งานวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อวิเคราะห์ปัจจัยที่ส่งผลถึงความพึงพอใจของบุคลากรที่มีต่อการบริหารงานพัสดุ และ เพื่อจัดทำข้อเสนอแนะแนวทางในการพัฒนาการบริหารงานพัสดุ ขอบเขตของงานวิจัย ได้แก่ การวิจัยเชิงปริมาณ กลุ่มตัวอย่าง คือ บุคลากรใน บริษัท วิทยุการบินแห่งประเทศไทย โดยกำหนดวิธีวิธีการสุ่มตัวอย่างแบบแบ่งชั้น (Stratified Random Sampling) รวมทั้งสิ้นจำนวน 355 คน และการวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพ ผู้ให้ข้อมูล คือ ประชากรที่ใช้ในกองการพัสดุ จำนวน 3 คน สมมติฐานการวิจัยนั้นครอบคลุมปัจจัยด้านข้อมูลส่วนบุคคลและข้อมูลการติดต่อกับงานพัสดุ เพื่อทดสอบหาความแตกต่างทางด้านความพึงพอใจของบุคลากรที่มีต่อการบริหารงานพัสดุ โดยใช้ค่าสถิติ T-Test ค่า F-Test และ One-way ANOVA มาทดสอบและวิเคราะห์พิจารณาประเด็นหลักที่พบในข้อมูลที่ได้จากการสัมภาษณ์นำมาเขียนบรรยาย ผลการศึกษาพบว่า พบว่า บุคลากรมีความคิดเห็นต่อการบริหารงานพัสดุของ บริษัท วิทยุการบินแห่งประเทศไทย จำกัด โดยรวมอยู่ในระดับมาก เมื่อวิเคราะห์แยกรายตัว พบว่า ความพึงพอใจมากที่สุด คือ ด้านการจำหน่ายพัสดุ ได้ผลในระดับมาก รองมาด้านการควบคุมพัสดุ มีระดับมาก รองลงมาเป็นด้านการบำรุงรักษาพัสดุ มีระดับมาก และน้อยที่สุดด้านการจัดหาพัสดุ โดยอยู่ในระดับปานกลาง ตามลำดับ การวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลเชิงคุณภาพ พบว่า ผู้ให้ข้อมูลมีความกังวลในเรื่องของแนวปฏิบัติในการทำงานที่ต้องดำเนินการตามกฎและระเบียบของกรมบัญชีกลาง ซึ่งอาจจะต้องมีการซักซ้อมความเข้าใจให้มากขึ้น และยังมีข้อกังวลเกี่ยวกับสถานที่ในการจัดเก็บทรัพย์สิน และการตรวจสอบทรัพย์สิน อาจจะทำให้พื้นที่ในการจัดเก็บอุปกรณ์ของใช้ทรัพย์สินไม่เพียงพอ ผู้วิจัยคาดหวังเป็นอย่างยิ่งว่า การวิจัยครั้งนี้จะเป็นประโยชน์ต่อการแก้ไขปัญหาการดำเนินงานของกองการพัสดุ และต่อยอดพัฒนาต่อไปได้

