The study examined the strategies for overcoming challenges in digital preservation of electronic theses and dissertations in public university libraries in South-East Nigeria. The study adopted descriptive survey research design. The study population comprised 256 librarians, out of which only sixty-eight (68) digital or institutional repositories librarians were covered. A self-constructed questionnaire was used for data collection. The data collected were analyzed using mean and standard deviation. It was discovered that the major challenges encountered in preserving e-theses and dissertations in those libraries were lack of adequate funding, adequate ICT facilities, skilled staff, poor power supply, absence of staff development …

Graduate students in education at my university conduct systematic reviews (SRs) as part of their dissertations as well as for publications. During the initial consultation with a graduate student, I often review the steps of a SR and suggest resources about the SR methodology. Yet, students seem to prefer to utilize journals articles as a guide, even though these example articles might not report all the SR steps. The study was guided by 2 specific objectives and 2 research questions that determined the relationship between motivation and turnover intention, job performance and turnover intentions of the library personnel. The study assess the impact of marketing strategies in two medical institutions in Lagos State. It provides a direct test of applicability of marketing strategies that would enhance better services for the benefit of library patrons in a competitive and technologically driven environment. Data was collected from two libraries selected for this study. A total of 25 questionnaires were distributed to professionals in the two libraries. Universities faced a variety of options regarding COVID-19 preparations and enforcement rules in the fall 2020 and spring 2021 semesters. Libraries were on the front line as they provided computer labs, wi-fi, study spaces, and academic resources. The Angelo and Jennette Volpe Library at Tennessee Tech University made major changes as part of a campus-wide mobilization to provide face to face classes and services during the COVID-19 pandemic. When disaster hits and space is at a premium or when other offices need or want space, eyes often turn towards the library. After a tornado hit the campus and their building was devastated, the University’s Library became the home to one academic unit’s classes. Additionally, after a new division was created, the Library once again lost space. This case study explores that academic library’s experience with both situations and the work the library staff completed to prepare the spaces for non-library entities to move into the building.
