An Examination Of Online Volunteers' Organizational And Work-Group Identification And Intent To Leave: A Case Study Of Ocef, Wei Huang

This study examined the relationships among organizational identification,work-group identification and intent to leave of online volunteers in a nonprofit organization—OCEF. A total of 245 participants completed the online questionnaire. Consonant with previous research findings, organizational identification and work-group identification has positive relationships; however, the hypothesis that both organizational identification and work-group identification negatively predict intent to leave of online volunteers was not supported in the present study. Furthermore, the level of organizational identification and work-group identification of online volunteers were high, but did not have difference in this study.

This article shows the experiences of six young people from Yogyakarta who struggle in the process of school to work transition. These young people creatively implemented long term strategy both inside and outside the field of education They accumulate various kind of capitals so that it can be converted in the future. All of the informants are from middle class background. The result shows they still get benefits from strategies and capital that they had previously created. This paper tries to enrich three perspectives for the study of creative industry, cultural entrepreneurship, social contract, and contextual knowledge, by employing an institutional approach and argues that institutional embbededness plays a vital role in promoting creative fashion distro (distribution store) in Bandung that historically well-known city of fashion. Qualitative method has been used to collect data from various informants. This study reveals that disembeddedness between state and creative fashion business and within society of fashion become a mayor feature of the business. Cultural and social capital is important in the development of industrial cluster of ceramic art craft. This paper describes and explains the role of cultural and social capital in the development of industrial cluster of ceramic art craft in Kasongan. This paper also describes and explains the dynamics of domination and resistance among entrepreneurs in the cluster. By using qualitative research methods show that cultural capital is important for the change of the cluster from the one which produce traditional-functional ceramic to the one which produce artistic ceramic. Moving Beyond Themes: Reimagining The Qualitative Analysis Curriculum, Kristen Lucas, Suzy D'Enbeau

Faculty and Staff Scholarship

Teaching novice qualitative researchers how to move beyond first-cycle themes is a challenging endeavor. In this essay, we articulate four harmful habits that tend to impede our success: moving too quickly, privileging product over process, providing cursory coverage of analytic technique and artistry, and overlooking the role of synthesis in qualitative research. As a step toward replacing harmful habits with more healthy ones, we offer a number of practical suggestions for reimagining the qualitative research methods curriculum.

Persuasive Strategies And Hats Off For Cancer Donations, Janae Masnovi

This quantitative research project set out to answer the question, “What type of advertising strategy, logos, ethos, or pathos, will be most effective in increasing donations to Hats Off for Cancer, a nonprofit organization?” By administering a survey including manufactured advertisements to potential donors through the Hats Off for Cancer e-newsletter, the Hats Off for Cancer Facebook page, and my own Facebook network, I received 44 responses. These responses indicated the participants’ involvement with the organization as well as their preferred advertising strategies and their reasoning for this. 79 percent of respondents felt that the advertisement using pathos was most …