การศึกษาครั้งนี้ มีวัตถุประสงค์ (1) เพื่อศึกษาบทบาทของปลัดอำเภอ ในการขับเคลื่อนโครงการหนึ่งตำบล หนึ่งหมู่บ้านยั่งยืนฯ กรณีศึกษาในเขตพื้นที่ อำเภอโคกสูง จังหวัดสระแก้ว (2) เพื่อศึกษาจุดแข็ง จุดอ่อน ของปลัดอำเภอต่อการขับเคลื่อนโครงการหนึ่งตำบล หนึ่งหมู่บ้านยั่งยืนฯ กรณีศึกษาในเขตพื้นที่ อำเภอโคกสูง จังหวัดสระแก้ว และ (3) เพื่อศึกษาปัญหาและอุปสรรคเกี่ยวกับบทบาทในการขับเคลื่อนโครงการหนึ่งตำบล หนึ่งหมู่บ้านยั่งยืนฯ ของปลัดอำเภอ กรณีศึกษาในเขตพื้นที่ อำเภอโคกสูง จังหวัดสระแก้ว ระเบียบวิธีวิจัยหรือกระบวนการวิจัย (Methodology) ที่นำมาใช้ในการวิจัยในครั้งนี้ ได้กำหนดระเบียบวิธีวิจัยหรือกระบวนการวิจัย (Methodology) โดยใช้กระบวนการวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพ (Qualitative Research) อันประกอบไปด้วย การวิจัยเชิงเอกสาร (Documentary Research) และการสัมภาษณ์เชิงลึก (In-Depth Interview) จากผู้ให้ข้อมูลหลัก (key Information) คือ คณะกรรมการขับเคลื่อนโครงการฯ ระดับอำเภอโคกสูง ประกอบด้วย ข้าราชการ หรือเจ้าหน้าที่รัฐในพื้นที่ หน่วยงานความมั่นคงในพื้นที่ ผู้แทนภาคประชาชน และผู้นำศาสนา จำนวน 15 ท่าน ผู้ใหญ่บ้าน จำนวน 4 ท่าน และ ผู้บังคับบัญชา 1 ท่าน จากการผลการศึกษาบทบาทของปลัดอำเภอในการขับเคลื่อนโครงการหนึ่งตำบล หนึ่งหมู่บ้านยั่งยืน ผู้ให้ข้อมูลหลักมีความเห็นว่าบทบาทของปลัดอำเภอในการขับเคลื่อนโครงการหนึ่งตำบล หนึ่งหมู่บ้านยั่งยืนฯ ควรมีคุณลักษณะที่สำคัญของความเป็นผู้นำ ได้แก่ (1) ผู้นำสามารถมีอิทธิพลโน้มน้าว กระตุ้น สร้างแรงบันดาลใจ (2) ผู้นำสามารถนำคนจำนวนมากได้ และ (3) ผู้นำกล้าและชอบเสี่ยงที่ตัดสินใจ

ปัจจัยที่มีอิทธิพลต่อการพัฒนาสู่การเป็นองค์การแห่งการเรียนรู้ของสำนักงานสภาพัฒนาการเศรษฐกิจและสังคมแห่งชาติ (สศช.), ชุติกาญจน์ ทรงมิตร

การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาสถานะการเป็นองค์การแห่งการเรียนรู้ ของสำนักงานสภาพัฒนาการเศรษฐกิจและสังคมแห่งชาติ (สศช.) ในปัจจุบัน วิเคราะห์ปัจจัยที่มีอิทธิพลต่อการพัฒนาสู่การเป็นองค์การแห่งการเรียนรู้ของ สศช. และจัดทำข้อเสนอแนะแนวทางในการพัฒนา สศช. สู่การเป็นองค์การแห่งการเรียนรู้ มีระเบียบวิธีวิจัยเป็นการวิจัยเชิงปริมาณ โดยเก็บรวบรวมข้อมูลจากการแจกแบบสอบถามให้กับข้าราชการพลเรือน สังกัด สศช. ทั้งในสายงานหลักและสายงานสนับสนุน ผลการศึกษาพบว่า ในภาพรวม สถานะการเป็นองค์การแห่งการเรียนรู้ของ สศช. ในปัจจุบันอยู่ในระดับมาก โดยระบบย่อยพลวัตรการเรียนรู้เป็นด้านที่มีคะแนนเฉลี่ยสูงที่สุด รองลงมา คือ ระบบย่อยการนำเทคโนโลยีมาปรับใช้ในองค์การ ระบบย่อยการมอบอำนาจคน ระบบย่อยการจัดการความรู้ และระบบย่อยการปรับเปลี่ยนองค์การ ตามลำดับ สำหรับปัจจัยที่มีอิทธิพลต่อการพัฒนาสู่การเป็นองค์การแห่งการเรียนรู้ พบว่า ปัจจัยด้านการบริหารทั้ง 12 ปัจจัย มีการปฏิบัติอยู่ในระดับมาก โดยมีเพียง 4 ปัจจัย ที่มีอิทธิพลต่อการเป็นองค์การแห่งการเรียนรู้ของ สศช. อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05 ได้แก่ กระบวนการเรียนรู้ วิสัยทัศน์และกลยุทธ์ เทคโนโลยี และวัฒนธรรมองค์การ จากข้อค้นพบดังกล่าวนำมาสู่ข้อเสนอแนะ ดังนี้ (1) การจัดกระบวนการเรียนรู้ให้กลายเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของการบริหารจัดการองค์การ (2) การดำเนินการตามวิสัยทัศน์และกลยุทธ์ต่าง ๆ ที่กำหนดไว้ในแผนปฏิบัติราชการ สศช. ประจำปีงบประมาณ พ.ศ. 2566 - 2570 ให้เห็นผลสำเร็จเป็นรูปธรรม (3) การพัฒนาระบบเทคโนโลยีสารสนเทศเพื่อสนับสนุนการเรียนรู้และการทำงานของบุคลากร และ (4) การส่งเสริมวัฒนธรรมการเรียนรู้อย่างต่อเนื่อง (Lifelong Learning Culture)

