This study explores trauma-informed practices within courtroom settings in a Midwestern state, comparing urban and rural judicial districts through in-depth field observations. Using a semi-structured observational approach, we examined courtroom dynamics, environmental factors, and community influences to assess how trauma-informed design principles are applied. Our findings reveal notable contrasts: rural courtrooms grappled with resource limitations and conservative cultural influences, while urban settings displayed a fast-paced, often impersonal atmosphere. Socio-political factors, such as community values and political symbolism, emerged as significant influences on courtroom practices, shaping the receptiveness and implementation of trauma-informed approaches. Kansas has a constitutional obligation to provide counsel to any arrested person who cannot afford to hire a private attorney. But attorney shortages in Kansas threaten this core constitutional right. According to the American Bar Association, there are an average of four attorneys per 1,000 people nationwide. However, only six of Kansas’s 105 counties have two or more attorneys per 1,000 people. In 44 counties, there is just one attorney or fewer per 1,000 residents. Despite the proliferation of alternatives to incarceration (ATI) for individuals with co-occurring disorders in recent decades, little is known about comparative styles of treatment used in this context. The following study uses data from a case management service in a large urban city (n=273) where several types of treatment are utilized in the ATI landscape. Specifically, this study compares ATI completion rates and time to completion or failure for several styles of treatment: clinic-based outpatient, residential, assertive community treatment (ACT) and personalized recovery-oriented services (PROS) programs. The legal landscape surrounding firearm possession is evolving rapidly. In 2022, the Supreme Court accelerated its expansion of the individual right to bear arms under the Second Amendment in New York Rifle & Pistol Ass’n v. Bruen. Since Bruen, courts around the country have struck down nearly all types of firearm regulations, with a notable exception: felon-in-possession laws. The collaborations between domestic and sexual violence victim-serving agencies (DSVAs) and law enforcement agencies help connect victims of crime to needed services. To maximize the benefits of these victim-serving initiatives in Virginia, it is imperative that victim-serving agencies understand the perceptions and factors that influence the