Ideal Theory In Bck/Bci-Algebras In The Frame Of Hesitant Fuzzy Set Theory, G. Muhiuddin, Habib Harizavi, Young Bae Jun 2020 University of Tabuk

Ideal Theory In Bck/Bci-Algebras In The Frame Of Hesitant Fuzzy Set Theory, G. Muhiuddin, Habib Harizavi, Young Bae Jun

Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM)

Several generalizations and extensions of fuzzy sets have been introduced in the literature, for example, Atanassov’s intuitionistic fuzzy sets, type 2 fuzzy sets and fuzzy multisets, etc. Using the Torra’s hesitant fuzzy sets, the notions of Sup-hesitant fuzzy ideals in BCK/BCI-algebras are introduced, and its properties are investigated. Relations between Sup-hesitant fuzzy subalgebras and Sup-hesitant fuzzy ideals are displayed, and characterizations of Sup-hesitant fuzzy ideals are discussed.

On The Qualitative Analysis Of Volterra Iddes With Infinite Delay, Osman Tunç, Erdal Korkmaz, Özkan Atan

Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM)

This investigation deals with a nonlinear Volterra integro-differential equation with infinite retardation (IDDE).We will prove three new results on the stability, uniformly stability (US) and square integrability (SI) of solutions of that IDDE. The proofs of theorems rely on the use of an appropriate Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional (LKF). By the outcomes of this paper, we generalize and obtain some former results in mathematical literature under weaker conditions.

Variants Of Meir-Keeler Fixed Point Theorem And Applications Of Soft Set-Valued Maps, Akbar Azam, Mohammed Shehu Shagari 2020 COMSATS University

Variants Of Meir-Keeler Fixed Point Theorem And Applications Of Soft Set-Valued Maps, Akbar Azam, Mohammed Shehu Shagari

Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM)

In this paper, we prove a Meir-Keeler type common fixed point theorem for two mappings for which the range set of the first one is a family of soft sets, called soft set-valued map and the second is a point-to-point mapping. In addition, it is also shown that under some suitable conditions, a soft set-valued map admits a selection having a unique fixed point. In support of the obtained result, nontrivial examples are provided. The novelty of the presented idea herein is that it extends the Meir-Keeler fixed point theorem and the theory of selections for multivalued mappings from the …

On Geometry Of Spherical Image In Minkowski Space-Time With Timelike Type-2 Parallel Transport Frame, Solouma Solouma, Ibrahim Al-Dayel

Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM)

In this paper, we investigate a different type of the parallel transport frame in 3-dimensional Minkowski space R^3_1 by using the binormal vector field of a timelike regular curve as common vector field to introduce, and we recall this frame as " timelike type-2 parallel transport frame". Also, we present new spherical images and call them as timelike type-2 parallel transport spherical images by translating the induced frame vectors to the center of unit Lorentzian sphere in 3-dimensional Minkowski space R^3_1. Additionally, we obtain the Frenet apparatus of these new spherical images in terms of base curves timelike type-2 parallel …

Generalized Growth And Faber Polynomial Approximation Of Entire Functions Of Several Complex Variables In Some Banach Spaces, Devendra Kumar, Manisha Vijayran

Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM)

In this paper the relationship between the generalized order of growth of entire functions of many complex variables m (m >= 2) over Jordan domains and the sequence of Faber polynomial approximations in some Banach spaces has been investigated. Our results improve the various results shown in the literature.

Numerical Simulation For Solving Fractional Riccati And Logistic Differential Equations As A Difference Equation, M. M. Khader, N. H. Sweilam, B. N. Kharrat 2020 Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University (IMSIU)

Numerical Simulation For Solving Fractional Riccati And Logistic Differential Equations As A Difference Equation, M. M. Khader, N. H. Sweilam, B. N. Kharrat

Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM)

In this paper, we introduce a numerical treatment using the generalized Euler method (GEM) for the fractional (Caputo sense) Riccati and Logistic differential equations. In the proposed method, we invert the given model as a difference equation. We compare our numerical solutions with the exact solution and with those numerical solutions using the fourth-order Runge-Kutta method (RK4). The obtained numerical results of the two proposed problem models show the simplicity and efficiency of the proposed method.