การศึกษาเรื่อง "กระบวนการในการกำหนดและจัดทำนโยบายด้านการปฏฺิรูประบบราชการของพรรคการเมือง" มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาว่าอุดมการณ์ทางการเมืองมีอิทธิพลต่อการกำหนดนโยบายด้านการปฏิรูประบบราชการ เครื่องมือเชิงนโยบายที่พรรคการเมืองใช้ในการกำหนดนโยบายด้านการปฏิรูประบบราชการ ตลอดจนเพื่อศึกษาและวิเคราะห์กระบวนการจัดทำและกำหนดนโยบายด้านการปฏิรูประบบราชการของพรรคการเมือง โดยนำกรอบแนวคิดวงจรนโยบายสาธารณะ (Policy Cycle) มาใช้ในการวิเคราะห์ ซึ่งการวิจัยครั้งนี้เป็นการวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพ (Qualitative Research) โดยเลือกกลุ่มตัวอย่างแบบเฉพาะเจาะจง (Purposive Sampling) ผ่านการเก็บข้อมูลโดยใช้การสัมภาษณ์เชิงลึก (In-depth Interview) กลุ่มประชากรตัวอย่างคือ พรรคการเมืองไทย และผู้วิจัยได้ทำการเก็บข้อมูลจากการวิจัยเชิงเอกสาร (Documentary Research) เพื่อให้ได้มาซึ่งข้อมูลที่ครอบคลุมและละเอียด ต่อการศึกษาในครั้งนี้ จากการศึกษาในครั้งนี้ ผู้วิจัยขอสรุปผลการศึกษาได้ ดังนี้ 1) อุดมการณ์มีผลต่อการกำหนดและจัดทำนโยบายด้านการปฏิรูประบบราชการของพรรคการเมือง อย่างไรก็ตาม ปัจจัยด้านการตัดสินใจของผู้บริหารพรรคการเมืองว่าจะเลือกกำหนดนโยบายในด้านใดนั้น มีผลต่อทิศทางในการกำหนดนโยบาย 2) กระบวนการในการกำหนดและจัดทำนโยบายด้านการปฏิรูประบบราชการของพรรคการเมือง เป็นไปตามกรอบแนวคิดของการวิจัย "วงจรนโยบายสาธารณะ" 3) พรรคการเมืองทุกพรรคมีคณะกรรมการยุทธศาสตร์และนโยบาย เป็นเครื่องมือที่เป็นกลไกสำคัญที่พรรคการเมืองใช้ในการกำหนดนโยบายด้านการปฏิรูประบบราชการ 4) ทัศนคติของข้าราชการ เป็นปัญหาและอุปสรรคสำคัญที่ทุกพรรคการเมืองเห็นตรงกัน ว่าทำให้นโยบายด้านการปฏิรูประบบราชการของแต่ละรัฐบาลไม่ประสบความสำเร็จ และไปสู่ผลลัพธ์ที่คาดหวังได้

การมีส่วนร่วมของผู้นำชุมชนในการจัดบริการสาธารณะขององค์กรปกครองส่วนท้องถิ่นขนาดใหญ่: ศึกษากรณี เทศบาลนครนครปฐม, ณัฐชพันธุ์ คุปตวัช

