Background: The goal of this in vitro study was to compare three different surfaces: two types of implant surfaces commercially available ([a] smooth/machined and [b] acid-treated surface) versus (c) anodized surface. Discs were manufactured with commercially pure titanium (CP) grade IV, which were subsequently analyzed by scanning microscopy and fibroblastic and osteoblastic cell cultures. Methods: Ninety-nine discs (5 × 2 mm) were manufactured in titanium grade IV and received different surface treatments: (i) Mach group: machined; (ii) AA group: double acid etch; and (iii) AN group: anodizing treatment. Objectives: The goal of this study was to assess the newly formed bone and the remnant biomaterial by comparing four different bone grafts used to treat critical-size defects, associated or not with the non-resorbable membrane.

Materials and methods: Two calvaria critical-size bone defects were created in 50 male Wistar rats. They were divided into blood (G1), autogenous (G2), bioglass (G3), hydroxyapatite (G4), and xenograft (G5) groups, associated or not with e-PTFE. The experimental periods were 15 and 45 days. Sections were prepared for histomorphometric assessment. All data were analyzed by the mixed-effects model with multiple comparisons (significance level, p < .05).

Purpose. Project-based learning (PjBL) is an instructional method designed to help students cultivate skills transferable beyond traditional education systems focused on didactic learning. This literature review aims to critically summarise existing literature on PjBL and its value in tertiary health professions curricula, especially with regards to cognitive, affective and behavioral student outcomes. In doing so, this study seeks to inform teaching and learning approaches that nurture skills desirable in professional settings.

Objectives: To investigate the effect of various hyperbaric air pressures on the loosening of LOCATOR® (ZEST Anchors, LLC, Escondido, CA USA) overdenture abutments.

The pressure conditions tested are meant to simulate scuba diving conditions in edentulous patients that are restored with implant-retained tissue-supported overdentures. Objectives: Comparative evaluation of surface changes and bond strength of Microabrasion Bleached enamel before and after Remineralization with Nano-hydroxyapatite paste, an In vitro study.

Methods: Enamel samples were divided into - Group I - Conventional bleaching (HB), Group II - Conventional bleaching with remineralization (HB+N-Hp), Group III - Microabrasion-assisted bleaching(M+HB), and Group IV - Microabrasion-assisted bleaching with remineralization(M+HB+NHp). Surface roughness was measured using a profilometer. Samples were stored in artificial saliva for two weeks, then bonded with nanofilled composite resin and subjected to shear bond strength (SBS) analysis.

Complex crown-root fractures are characterized by the involvement of both crown and root with pulp exposure. They pose aesthetic, functional, and psychological problems for the patient. Furthermore, they can pose technical difficulties for the practitioner. The purpose of this case report is to describe the management of a complex crown-root fracture of the right upper central incisor with subgingival limit by reattaching the tooth fragment with fiber-reinforced post. We considered a coronal elongation (gingivectomy and osteoplasty) to recreate the biological space and to expose the limit of the fracture line to guarantee the quality of the bond.