decision-making of law enforcement administrators. จุดมุ่งหมายหลักของการวิจัยเชิงปริมาณครั้งนี้ คือ การศึกษาความสัมพันธ์เชิงเหตุผลระหว่างพฤติกรรมการเปิดรับความหลากหลายทางวัฒนธรรมกับระดับการยินยอมให้ผู้อพยพเข้ามาในเอเชียตะวันออกของ พลเมืองที่อาศัยอยู่ในพื้นที่ดังกล่าว ผู้วิจัยเลือกใช้แหล่งข้อมูลทุติยภูมิจากฐานข้อมูลด้านวัฒนธรรมของคลังข้อมูลการสำรวจทางสังคมในเอเชียตะวันออก (EASSDA) ฐานข้อมูลดังกล่าวเกิดจากการเก็บรวบรวมข้อมูลของกลุ่มตัวอย่างในภูมิภาคดังกล่าวจำนวน 4 ประเทศ ได้แก่ จีน ญี่ปุ่น เกาหลีใต้ และไต้หวัน ซึ่งมีจำนวนตัวอย่างรวมทั้งหมด 9,029 ราย เมื่อพิจารณาถึงผลการวิเคราะห์สถิติเชิงพรรณนา กลุ่มตัวอย่างโดยส่วนใหญ่ยังไม่เปิดรับความหลากหลายทางวัฒนธรรมเท่าที่ควร และยินยอมระดับน้อยที่จะให้มีผู้อพยพเข้ามาในภูมิภาคของตน ในส่วนของผลการวิเคราะห์ สถิติเชิงอนุมานด้วยเทคนิคการวิเคราะห์การถดถอยพหุด้วยแบบจำลองโพรบิต ผู้วิจัยพบว่า พฤติกรรมการเปิดรับความหลากหลายทางวัฒนธรรมเกือบทุกรูปแบบ (ยกเว้นการเปิดรับสื่อต่างประเทศ) ได้แก่ การพูดคุยเกี่ยวกับ ประเด็น/ปัญหาระหว่างประเทศกับผู้อื่น การเดินทางไปต่างประเทศ และการมีคนรู้จักเป็นชาวต่างชาติ ต่างเป็นปัจจัยที่มีอิทธิพลเชิงบวกต่อการยินยอมระดับมากที่จะให้มีผู้อพยพเข้ามาในภูมิภาคดังกล่าวอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติ นอกจากนี้ ผลการวิเคราะห์แสดงให้เห็นว่า ระดับการศึกษาที่เพิ่มสูงขึ้นมีอิทธิพลเชิงบวกต่อการยินยอมระดับมากที่จะให้มีผู้อพยพในพื้นที่ของตน แต่ในทางตรงกันข้าม การยึดมั่นในความเป็นชาตินิยมเป็นอย่างมากเข้าข่ายเป็นอุปสรรคอย่างหนึ่งต่อการยินยอมระดับมากที่จะให้มีผู้อพยพเข้ามาในภูมิภาคดังกล่าวอย่างเห็นได้ชัด

ประเทศประชาธิปไตยทั้งหลายถือว่า บทบาทของรัฐสภาในการจัดทำและควบคุมงบประมาณของรัฐเป็นเรื่องสำคัญและไม่อาจทดแทนด้วยกลไกอื่นได้ แต่ในช่วงกว่าหนึ่งศตวรรษที่ผ่านมา ฝ่ายบริหารมีบทบาทนำในการจัดทำงบประมาณของรัฐ เมื่อไม่นานมานี้เองที่รัฐสภาในประเทศต่าง ๆ รวมทั้งรัฐสภาไทย เริ่มตื่นตัว และปรับปรุงกระบวนการงบประมาณของรัฐสภา เพื่อกระชับอำนาจของรัฐสภาในการควบคุมงบประมาณให้มากขึ้น หนึ่งในเครื่องมือที่ฝ่ายนิติบัญญัติในประเทศต่าง ๆ นำมาใช้ในการเสริมสร้างความเข้มแข็งในทำหน้าที่ควบคุมงบประมาณของรัฐ คือ การจัดตั้งสำนักงบประมาณของรัฐสภาขึ้น บทความวิจัยนี้ต้องการศึกษาบทบาทของสำนักงบประมาณของรัฐสภาไทย ตลอดจนถึงผลสืบเนื่องที่เกิดจากการจัดตั้งสำนักงบประมาณของรัฐสภาต่อการกระชับอำนาจในการควบคุมงบประมาณของรัฐสภา ผู้วิจัยได้สำรวจเอกสารสัมภาษณ์ บุคลากรของสำนักงบประมาณของรัฐสภา สมาชิกสภาผู้แทนราษฎร ข้าราชการฝ่ายบริหาร และจัดประชุมเชิงปฏิบัติการและการสัมมนา เพื่อสอบทานข้อมูลและแปลความหมายข้อมูลร่วมกับผู้ให้ข้อมูลหลักที่เกี่ยวข้องกับกระบวนการงบประมาณของรัฐสภา บทความวิจัยนี้บ่งชี้ว่า สำนักงบประมาณของรัฐสภามีส่วนสนับสนุนให้กระบวนการงบประมาณของฝ่ายนิติบัญญัติมีความเข้มแข็งมากขึ้น และมีส่วนช่วยให้รัฐสภาควบคุมงบประมาณของรัฐได้เพิ่มขึ้นระดับหนึ่ง น่าสังเกตว่า สำนักงบประมาณของรัฐสภาได้ใช้ความสามารถของหน่วยงานในการทำหน้าที่จนถึงขีดจำกัดสูงสุดที่สามารถทำได้ แต่ก็ยังไม่สามารถทำหน้าที่ที่ได้รับมอบหมายได้ครอบคลุมครบถ้วนทุกด้าน รัฐสภาจึงควรแสวงหาแนวทางในการพัฒนาขีดความสามารถของสำนักงบประมาณของรัฐสภาให้เพิ่มขึ้น