งานวิจัยชิ้นนี้มุ่งตอบคำถามเกี่ยวกับบทบาทการมีส่วนร่วมของผู้นำชุมชนที่มีส่วนร่วมในการจัดบริการสาธารณะขององค์กรปกครองส่วนท้องถิ่นขนาดใหญ่ รวมถึงอธิบายความแตกต่างของการมีส่วนร่วมระหว่างผู้นำชุมชน ที่มีช่วงอายุต่างกันในการจัดการบริการสาธารณะ โดยใช้ระเบียบวิธีวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพ (Qualitative Research Methodology) จากการสัมภาษณ์เชิงลึกกลุ่มผู้นำชุมชนในเขตเทศบาลนครนครปฐมจำนวน 10 คน จาก 10 ชุมชน การศึกษาพบว่า การมีส่วนร่วมของผู้นำชุมชนสามารถแบ่งได้ 2 แบบ ได้แก่ การมีส่วนร่วมแบบเป็นทางการ หมายถึง การมีส่วนร่วมที่เป็นไปตามหน้าที่ที่กำหนดในระเบียบกระทรวงมหาดไทยว่าด้วยคณะกรรมการชุมชนของเทศบาล พ.ศ. 2564 (2564) และการมีส่วนร่วมแบบไม่เป็นทางการ หมายถึง การมีส่วนร่วมที่ผู้นำชุมชนริเริ่มขึ้นเอง โดยไม่ได้เป็นหน้าที่ตามข้อบัญญัติ โดยในการมีส่วนร่วมแบบเป็นทางการนั้น ผู้นำชุมชนมีส่วนร่วมพัฒนาบริการสาธารณะ ตั้งแต่ร่วมตัดสินใจเสนอปัญหา ระบุสภาพปัญหาในแผนชุมชนแต่ไม่มีส่วนร่วมดำเนินการ เพราะอำนาจการอนุมัติโครงการเป็นของเทศบาล ระดับการมีส่วนร่วมของผู้นำชุมชนแตกต่างกัน ขึ้นอยู่กับสภานภาพของผู้นำชุมชน หากเป็นผู้นำชุมชนที่ดำรงตำแหน่งบริหารงานร่วมกับเทศบาล จะมีอำนาจต่อรองมากกว่า ผู้นำชุมชนมีวิธีการหลายรูปแบบในการกดดัน ต่อรองกับหน่วยงานเทศบาลเพื่อให้โครงการของชุมชนของตนได้รับการจัดสรรงบประมาณ ในด้านความแตกต่างของการมีส่วนร่วมระหว่างผู้นำชุมชนที่มีช่วงอายุต่างกัน ผู้วิจัยพบว่า ผู้นำชุมชนวัยผู้ใหญ่ (ช่วงอายุ 25 - 45 ปี) เป็นกลุ่มคนที่เน้นการทำงานเชิงรุกคิดเชิงออกแบบ ทดลอง ทดสอบ เพื่อแสวงหาหนทางแก้ปัญหาระยะยาว ผู้นำชุมชนวัยผู้ใหญ่ ให้ความสำคัญกับการบริหารจัดการภายในชุมชนอย่างอิสระมองว่าหน่วยงานเทศบาลอำนวยความสะดวกให้กับชุมชน แตกต่างกับผู้นำชุมชนวัยสูงอายุ (ช่วงอายุ 45 - 76 ปี) ที่เน้นการปฏิบัติตามระเบียบข้อบังคับ การทำงานเป็นแบบเชิงรับ ให้ความสำคัญกับการทำงานตามอำนาจหน้าที่ที่ได้รับมอบหมาย ผู้นำชุมชนมีหน้าที่รายงานสถานการณ์ภายในชุมชนรอการแก้ไขปัญหาจากหน่วยงานเทศบาล เน้นการยึดโยงกับหน่วยงานเทศบาลผ่านความสัมพันธ์ที่ดีต่อกัน

ประเด็นด้านทรัพยากรและวัตถุประสงค์ของนโยบายที่ส่งผลต่อการถ่ายโอนโรงพยาบาลส่งเสริมสุขภาพตำบล (รพ.สต.) ไปสู่องค์กรปกครองส่วนท้องถิ่น: ศึกษากรณีองค์การบริหารส่วนจังหวัดนนทบุรี, ณัฐวัฒน์ จารุวัฒน์

