On April 5th, 2005, the first article was deposited in Digital Commons@TMC. Since then, more than 34,000 items have been added, including dissertations/theses and projects, archival materialsfrom John P. McGovern Historical Collections & Research Center and content from seven open access peer-reviewed academic journals hosted on the platform.

World Immunization Week, celebrated in the last week of April, highlights the collective action needed and to promote the use of vaccines to protect people of all ages against disease. This year, it takes place from April 24-30, 2025. The goal of World Immunization Week is for more individuals and communities are protected from vaccine-preventable diseases.

Psychiatry Online offers premium content from the American Psychiatric Association (APA) including specialized textbooks, journals, patient guides and professional development tools, and the indispensable DSM-5.

Also included is the Psychotherapy Library, a collection of over 20 ebooks on behavioral health and therapy, along with accompanying instructional videos. PsycARTICLES nearly 200,000 full-text, peer-reviewed articles published by the APA.

This stems from the beginning of the second Trump Administration as its nominees navigate this process. The presentation provides historical background on this process, demonstrates what nominees, Senate oversight committees, and the full Senate in administering this process and enables readers to find out how to access information resources documenting this process. Restoring School Librarians: Challenges And Strategies, Debrah E. Kachel

The article examines efforts to restore school librarian positions across eleven urban U.S. school districts, despite significant financial and administrative obstacles. It documents strategies used by district library leaders to advocate for staffing, funding, and policy changes, emphasizing equity in access to certified school librarians. Through structured interviews and analysis, the report highlights key barriers, advocacy methods, and funding mechanisms that have influenced school library staffing. The study's findings contribute to the ongoing discourse on educational equity and policy reform in K-12 library services.

Enemies Within The Gates: Contending With Internal Censorship Challenges, Jason D. Phillips

This chapter explores the rarely discussed but impactful issue of internal censorship within academic libraries, focusing on challenges to LGBTQ+ materials. Drawing on personal experiences at a regional public university in the American South, the author recounts multiple instances where library staff and leadership acted in ways that undermined the inclusion of LGBTQ+ resources. These incidents ranged from quietly removing or hiding books to resisting the addition of LGBTQ+ periodicals and graphic novels, and even denying purchase requests without explanation. The chapter underscores how fear of controversy, personal bias, and institutional conservatism can result in "soft censorship," despite the profession's …

This chapter explores the critical role of collection development policies in libraries, particularly in supporting and defending LGBTQ+ collections. The authors argue that a robust, regularly updated, and transparent collection development policy is essential for ensuring equitable representation and resisting censorship. They emphasize that such policies must account for the needs of historically underserved communities, including LGBTQ+ populations, and serve as tools for advocacy and defense against internal and external challenges.

Making The Most Of Artificial Intelligence And Large Language Models To Support Collection Development In Health Sciences Libraries, Ivan Portillo, David Carson

This project investigated the potential of generative AI models in aiding health sciences librarians with collection development. Researchers at Chapman University’s Harry and Diane Rinker Health Science campus evaluated four generative AI models—ChatGPT 4.0, Google Gemini, Perplexity, and Microsoft Copilot—over six months starting in March 2024. Two prompts were used: one to generate recent eBook titles in specific health sciences fields and another to identify subject gaps in the existing collection. The first prompt revealed inconsistencies across models, with Copilot and Perplexity providing sources but also inaccuracies. The second prompt yielded more useful results, with all models offering helpful analysis …