การศึกษานี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ (1) ศึกษาภาพลักษณ์รูปแบบการสื่อสารกลยุทธ์การทูตของจีน และศึกษาการตลาดเชิงเนื้อหาผ่านเกม Arena of Valor และ Honor of Kings (2) เปรียบเทียบความสอดคล้อง และความแตกต่างของทั้ง 2 เกม และ (3) เสนอแนะแนวทางในการพัฒนาเนื้อหา รูปแบบการสื่อสาร และกลยุทธ์การทูตผ่านอีสปอร์ตให้หน่วยงานที่เกี่ยวข้องทั้งภาครัฐและเอกชน ด้วยระเบียบวิธีการวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพโดย การวิจัยเอกสาร (documentary research) และการวิเคราะห์เนื้อหาที่ถูกนำเสนอบนเฟซบุ๊ก 4 เพจ ได้แก่ Honor of Kings, HoK Global Esports, Garena RoV Thailand, และ KingSauce Legends รวบรวมได้ ทั้งหมด 5,300 โพสต์  ผลการศึกษาพบว่า (1) รูปแบบการสื่อสารและการนำเสนอเนื้อหาของเกม Honor of Kings และ Arena of Valor มีความแตกต่างกันตามวัตถุประสงค์ของแต่ละเพจเกม Honor of Kings เน้นการนำเสนอให้เห็นถึงรูปแบบการเล่น การประกาศเปิดให้บริการในต่างประเทศ โดยใช้ตัวละครภายในเกมเป็นตัวนำเสนอผ่านรูปแบบวิดีโอความยาวประมาณ 1-3 นาที ด้านกิจกรรมการแข่งขันอีสปอร์ตและเงื่อนไขการแข่งขันของเกม Honor of Kings นำเสนอโดยการใช้ภาพนิ่งของนักกีฬาและภาพอินโฟกราฟิก (Infographic) ในขณะที่เกม Arena of Valor เน้นการนำเสนอเพื่อโฆษณาสินค้าและบริการของเกม รวมถึงการสร้างชุมชนผู้เล่น (communities) ผ่านการใช้ภาพนิ่งและผู้ทรงอิทธิพลออนไลน์ (influencer) (2) การนำเสนอเกม Honor of Kings สามารถสะท้อนภาพของวัฒนธรรมและความสร้างสรรค์ (creativity) เนื่องจากผู้ให้บริการเกมเป็นบริษัทภายในประเทศจีนที่ดำเนินนโยบายของบริษัทตามนโยบายของกระทรวงวัฒนธรรม (Ministry of Cultural) ของประเทศจีน ในขณะที่การนำเสนอเนื้อหาของเกม Arena of Valor ดำเนินการจากผู้ให้บริการภายนอกประเทศจีน จึงไม่ได้ดำเนินนโยบายของบริษัทตามทิศทางของกระทรวงวัฒนธรรม (Ministry of Cultural) …

บทความวิจัยนี้ศึกษานโยบายกัญชาของประเทศไทยภายในทิศทางเป็นเสรีนิยมมาก มีข้อกังวลเกี่ยวกับการใช้กัญชาในประเทศไทย และมีความสับสนในความพยายามย้อนกลับไปเป็นอนุรักษนิยมอีกครั้งด้วย จุดประสงค์ศึกษากระบวนการนโยบายกัญชาของประเทศไทยในรายละเอียด มีคำถามวิจัยว่า นโยบายกัญชาของไทยมีลักษณะอย่างไร มีสมมติฐานว่า มีข้อห่วงใยอย่างมากในนโยบายลักษณะเสรีนิยมนี้มีความสับสนที่นโยบาย อาจย้อนกลับเป็นอนุรักษนิยมอีกครั้ง และมีการเมืองอยู่ภายในกระบวนการนโยบายกัญชา งานวิจัยใช้แนวคิดด้านความไม่แน่นอนทางวิทยาศาสตร์และความชาญฉลาดของประชาธิปไตยเป็นกรอบการศึกษา ประกอบการวิเคราะห์ตอบคำถามวิจัย ขอบเขตด้านเวลาในการศึกษาอยู่ระหว่าง พ.