งานวิจัยชิ้นนี้มุ่งตอบคำถามเกี่ยวกับประเด็นด้านทรัพยากรและวัตถุประสงค์ของนโยบายที่ส่งผลต่อการตัดสินใจถ่ายโอนโรงพยาบาลส่งเสริมสุขภาพตำบล (รพ.สต.) ไปสู่องค์กรปกครองส่วนท้องถิ่น โดยใช้กรณีศึกษาจากกรณีการถ่ายโอนโรงพยาบาลส่งเสริมสุขภาพตำบลไปสู่องค์การบริหารส่วนจังหวัดนนทบุรี โดยวิเคราะห์เชื่อมโยงกับทฤษฎีปัจจัยการนำนโยบายไปปฏิบัติของ Van Meter และ Van Horn ใช้ระเบียบวิธีวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพ เน้นเก็บข้อมูลจากการสัมภาษณ์เชิงลึกกับกลุ่มผู้มีส่วนเกี่ยวข้องในกระบวนการถ่ายโอน ผลการศึกษา พบว่า การสื่อสารเกี่ยวกับวัตถุประสงค์ของการถ่ายโอน มีการทำผ่านหลายช่องทาง ทั้งคู่มือที่มีรายละเอียด การประชุม และสื่อสารระหว่างหน่วยงาน บุคลากรที่เกี่ยวข้องมีความเข้าใจในทิศทางเดียวกันในวัตถุประสงค์ของนโยบาย คือเพื่อกระจายอำนาจด้านการบริหารงานด้านสาธารณสุขเพื่อเพิ่มประสิทธิภาพการให้บริการประชาชน ขณะที่การถ่ายโอนยังมีปัญหาในเรื่องความไม่ชัดเจนของกฎระเบียบที่ใช้ในการปฏิบัติงานโดยเฉพาะเรื่องที่เกี่ยวกับงบประมาณและความกังวลต่ออิทธิพลทางการเมือง สำหรับปัจจัยทรัพยากร กลุ่มตัวอย่างคาดหวังว่าจะได้รับการสนับสนุนที่เพิ่มมากขึ้นทั้งด้านบุคลากรและงบประมาณ โดยต้องการเห็นความชัดเจนจากองค์การบริหารส่วนจังหวัด การค้นพบได้สะท้อนไปสู่ปัจจัยที่มีผลต่อการตัดสินใจเลือกถ่ายโอนของโรงพยาบาลส่งเสริมสุขภาพตำบล ประกอบด้วย 4 ปัจจัย คือ (1) บุคลากร (2) งบประมาณและวัสดุครุภัณฑ์ (3) กฎหมายและระเบียบ (4) การปฏิบัติงาน สำหรับกรณีขององค์การบริหารส่วนจังหวัดนนทบุรี มีความพร้อมในด้านทรัพยากร แต่เนื่องจากปัจจัยด้านกฎหมายและระเบียบและการสื่อสารในเรื่องแนวทางการปฏิบัติตามระเบียบที่ยังไม่มีความชัดเจน จึงยังทำให้มีความกังวลอยู่ในกลุ่มโรงพยาบาลที่ยังไม่ได้ถ่ายโอน และเจ้าหน้าที่ผู้ปฏิบัติงาน ซึ่งต้องการความชัดเจนที่มากขึ้น

ประสิทธิภาพการบริหารจัดการขยะของคณะกรรมการชุมชนแออัด กรณีศึกษาชุมชนอุทัยรัตน์ ซอยประดิพัทธ์ 15 เขตพญาไท กรุงเทพมหานคร, ณัฐวิชช์ ดำรงค์ศรีวงศ์

การวิจัยครั้งนี้ มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อทราบถึงสภาพปัญหาและอุปสรรคการบริหารจัดการขยะของคณะกรรมการชุมชนอุทัยรัตน์ ซอยประดิพัทธ์ 15 เขตพญาไท กรุงเทพมหานคร และเพื่อศึกษาแนวทางในการเสริมสร้างประสิทธิภาพในการบริหารจัดการขยะของคณะกรรมการชุมชนอุทัยรัตน์ ซอยประดิพัทธ์ 15 เขตพญาไท กรุงเทพมหานคร ผู้วิจัยได้ดำเนินการวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพ มีการเก็บข้อมูลจากกลุ่มเป้าหมายเชิงคุณภาพจาก แบบสัมภาษณ์แบบเจาะลึก จำนวน 8 คน โดยใช้หลักการบริหารแบบ “POSDC” ผลการวิจัยพบว่า คณะกรรมการชุมชนอุทัยรัตน์มีประสิทธิภาพการบริหารจัดการขยะที่ดีในด้านการจัดการองค์กร (Organizing) การจัดสรรและบริหารบุคลากร (Staffing) และการสั่งการและการอำนวยการ (Directing) แต่ยังสามารถพัฒนาประสิทธิภาพเพิ่มเติมในด้าน การวางแผน (Planning) ซึ่งต้องการการวางแผนให้ตรงกับปัญหาและความต้องการชุมชนให้มากขึ้น และในด้านการควบคุม (Controlling) ซึ่งต้องการการสื่อสารและดำเนินงานกับหน่วยงานที่เกี่ยวข้องให้มีประสิทธิภาพมากขึ้น การประชาสัมพันธ์ที่ดี และมีกฎระเบียบมากขึ้น เพื่อให้ประชาชนเข้ามามีส่วนร่วมในกิจกรรมของชุมชน และมีจิตสำนึกในการแยกขยะมากยิ่งขึ้น

