Menstrual Equity For $22 A Month: How One Health Sciences Library Brought Free Menstrual Products To An Entire University, Donna Baluchi

Over half of the world’s population menstruates, and yet the health products necessary for menstruation are regularly criticized for not being easily available and being prohibitively expensive (specifically being unreasonably taxed). It also is not uncommon for those that menstruate to find themselves unpleasantly surprised by their period starting. The public services department of the health sciences library at the University of Utah advocated to use those funds for menstrual products that would be freely available in all six (four of which were gendered) bathrooms. According to ALA Diversity Counts Survey (2012), librarians of color (African American, Asian American/Pacific Islander, Native American including Alaska Native, Two or more races, and Latino) made up only 12% of the profession. Building community in the form of cohorts is a vital opportunity that allows librarians of color to connect with one another and provide support while navigating a profession that is predominantly white.

With the increasing emphasis on digital access, platforms - such as DPLA, HathiTrust, and iDigBio - provide an opportunity to make materials available to a broader audience by aggregating materials from multiple libraries and archives into a single point of access. But just because something is online doesn’t mean that it’s actually accessible -- it needs to have accurate and relevant metadata. Trauma-informed care is widely discussed in literature related to social work and psychology, however, trauma-informed care principles can be applied everywhere. To put it simply, trauma-informed care asks "What happened to you?" instead of "What's wrong with you?" However, it isn't easy to ask this question directly in libraries as opposed to social work and/or psychology. However, there are ways to create trauma-informed practices in librarianship. In order to increase the value and discoverability of their metadata, libraries explore options for making that data available and useful outside of the data silo of the library world through the adoption of Linked Data and Linked Open Data (LOD). OCLC Research conducted its 2018 International Linked Data Survey for Implementers. Results showed that 41% of the linked data projects/services described in 2018 were reported as using Wikidata as a source they consumed. The paper analyses 775 publications by the faculty members in the Department of Physics, University of Calcutta, collected from Scopus database for the period of 19 years (2001-2019). A number of bibliometric indicators e.g. total publications, citations, journal cites score, h-index, year-wise productivity, national and international collaborations, the most preferred and cited journal are employed for analysing the nature of publications. Bibliometric technique and open source software like Publish or Perish and Bibliometrix R Package are used for data analysis. The present study reveals the results of a bibliometric study of 148 articles published in the Journal of ILA. The analysis cover mainly the number of articles, authorship pattern, subject-wise distribution of articles, average number of references per articles, forms of documents cited, year wise distribution of cited journals etc. Study reveals that most of the contributions are from India with 99.61% and the rest 0.39% only from foreign sources. Introduction: In 2012, the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) was designated as a Minority-Serving Institution (MSI) in the United States. As of 2019, UNLV serves approximately 26,000 undergraduate students with 31% reporting as Latino, 16% Asian, 8% Black, and 10% as multiracial. The Las Vegas metropolitan area also indicates diverse demographics with 31% of the population reporting as Latino, 11% as Black, and 10% as Asian. The present study aimed to explore users’ satisfaction with library resources and services in health sciences institutes in Punjab, Pakistan. The study employed the quantitative research method to achieve its objectives. The quantitative data were collected from users of four selected health sciences institute libraries through the questionnaire.

The findings of the study suggest that the majority of participants were satisfied with the library environment (furniture, heating/cooling, noise level, lights and cleanliness). Research trends have shown an increase in the preferences for feature fusion-based image retrieval. The primary objective of this study is to show the current state of research regarding image retrieval and feature fusion. The research papers indexed in the Scopus database are considered here for quantitative analysis. A bibliometric analysis of the research publications indexed in Scopus is presented in this study. During this study, 461 documents from 276 different sources are obtained. The important keywords, sources, authors, countries, and funding agencies are presented, which will help future researchers in research directions.

The study comprehends intellectual structure and publication pattern of scholarly articles published in the Journal of Money Laundering Control ranging from the year 2014 to 2020 through the prevailing methods of bibliometric analysis. The study finds that the JMLC has published the lowest number of 29 papers in 2014 and the highest number of 117 papers in the publishing year 2020.
