The study was designed to investigate the relationship between social influence and facilitating conditions and the behavioural intention to use, and actual use of ICT tools among registry staff of University of Ibadan, Oyo State. Five hypotheses were formulated and tested at 0.05 level of significance. Survey design was adopted. Two hundred and sixty registry staff participated in the study. Data were obtained with a validated structured questionnaire. Collected data were analysed using frequency distribution, Pearson’s correlation, multiple regression and moderated multiple regression. This study examined the usage of electronic information resources (EIRs) for improved nursing research and health-care delivery in Nigeria. A descriptive survey method was used for the study. The population consisted of 120 nursing and midwifery students and 5 healthcare providers at Grimmard School of Nursing and Midwifery, Anyigba, Kogi State of Nigeria totalling 125. Five (5) research questions guided the conduct of this study. Analysis and discussion of the study were based on major findings of the study. This study set out to investigate the reference service provision at the National Film and Television Institute (NAFTI), Ghana from the perspective of users. This study assesses the service delivery quality using SERVQUAL to predict library users' intention to revisit Delta State Polytechnic Library, Ogwashi-Uku. Ultimately, the survey helps improve the quality of library services by informing the development and rollout of initiatives that address the concerns voiced by the polytechnic community. The working population of the study was 4545 library users in Delta state Polytechnic, Ogwashi-uku. A sample size of 354 was achieved using Wimmer and Dominick's sample size calculator. This talk will consider the marginalization of scholars and other stakeholders in the Global South and how local publishing infrastructure is critical to recalibrating imbalances. The Latin American ethos and practice of bibliodiversity, or scholarly self-determination, is a precondition for the decolonialization of knowledge. Accordingly, predatory publishing is minimal in Latin America which has its own publishing infrastructures. Library publishing, which supports bibliodiversity, represents an important path towards much needed free to authors or diamond open access. Librarians play a critical role in educating editors and fostering publishing best practices.

It's Harder Than It Looks: How Students Identify Original Research Articles In An Undergraduate Biology Course, Alyssa Russo, Amy Jankowski

University Libraries & Learning Sciences Faculty and Staff Publications

Biology students must develop a foundational understanding about the role information plays in the scientific research process. Key to this is understanding that original research articles are the primary method of communicating findings from original scientific research. We analyzed data from an information literacy tutorial and worksheet integrated in a core undergraduate biology course to investigate how students identify original research articles. Our results suggest that students conceptually comprehend original research, but they need practice at identifying original research articles in real time and benefit from librarian feedback when they are actively searching for and selecting articles.

This study aims to investigate the response of Visual art teachers to educational lockdown and shift to online learning at art institutions. The study employed qualitative phenomenological research design to investigate visual artists i.e., painters, sculptors, textile designers, graphic designers, and performing artists who were faculty members in five leading art institutions of Lahore. Data were collected by conducting a total of 15 interviews from each mentioned discipline. These interviews were conducted preferably in their studios, at their homes, or at times online through WhatsApp video calls. The data was analyzed thematically by using NVIVO 12 software.

In examining Gold Open Access Publishing at our university we discovered that after a library-sponsored Open Access Publishing Fund was created in 2017 that rates of science and engineering publication went up 176% In Engineering the percentage rate of increase from 2017 was 200%. Of the 46 Gold Open Access publications awarded since fund was created in 2017 33 were in science and engineering. Disciplinary differences in the rates of Gold Open Access publishing are also shared to help librarians focus on which disciplines are more inclined to publish in Gold Open Access journals.