Logarithmic Mean Labeling Of Some Ladder Related Graphs, A. Durai Baskar 2020 CSI Jayaraj Annapackiam College

Logarithmic Mean Labeling Of Some Ladder Related Graphs, A. Durai Baskar

Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM)

In general, the logarithmic mean of two positive integers need not be an integer. Hence, the logarithmic mean is to be an integer; we use either flooring or ceiling function. The logarithmic mean labeling of graphs have been defined in which the edge labels may be assigned by either flooring function or ceiling function. In this, we establish the logarithmic mean labeling on graphs by considering the edge labels obtained only from the flooring function. A logarithmic mean labeling of a graph G with q edges is an injective function from the vertex set of G to 1, 2, 3,..., …

Twin Edge Coloring Of Total Graph And Graphs With Twin Chromatic Index 𝚫+𝟐, S. Anantharaman 2020 Annamalai University

Twin Edge Coloring Of Total Graph And Graphs With Twin Chromatic Index 𝚫+𝟐, S. Anantharaman

Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM)

A twin edge coloring of a graph G is meant a proper edge coloring of G whose colors come from the integers modulo k that induce a proper vertex coloring in which the color of a vertex is the sum of the colors of its incident edges. The minimum k for which G has a twin edge coloring is the twin chromatic index of G. In this paper, I compute twin chromatic index of total graph of path and cycle also construct some special graphs with twin chromatic index is maximum degree plus two.

Concerning A Decision-Diagram-Based Solution To The Generalized Directed Rural Postman Problem, Renzo Roel P. Tan, Jun Kawahara, Kazushi Ikeda, Agnes Garciano, Kyle Stephen S. See

Mathematics Faculty Publications

Decision-diagram-based solutions for discrete optimization have been persistently studied. Among these is the use of the zero-suppressed binary decision diagram, a compact graph-based representation for a specified family of sets. Such a diagram may work out combinatorial problems by efficient enumeration. In brief, an extension to the frontierbased search approach for zero-suppressed binary decision diagram construction is proposed. The modification allows for the inclusion of a class-determined constraint in formulation. Variations of the generalized directed rural postman problem, proven to be nondeterministic polynomial-time hard, are solved on some rapid transit systems as illustration. Lastly, results are juxtaposed against standard integer …

Permutation And Monomial Progenitors, Crystal Diaz 2020 California State University, San Bernardino

Permutation And Monomial Progenitors, Crystal Diaz

Electronic Theses, Projects, and Dissertations

We searched monomial and permutation progenitors for symmetric presentations of important images, nonabelian simple groups, their automorphism groups, or groups that have these as their factor groups. In this thesis, we described our search for the homomorphic images through the permutation progenitor 2*15:(D5 X 3) and construction of a monomial representation through the group 23:3.

We constructed PGL(2,7) over 23:3 on 6 letters and L2(11) over 22:3 on 8 letters. We also give our construction of S5 X 2 and L2(25) as homomorphic images of the …

Assessing Student Understanding While Solving Linear Equations Using Flowcharts And Algebraic Methods, Edima Umanah 2020 California State University, San Bernardino

Assessing Student Understanding While Solving Linear Equations Using Flowcharts And Algebraic Methods, Edima Umanah

Electronic Theses, Projects, and Dissertations

Solving linear equations has often been taught procedurally by performing inverse operations until the variable in question is isolated. Students do not remember which operation to undo first because they often memorize operations with no understanding of the underlying meanings. The study was designed to help assess how well students are able to solve linear equations. Furthermore, the lesson is designed to help students identify solving linear equations in more than one-way. The following research questions were addressed in this study: Does the introduction of multiple ways to think about linear equations lead students to flexibly incorporate appropriate representations/strategies in …

Minimal Surfaces And The Weierstrass-Enneper Representation, Evan Snyder 2020 California State University, San Bernardino

Minimal Surfaces And The Weierstrass-Enneper Representation, Evan Snyder

Electronic Theses, Projects, and Dissertations

The field of minimal surfaces is an intriguing study, not only because of the exotic structures that these surfaces admit, but also for the deep connections among various mathematical disciplines. Minimal surfaces have zero mean curvature, and their parametrizations are usually quite complicated and nontrivial. It was shown however, that these exotic surfaces can easily be constructed from a careful choice of complex-valued functions, using what is called the Weierstrass-Enneper Representation.