Hybrid working strategies have become, and will continue to be, the norm for many offices. This raises two considerations: newly unoccupied spaces needlessly consume energy, and the occupied spaces need to be effectively used to facilitate meaningful interactions and create a positive, sustainable work culture. This work aims to determine when spontaneous, collaborative interactions occur within the building and the environmental factors that facilitate such interactions. This study uses smartwatch-based micro-surveys using the Cozie platform to identify the occurrence of and spatially place interactions while categorizing them as a collaboration or distraction. Hawker foods characterize urban Asia, with similarities and differences across cities that forge both cultural commonalities and distinctions. From the itinerant to the fixed location, from the temporary sites to the purpose-built, hawker foods are served in informal settings, with varying degrees of tradition and innovation, hygiene and squalidness, local authenticity and globalized influence. Retaining nursing students in courses is key to increasing the number of new nurses. This study examined factors associated with nursing course or program withdrawal among students with and without prior military experience. The purpose of this study was to uncover differences between groups of students who withdrew compared to those who did not. A cross-sectional study using an online questionnaire surveyed current or recent nursing students (n = 420) using the Educational Requirement Subscale and the Student Withdrawal Questionnaire from Jeffreys’ toolkit. Background and Purpose: Nursing student retention is essential to meet workforce demands. Jeffrey's Nursing Student Retention Student Perception Appraisal-Revised (SPA-R1) has been used extensively to understand factors that impact retention. Psychometric testing of the SPA-R1 contributes to greater confidence in the instrument's reliability and validity.

Healthcare inaccessibility through direct exposure (i.e., personal) to myriad forms of gender identity-related discrimination and erasure among the Transgender and Gender Independent (TGI) population has been documented by prior studies. New Lidar System Pinpoints Pedestrian Behavior To Improve Eficiency And Safety At Intersections, Taylor Li, Sirisha M. Kothuri, Xianfeng Terry Yang

Pedestrian safety is critical to improving walkability in cities. To that end, NITC researchers have developed a system for collecting pedestrian behavior data using LiDAR sensors. Tested at two intersections in Texas and soon to be tested at another in Salt Lake City, Utah, the new software created by a multi-university research team is able to reliably observe pedestrian behavior and can help reduce conflicts between pedestrians and vehicles at signalized intersections. The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) is already working on implementing this new LiDAR system to improve data collection at intersections.

The purpose of this study was to identify the preconditions that inspire courageous action through exploration of the choices made by four classroom teachers in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Each educator had made the decision not only to teach during or after the 1992–1995 war and genocide in their country, but to do so in ways that went against official post-war teaching guidelines. Livestock depredation by large carnivores has been documented across the entire Indian subcontinent. The failure of managers to mitigate livestock losses in landscapes dependent on subsistence agriculture poses a threat to the conservation of carnivores. For much of Gujarat, a western Indian state characterized by extensive semi-arid habitats, the Indian leopard (Panthera pardus fusca) is considered an apex predator. Increasing regional leopard populations in response to protection efforts has led to more attacks on humans, along with an increase in rates of livestock depredation. Psychedelic therapy is, arguably, the next frontier in psychiatry. It offers a radical alternative to longstanding, mainstays of treatment, while exciting a paradigm shift in translational science and drug discovery. There is particular interest in 5-methoxy-N,N-dimethyltryptamine (5-MeO-DMT)—a serotonergic psychedelic—as a novel, fast-acting therapeutic. Yet, few studies have directly examined 5-MeO-DMT for trauma- or stress-related psychopathology, including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Introduction: Empathy is a critical competency for health care providers. However, empathy levels in medical students and residents have been shown to paradoxically decrease during training. Arts and humanities education and reflective practice may reduce burnout and promote empathy during medical school.

Methods: We developed and implemented an art education elective for medical students focusing on observation and reflective practice and measured its impact on empathy. Importance: During the pandemic, the number of United States adults reporting clinically significant symptoms of anxiety and depression sky-rocketed, up from 11% in 2020 to more than 40% in 2021. Our current mental healthcare system cannot adequately accommodate the current crisis; it is therefore important to identify opportunities for public mental health interventions.

Objective: Assess whether modifiable emotional factors may offer a point of intervention for the mental health crisis.
