There is an urgent need for social justice. This need expands far beyond the walls of an information literacy classroom, but there is important work that can be done in these spaces. Lessons designed to stimulate student’s critical thinking about their personal assumptions and latent biases by using different kinds of information sources is one way music and instruction librarians can advance equity and inclusion through teaching. The Anchor began in 1887 and was first issued weekly in 1914. Covering national and campus news alike, Hope College’s student-run newspaper has grown over the years to encompass over two-dozen editors, reporters, and staff. For much of The Anchor's history, the latest issue was distributed across campus each Wednesday throughout the academic school year (with few exceptions). In recent years The Anchor moved to monthly print issues and a more frequently updated website. The Anchor is now published in print twice per academic semester. Occasionally, the volume and/or issue numbering is irregular.

How did a small institution with limited seed funding get faculty buy-in with the OER and textbook affordability movement to the point of $1 million in student savings, two faculty-authored open textbooks (one written collaboratively with graduate students), and several open textbook reviews and adoptions, all within five semesters? OER momentum and awareness of textbook affordability issues is a growing concern in higher education. Learn how we structured an open textbook initiative to incentivize faculty and turn what began as an innovation grant into permanent sustainable funding for the Library Textbook Affordability Program.

Teaching using technologies has helped in making learning flexible, accommodating and increases potential learners. This study examines the information and communication technology assesses and use by teachers of community health nurses training school. The purposive sampling technique was used to select all the thirty teachers. The data was analysed using frequency, percentages, chi-square, bivariate correlation, t-test and linear regression. The study revealed that majority of the teachers has high competence level in ICT usage. The findings of the study showed that majority of the teachers have access to ICT tools such as computers, mobile phones, and personal digital assistants. The …

The Texas State Board of Medical Examiners collection consists primarily of licensure records for more than 6,000 Texas physicians. The license applications and related materials date from 1907 to 1972. A typical doctor's file contains biographical information, licensure applications, registration cards, some correspondence, and usually a photograph. In addition to these files, there are two additional boxes of registration cards that are not accompanied by supplemental information. The collection also contains newsletters, a directory, and lists of doctors newly licensed, which date from 1979-2008. See more at IC 058.
