Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate the position, angulation and surrounding trabecular bone structure of a unilateral impacted maxillary canine (IMC) tooth using fractal analysis. Methods: Cone beam computed tomography images of 50 patients (38 female, 12 male) with unilateral IMC were selected for this retrospective study. A 25x25 pixel region of interest (ROI) was selected in the trabecular bone between the premolars on the impacted and non-impacted side and fractal analysis was conducted. The prevalence and clinical characteristics of temporomandibular disorders (TMD) in the Mediterranean region of Türkiye have not yet been thoroughly investigated. Objective: This study aimed to determine the prevalence and severity of TMD in a sample of the population in this region and to characterize the clinical findings related to TMD. Methods: Four hundred and one participants were included in this study. “Presence of TMD” in the participants was evaluated using the Fonseca Anamnestic Index. Facial asymmetry is apparent when there is a clinically significant variation between the two halves of the face. There can be varying degrees of facial asymmetry and mild asymmetry can be treated by orthodontics alone. For severe facial asymmetry a combination of orthodontics and orthognathic surgery may be necessary. The condyle must be in a stable position following surgery to have functional and structural stability and prevent relapse. Background: Mandibular flexure during mouth opening affects prosthodontic outcomes, but digital scanner research is limited.

Methods: Seventy dental students (35 males, 35 females) had two impressions taken: one with maximum and one with minimum mouth opening.

Results: First molars showed higher deviations than premolars. Females had larger deviations, though not statistically significant.

Conclusion: First molars exhibit greater flexure than premolars.

The Michigan Board of Dentistry has introduced changes to the rules governing the delegation of duties to dental auxiliaries, including the reclassification of "dental assistants" (those not formally trained or licensed) as "unregistered dental auxiliaries" (UDAs). The classification Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) remains. Changes involve the supervision levels for specific tasks and guiding training UDAs for orthodontic duties. Notable changes include allowing UDAs to perform certain orthodontic tasks and expanding their scope of work to include duties such as taking impressions, polishing, and providing nutritional counseling. Objective: The study aimed to compare cavity volume data obtained with two different intraoral scanners. Methods: One hundred extracted molar teeth were divided into groups according to ICDAS-II classification, and scanned with Cerec Omnicam (Dentsply Sirona) and iTero Element Flex (Align Technology). The caries-infected tissues were removed regarding either minimally invasive or conventional cavity principles. Samples were scanned again and volumetric data were assessed by Meshmixer 3.5 (Autodesk) 3D modeling software. Statistical evaluations were performed with Mann Whitney U test and Spearman’s Correlation test. The significance level was α=0.05. The terms sinus and fistula have been used interchangeably in clinical dentistry, but it may be inconsistent with past and current literature. The primary difference between the two is the number of anatomic spaces or openings involved. There is often confusion regarding the lining of a sinus tract and of a fistula. This article will review the clinical and histological features of a sinus and a fistula in both dentistry and medicine.
