The implementation of user charters in Spain’s 53 State-run public libraries was reviewed and the 23 (43.3 %) found on institutional websites were analysed and assessed from the perspective of the active public disclosure, as provision laid down in Spain’s Transparency Act. Charter compliance with those provisions was evaluated in terms of the six parameters set out in the official tool for measuring transparency in Spanish governmental institutions, the Metodología Oficial para la Evaluación y Seguimiento de la Transparencia [MESTA, official methodology for assessing and monitoring transparency]. The purpose of this study is to enquire the gratifications of Social Media Networks (SMN) among the Library & Information Science (LIS) students of Panjab University, Chandigarh. The study is based on survey method and convenience sampling has been used for data collection along with a close-ended questionnaire. A total of 43 valid responses have been recorded in which 74.4% students are female and remaining 25.6% are male. The highest gratification has been shown towards privacy concerns where students agreed over controlling the privacy setting on SMNs (M=4.33) and provide limited personal information to avoid misuse (M=4.30). Kentucky Virtual Library’s Affordable Learning Steering Committee, an initiative of the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education (CPE), is a working group of librarians from universities around Kentucky exploring ways to advance Kentucky in the Open Educational Resource (OER) / Affordable Textbook movement.

This study aimed to analyze the effectiveness of digital reference services in university libraries in the Punjab, Pakistan. The study employed the quantitative research method to achieve its objectives. The quantitative data were collected from users of four selected university libraries which offered digital reference services through the questionnaire.

The findings of the study suggest that more than half of the respondents were aware of digital reference services offered by their libraries. Cultural humility urges us to engage in critical, consistent self-reflection and critique, being other-oriented, redressing power imbalances as vital to moving towards a more equitable and inclusive profession. Retention is not solely the responsibility of the individual, nor is mentoring going to singlehandedly aid in retention. Retention involves, strategic, intentional, and communal actions. It is active, not passive.

In this presentation, Twanna Hodge will provide an overview of cultural humility, explain its importance in librarianship, provide elements of a cultural humility framework, share retention strategies, and offer how cultural humility can be used as a retention strategy.

In Fall 2020, President Callahan announced several Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) projects that the university would commence, including a DEI Audit of the Library’s collections. We formed a planning group, did initial research on equivalent DEI audits at other institutions, and decided to involve students in the process by hiring 9 as Interns in Spring 2021. The students will meet weekly with the planning group to discuss the project, audit specific portions of the collection (based on disciplinary interest), and provide recommendations for collection diversification.
