This current study aimed at examining the impact of data mining on increasing benefits of university library in Jordanian governmental university. Researcher adopted techniques of data mining which included (Association, Classification, Clustering, Prediction, Sequential Patterns and Decision Trees). In recent years there has been growing interest in the integration of contemplative practices into higher education, but little has been published regarding contemplative practices or contemplative pedagogies in academic libraries. Nor have explicit links been made to critical librarianship (critlib), particularly regarding the stress associated with the profession and the “resilience narrative” of “doing more with less”. In this paper, we review the literature and describe our experiences introducing a variety of contemplative elements into our library instruction program, most recently in the virtual environment. MARC records were identified, isolated from the other search results, then analyzed and individually coded. Coding identified where search terms appeared in a record, determined whether search terms were present in full or in part within those fields, and ascertained what prominent categories of fields were missing from records. Analysis of results ultimately showed that including notes and summaries into catalog records is important for content retrieval, while subject headings were not as impactful for access, but may be valuable to a subset of users who take the additional step of viewing the complete records.

Some of these FYS courses might lack formal research or writing assignments, proving challenging for successful library integration. The presenters encountered this scenario during the spring of 2021 with sections of a University Success Skills course. They developed an instruction plan that helps students identify how the library can support them in any class and breaks down the hidden curriculum by exploring a syllabus in depth. This talk focused on the librarian-led activities for the course Community Engagement Seminar, highlighting collaboration, teaching and learning, outcomes, and other uses of Scalar. This course focused on ways that K-12 school personnel create successful learning environments. Incorporating mapping, data visualization, and digital publishing, we taught students how to use several online tools and create a Scalar book that presented their research. Through a mixture of Zoom instructional sessions and personalized consultations, we helped students use Scalar to collaborate with their group members and build skills to successfully communicate goals, strategies, and outcomes to a broader community.

Taking its cue from Critical Discourse Analysis and Antiracist Black Language Pedagogy, this presentation questions the foundational image of the information literate individual lying at the heart of the ACRL Framework for Information Literacy. Using critical race theory and an understanding of how whiteness functions as a presumed neutral background in our society, we begin to understand the whiteness of this individual. USU launched a program in 2016 to connect researchers seeking federal funding with librarians to assist them with data management. This program assisted over 100 researchers, but was it successful? Our presentation will discuss how we evaluated the success of this program using online asynchronous focus groups (OAFG) in conjunction with a traditional survey. Our cross-institutional research team will share our findings as well as the challenges and successes of using OAFGs to assess library services.

Utah State University Libraries undertook a complete barcoding and cataloging of their Theses and Dissertations. Due to irregular cataloging policies, only 1/3 of the collection had been cataloged. Using a workflow-driven approach, the cataloging team of student technicians and catalogers used a combination of automations, batch processing, and a relational database to pull existing record information and build new, improved records. Presenters will discuss the process developed, the tools that were used, and the outcomes of the project.

The present paper examines the assessing the impact of ICT on the library users and their reading habits. A total of 2463 samples were selected from 11 state universities in Karnataka State, India. A well designed questionnaire was used for the data collection and data has been analyzed using SPSS. Kepangeranan Banyumas is one of the old and noble family members from Banyumas Regency, Central Java, Indonesia, who owned and kept the ancient Banyumas manuscripts in the physical form of dluwang paper. This is a preliminary study to provide an initial overview of the physical conditions of Kepangeranan Banyumas dluwang manuscripts. The results showed that the four manuscripts were in category three, or critical condition, and needed immediate conservation treatment.

This presentation examines the applicability of bibliometrics for assessing the scholarship of faculty librarians at American research universities. This review includes a comparison of publication rates in academic disciplines and librarianship, as well as between areas within librarianship. It concludes by suggesting the importance of understanding disciplinary norms when considering using publishing statistics in retention, tenure, and promotion decisions.

Library sessions guided by ACRL's Framework help to scaffold graduate students' knowledge of the current scholarly information landscape and how to navigate this landscape effectively and efficiently.