In this paper, we develop the necessary tools to study minimal surfaces. We will prove some classical theorems and solve an interesting problem that involves ruled surfaces. We will …

Modeling The Spread Of Measles, Alexandria Le Beau 2020 California State University, San Bernardino

Modeling The Spread Of Measles, Alexandria Le Beau

Electronic Theses, Projects, and Dissertations

The measles virus has been around since the 9th century. Throughout the years measles have become less problematic in certain areas of the world due to research and the creation of vaccinations. Sadly, not all countries are fortunate enough to have adequate access to the vaccination, which leads to yearly outbreaks.

The goal of this project is to experiment with different mathematical growth models and examine their suitability for modeling outbreaks of measles. We will compare and contrast the exponential model, the logistic model, the SIR model, and the SEIR model. In addition, we will show how the epidemiological models …

Dna Complexes Of One Bond-Edge Type, Andrew Tyler Lavengood-Ryan 2020 California State University - San Bernardino

Dna Complexes Of One Bond-Edge Type, Andrew Tyler Lavengood-Ryan

Electronic Theses, Projects, and Dissertations

DNA self-assembly is an important tool used in the building of nanostructures and targeted virotherapies. We use tools from graph theory and number theory to encode the biological process of DNA self-assembly. The principal component of this process is to examine collections of branched junction molecules, called pots, and study the types of structures that such pots can realize. In this thesis, we restrict our attention to pots which contain identical cohesive-ends, or a single bond-edge type, and we demonstrate the types and sizes of structures that can be built based on a single characteristic of the pot that is …

Excluded Minors For Nearly-Paving Matroids, Vanessa Natalie Vega 2020 California State University- San Bernardino

Excluded Minors For Nearly-Paving Matroids, Vanessa Natalie Vega

Electronic Theses, Projects, and Dissertations

Matroids capture an abstract notion of independence that generalizes linear independence in linear algebra, edge independence in graph theory, as well as algebraic independence. Given a particular property of matroids, all the matroids possessing that property form a matroid class. A common research theme in matroid theory is to characterize matroid classes so that, given a matroid M, it is possible to determine whether or not M belongs to a given class. An excluded minor of a minor-closed class is a matroid N that is, in a sense, minimal with respect to not being in the minor-closed class. An attractive …

Exploring Matroid Minors, Jonathan Lara Tejeda 2020 California State University – San Bernardino

Exploring Matroid Minors, Jonathan Lara Tejeda

Electronic Theses, Projects, and Dissertations

Matroids are discrete mathematical objects that generalize important concepts of independence arising in other areas of mathematics. There are many different important classes of matroids and a frequent problem in matroid theory is to determine whether or not a given matroid belongs to a certain class of matroids. For special classes of matroids that are minor-closed, this question is commonly answered by determining a complete list of matroids that are not in the class but have the property that each of their proper minors is in the class; that is, minor-minimal matroids that are not in the minor-closed class. These …

The Weibull Topp-Leone Generated Family Of Distributions: Statistical Properties And Applications, Hamid Karamikabir, Mahmoud Afshari, Haitham M. Yousof, Morad Alizadeh, Gholamhossein G. Hamedani

Mathematical and Statistical Science Faculty Research and Publications

Statistical distributions are very useful in describing and predicting real world phenomena. Consequently, the choice of the most suitable statistical distribution for modeling given data is very important. In this paper, we propose a new class of lifetime distributions called the Weibull Topp-Leone Generated (WTLG) family. The proposed family is constructed via compounding the Weibull and the Topp-Leone distributions. It can provide better fits and is very flexible in comparison with the various known lifetime distributions. Several general statistical properties of the WTLG family are studied in details including density and hazard shapes, limit behavior, mixture representation, skewness and kurtosis, …

Model Theory Of Groups And Monoids, Laura M. Lopez Cruz 2020 CUNY Graduate Center

Model Theory Of Groups And Monoids, Laura M. Lopez Cruz

Dissertations, Theses, and Capstone Projects

We first show that arithmetic is bi-interpretable (with parameters) with the free monoid and with partially commutative monoids with trivial center. This bi-interpretability implies that these monoids have the QFA property and that finitely generated submonoids of these monoids are definable. Moreover, we show that any recursively enumerable language in a finite alphabet X with two or more generators is definable in the free monoid. We also show that for metabelian Baumslag-Solitar groups and for a family of metabelian restricted wreath products, the Diophantine Problem is decidable. That is, we provide an algorithm that decides whether or not a given …
