What you see here are artifacts or documents or images that are not part of an exhibit, and what is here may change periodically. Since we cannot show it all, Open Storage is another way of sharing more of the things in our physical collections. We have modelled this approach from other museums and archives.

The Society of American Archivists (SAA) and its members have conducted numerous surveys of the archival profession—both of archivists as individuals and of archival institutions—through the years. In 1949, the College and University Archives Committee of SAA conducted the first survey specifically of college and university archives. Library Philosophy and Practice (e-journal)

This study examined the usage of electronic information resources (EIRs) for improved nursing research and health-care delivery in Nigeria. A descriptive survey method was used for the study. The population consisted of 120 nursing and midwifery students and 5 healthcare providers at Grimmard School of Nursing and Midwifery, Anyigba, Kogi State of Nigeria totalling 125. Five (5) research questions guided the conduct of this study. Analysis and discussion of the study were based on major findings of the study. The results revealed that, nursing and midwifery students sourced e-resources through online databases, smart phones, institutional repositories and search engines. The …

The Elwin L. Shelton, Jr., MD papers consists largely of materials related to his professional life, such as presentations and publications, published and unpublished papers, and accreditations. There are copies of Medical Director's Notebook from 1957-1960. There are also materials on topics such as philosophy, hypnosis, intestinal by-pass, GI, breast, and peritoneal dialysis research. Some items pertain to the Texas Surgical Society, Southern Society of Clinical Surgeons, and Houston Gastroenterological Society. The collection ranges in dates from 1948-1990. See more at MS 082.

There is also an audio recording of an interview with Dr. Pruessner from 1998. Items date from 1964 to 1998, with most of them corresponding to his time in Houston, Texas. See more at MS 083.

Creating and managing institutional repositories using tools like Digital Commons can seem large and intimidating at first, but you too can train these monsters to do your bidding! The UGA Law Library will discuss three strategies we've used to be more efficient, create new workflows, and increase public discoverability by partnering with state and national digital libraries. We will focus on the ingestion of law school journals, digitization of historical photographs, recordings, and treatises, and the metadata to facilitate wider access.