ศ. 2561-2567 งานวิจัยใช้ข้อมูลทุติยภูมิในการศึกษาประกอบด้วย หลักฐานการรายงานของสื่อมวลชนถึงกระบวนการนโยบายกัญชาไทย และเอกสารนโยบายสาธารณะด้านกัญชา เช่น ประกาศกระทรวง สำหรับข้อค้นพบและการวิเคราะห์ บทความวิจัยถกแถลงถึงความกำกวมในการเป็นสารเสพติดเป็นลักษณะของพืชกัญชา ที่อธิบายด้วยแนวคิดความไม่แน่นอนทางวิทยาศาสตร์ กัญชาได้รับการตีความว่าสามารถใช้ได้ทั้งในทางการแพทย์และในทางสันทนาการด้วย เกิดข้อห่วงใย และจำเป็นต้องติดตามดูแลการแพร่หลายของผลิตภัณฑ์กัญชาในอาหาร งานวิจัยวิเคราะห์อภิปรายการเมืองภายในนโยบายกัญชาของประเทศไทย เช่น ความพยายามผลักดันให้นโยบายกลับไปเป็นอนุรักษนิยมอีกครั้ง เป็นอีกส่วนหนึ่งของความสับสนของนโยบาย และงานวิจัยถกแถลงว่าความชาญฉลาดของประชาธิปไตยมีความสำคัญในการขับเคลื่อนกระบวนการนโยบายกัญชา

งานวิจัยมีวัตถุประสงค์หลักเพื่อศึกษาลักษณะพฤติกรรมการเล่นพนันออนไลน์บนแอปพลิเคชันโทรศัพท์มือถือในกลุ่มผู้สูงอายุ ปัจจัยที่เกี่ยวข้องที่ทำให้ผู้สูงอายุเกิดแรงจูงใจในการเล่นพนันออนไลน์บนโทรศัพท์มือถือ และผลกระทบด้านต่าง ๆ ที่เกิดขึ้นกับผู้สูงอายุที่นิยมเล่นพนันออนไลน์ งานวิจัยเป็นการวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพ เก็บข้อมูลด้วยวิธีการชาติพันธุ์วรรณนาในกลุ่มผู้สูงอายุหลากหลายกลุ่มที่เล่นพนันออนไลน์ งานวิจัยมีข้อค้นพบสำคัญ คือ ผู้สูงอายุที่เล่นพนันออนไลน์สามารถแบ่งออกได้เป็น 2 กลุ่มใหญ่ ได้แก่ 1) กลุ่มผู้สูงอายุที่นิยมเล่นการพนันเป็นทุนเดิมอยู่แล้ว 2) กลุ่มผู้สูงอายุที่ไม่เคยเล่นการพนันอย่างจริงจังมาก่อน แต่เล่นพนันออนไลน์ด้วยเหตุผลว่ามีเวลาว่างและคาดหวังรายได้เพิ่ม ปัจจัยที่สร้างแรงจูงใจมีอยู่ 4 ปัจจัยหลัก คือ 1) ความชื่นชอบเล่นพนันเป็นทุนเดิม 2) วิถีชีวิตของผู้สูงอายุ 3) รายได้ที่ลดลงหลังเกษียณ 4) กลยุทธ์การตลาด ส่วนผลกระทบด้านต่าง ๆ ที่เกิดขึ้นกับผู้สูงอายุที่นิยมเล่นพนันออนไลน์ ผู้สูงอายุประเมินตนเองว่าไม่ได้รับผลกระทบรุนแรงที่ชัดเจน มีผู้สูงอายุจำนวนน้อยได้รับผลกระทบด้านจิตใจและความสัมพันธ์ในครอบครัว

บทความวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ 1) ศึกษาระดับการจัดสวัสดิการสังคมและการพัฒนาคุณภาพชีวิตผู้สูงอายุในเขตพื้นที่เทศบาลเมืองเพชรบุรี 2) ศึกษาการจัดสวัสดิการสังคมที่ส่งผลต่อการพัฒนาคุณภาพชีวิตผู้สูงอายุในเขตพื้นที่เทศบาลเมืองเพชรบุรี 3) เสนอแนวทางการจัดสวัสดิการสังคมที่เหมาะสมต่อการพัฒนาคุณภาพชีวิตผู้สูงอายุในเขตพื้นที่เทศบาลเมืองเพชรบุรี จังหวัดเพชรบุรี ระเบียบวิธีวิจัยแบบผสมผสานวิธี ในเชิงปริมาณ กลุ่มตัวอย่าง คือ ผู้สูงอายุในเขตเทศบาลเมืองเพชรบุรี จำนวน 374 คน ด้วยตัวอย่างแบบแบ่งชั้น เครื่องมือที่ใช้ คือ แบบสอบถาม สถิติที่ใช้ในการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูล ได้แก่ ร้อยละ ค่าเฉลี่ย ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน และการวิเคราะห์การถดถอยพหุคูณแบบขั้นตอน ส่วนวิธีวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพใช้แบบ สัมภาษณ์เชิงลึกกับผู้ให้ข้อมูลสำคัญ จำนวน 20 คน โดยเลือกแบบเจาะจงจากปลัดเทศบาลเมืองเพชรบุรี