่ 3 ได้รับเชื้อโดยไม่ได้รับยาใดๆ ส่วนกลุ่มที่ 4 ไม่ได้รับเชื้อและไม่ได้รับยา อัตรารอดตาย และน้ำหนักตัวเฉลี่ย ในช่วง 10 วันนับจากได้รับเชื้อของกลุ่มที่ 1 ไม่มีความแตกต่างกันอย่างมี นัยสำคัญกับกลุ่มที่ 4 แต่มีความแตกต่างอย่างมีนัยสำคัญกับกลุ่มที่ 2 และ 3

A Study On Water Purity Using Electrical Conductivity(ความบริสุทธิ์ของน้ำดื่มน้ำใช้), Prasert Songkittiguna, Kriwal Wattoom
Chulalongkorn University Dental Journal
A study on the electrical conductivity, pH and bacterial cultures, the water purity is determined. Results are shown that the rain water during 2534 B.E. is much more polluted than 2533 B.E. Interestingly, the acidity of the rain water is approximately the same as the distillated water obtained from the Department of Pharmacology, Faculty of Dentistry, Chulalongkorn University. However, the distilled water displays the lowest electrical conductivity; it was one- tenth of the standard value of pharmaceutical or laboratory water set by the British Pharmacopoeia. The aim of this study was to investigate the influence of eating habits on dental caries status of school children from low socio-economic families. The study was carried out in 2 groups of the compulsory school children aged 9 and 12 years. Each group was comprised of 210, equal number of boys and girls, and normally distributed by accidental quota sampling. Caries status (DMFT) were examined by a dentist whereas the preceding 24 hour dietary consumption was interviewed by a nutritionist. A study was made of the prevalence of interproximal caries of the mesial of the central incisors which are in the same environment, the incidence of the interproximal caries is generally assumed to be the same. However, this was not found so in every case. The research methodology involved collecting data from x-ray films of the central incisors of 947 subjects. These were 10 to 59-year-old patients at the Faculty of Dentistry, Chulalongkorn University during 1987-1989. The objective of this study is to determine knowledge, attitude and infection control practice of dentists on AIDS and the care for AIDS/HIV patients. Self-administered questionnaires were mailed to the dentists whom were selected by using simple random simpling technique from the list of dentists in Bangkok. In addition, questionnaires were distributed to the dentists at the meeting in Bangkok. The knowledge and attitude about periodontal disease of 100 regularly attending patients each in general dental practices of government and private hospitals in Bangkok were examined. In both groups, the patients had correct information concerning the importance in having healthy teeth and gum, frequently visit dentist and proper force used in brushing, but had incorrect information about plaque and etiology of periodontal disease. Private hospital group was more knowledgeable than government hospital group (p < 0.05). The difference in patient knowledge and attitude may be influenced by age, sex, occupation and incomes. The results indicate that additional education in periodontal disease is still needed during dental practice.(งานวิจัยนี้เป็นการศึกษาถึงความรู้และทัศนคติเกี่ยวกับโรคปริทันต์ของผู้ป่วยที่มารับบริการในแผนกทันตกรรมของโรงพยาบาลของรัฐบาล และโรงพยาบาลเอกชน ในเขตกรุงเทพมหานคร จํานวนกลุ่มละ 100 คน ผู้ป่วยทั้งสองกลุ่มมีความรู้ที่ถูกต้องในประเด็นที่ว่า สุขภาพเหงือกและฟันเป็นสิ่งสําคัญ ควรไปพบทันตแพทย์เป็นประจํา และการใช้แรงที่เหมาะสมในการแปรงฟัน แต่พบว่ามีความรู้เกี่ยวกับแผ่นคราบจุลินทรีย์ หรือสาเหตุของการเกิดโรคปริทันต์น้อยมาก อย่างไรก็ตาม ผู้ป่วยกลุ่มโรงพยาบาลเอกชนจะมีความรู้และทัศนคติที่ถูกต้องมากกว่าผู้ป่วยกลุ่มโรงพยาบาลรัฐบาล (P < 0.05) ซึ่งความแตกต่างของระดับความรู้และทัศนคติดังกล่าวอาจเป็นผลมากจาก อายุ เพศ อาชีพ และรายได้ของผู้ป่วย จากผลการวิจัยครั้งนี้แสดงให้เห็นว่า ยังคงมีความจําเป็นต้องให้ความรู้เกี่ยวกับโรคปริทันต์แก่ผู้ป่วยให้มากขึ้นในขณะบําบัดรักษาทางทันตกรรม)

Objective of research was to study satisfaction of dental assistances, Faculty of Dentistry, Chulalongkorn University. The samples were 37 dental assistances working at Faculty of Dentistry, Chulalongkorn University, who filled out the questionnaire regarding job satisfaction during November 1991. The result indicated that the dental assistances were highly satisfied with job administration, relationship with associates, job security, job progress, and income; and were moderately satisfied with nature of job, circumstances of job and welfare. Gingival recession and periodontal treatment commonly lead to the exposure of root surfaces and dentinal hypersensitivity which can be described by hydrodynamic theory. These hypersensitive teeth may limit effective plaque control and make them increase in sensitivity. There are many agents recommended for the treatment of this phenomena, but unfortunately there is no ideal agent that fits for every patients.
