Documenting Agricultural Indigenous Knowledge And Provision Of Access Through Online Database Platform, Constant Okello-Obura
Library Philosophy and Practice (e-journal)
The basic component of any country’s agricultural knowledge system is its agricultural indigenous knowledge (AIK). It encompasses the skills, experiences and insights of people, applied to maintain or improve their livelihood. Regrettably, today, many AIK systems are at risk of becoming extinct because of rapidly changing natural environments and fast pacing economic, political, and cultural changes on a global scale. Practices vanish if not documented and this curtails knowledge growth. Sometimes, many AIK practices disappear only because of the intrusion of foreign technologies that promise short-term gains or solutions. The tragedy of the impending disappearance of AIK is most obvious …

Open Science: A Review On Open Peer Review Literature, Oluwaseyi Wusu
Library Philosophy and Practice (e-journal)
Peer review truly, is the king in scientific communication –however, traditional peer review has been accused of many irregularities such as inconsistency and unrealistic peer reviewing, methodology flaws, and the likes. Despite all these irregularities, scholars still believe in peer review but new ways of opening up peer reviews are encouraged. There were high levels of backing for most of the attributes of OPR, such as disclosing identities of reviewers, open reports, open interaction, open platform, commenting on the final-version of published articles or data. Furthermore, the idea of supplementing pre-publication peer review with some form of post-publication evaluation would …

Library Philosophy and Practice (e-journal)
The use of library information resources has the potentials of enhancing the quality of research and learning in universities. Despite the importance of the use of library information resources, observations have shown that the use of library information resources seems to be dwindling in some university libraries in Nigeria. Factors identified to have been responsible for this could be poor study habits. A literature search has shown that study habits and use of library information resources have not been adequately researched within the Nigerian context. Thus, the study examined the relationship between study habits and use of library information resources …