เจ้าหน้าที่กองสวัสดิการสังคมเทศบาลเมืองเพชรบุรี และตัวแทนผู้สูงอายุในชุมชน ผลการวิจัยพบว่า 1) การจัดสวัสดิการสังคมผู้สูงอายุและผลการพัฒนาคุณภาพชีวิตผู้สูงอายุโดยภาพรวมอยู่ในระดับมาก 2) ปัจจัยทางการจัดสวัสดิการสังคมที่ส่งผลต่อการพัฒนาคุณภาพชีวิตผู้สูงอายุในเขตพื้นที่เทศบาลเมืองเพชรบุรี จังหวัดเพชรบุรี มีค่าสัมประสิทธิ์ถดถอย (R) = 0.728 ซึ่งส่งทางบวกทุกตัว มีประสิทธิภาพในการทำนาย ร้อยละ 53.10 นำมาเขียนเป็นสมการถดถอยได้ดังนี้ tot = 0.271 (X4) + 0.241 (X3) + 0.143 (X2) และ 3) แนวทางการจัดสวัสดิการสังคมที่เหมาะสมต่อการพัฒนาคุณภาพชีวิตผู้สูงอายุ คือ 1) ควรส่งเสริมกิจกรรมการสร้างสายสัมพันธ์ในครอบครัว 2) ควรจัดตั้งศูนย์บริการผู้สูงอายุเพื่อแก้ปัญหาผู้สูงอายุที่อยู่ลำพัง 3) ควรจัดตั้งศูนย์เพื่อดูแลผู้สูงอายุที่ไม่สามารถช่วยเหลือตัวเองได้ และ 4) ควรจัดกิจกรรมที่สอดคล้องกับความต้องการของแต่ละช่วงอายุ

บทความฉบับนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาสภาวะของบริการด้านสุขภาพ และการเข้าถึงของระบบราชทัณฑ์ไทยในการดูแลแบบประคับประคองและการดูแลในวาระท้าย โดยอาศัยแนวคิดสิทธิมนุษยชน สิทธิผู้ต้องขัง แนวคิดการดูแลแบบประคับประคอง และกรอบข้อบังคับระดับสากลและข้อกฎหมายระดับประเทศ ทั้งนี้ ยังมุ่งศึกษาแนวทางการให้บริการด้านสุขภาพในมิติของการดูแลในระยะท้าย ความต้องการของผู้ต้องขังสูงวัยในเรือนจำ และรูปแบบการจัดการกับการตายในเรือนจำ ผ่านกลไกของราชทัณฑ์ไทยที่มีทีมสหวิชาชีพต่าง ๆ เข้ามาให้บริการผู้ต้องขังในระยะท้าย การศึกษาครั้งนี้อาศัยการวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพ และมีข้อค้นพบประการสำคัญว่า สภาพความเป็นอยู่ของผู้ต้องขังป่วยต้องเผชิญความยากลำบากในเรือนจำ ซึ่งส่งผลให้เกิดความเสี่ยงต่อความเจ็บป่วยได้ง่าย สภาพแวดล้อมของเรือนจำไม่สอดรับกับวัยสูงอายุ อย่างไรก็ตาม ผู้ต้องขังสูงวัยในวาระท้ายของชีวิตได้รับบริการทางการแพทย์ที่มีมาตรฐานสากลเทียบเท่าการรักษาในโรงพยาบาลภายนอก ด้วยทีมสหวิชาชีพที่มีความเชี่ยวชาญ ทั้งยังมีบริการระบบการให้เยี่ยมออนไลน์สำหรับผู้ต้องขังในวาระท้ายในเรือนจำ และความต้องการในวาระสุดท้ายของชีวิตผู้ต้องขังในเรือนจำ คือ การได้ “กลับบ้าน” ที่นับเป็นข้อค้นพบสำคัญ และเป็นความหวังสุดท้ายก่อนสิ้นลมหายใจ

งานศึกษานี้ประเมินค่าตัวคูณทางการคลังโดยอาศัยกระบวนการทางเศรษฐมิติที่เป็นที่ยอมรับวงกว้างในปัจจุบัน โดยทดลองใช้ข้อมูลสะท้อนการใช้จ่ายของรัฐบาลที่แตกต่างกัน 5 ลักษณะ งานศึกษาพบว่าค่าตัวคูณการใช้จ่ายของรัฐบาลอยู่ที่ 0.25-0.49 ซึ่งมีค่าต่ำกว่า 1 อย่างชัดเจน ค่าตัวคูณดังกล่าวสะท้อนความไม่มีประสิทธิภาพของมาตรการกระตุ้นเศรษฐกิจของประเทศไทย ซึ่งเป็นประเทศเศรษฐกิจเปิดขนาดเล็กและมีสัดส่วนของภาคเศรษฐกิจนอกระบบในระดับสูง ทั้งนี้ ค่าตัวคูณการใช้จ่ายของรัฐบาลดังกล่าวประเมินขึ้นจากข้อมูลการเบิกจ่ายงบประมาณประจำปีของรัฐบาลที่มิได้คำนวณรวมการเบิกจ่ายงบประมาณในส่วนของการชำระคืนต้นเงินกู้และรายจ่ายเพื่อชดใช้เงินคงคลัง/ชดใช้ทุนสำรองจ่าย ซึ่งมีความสอดคล้องการดำเนินมาตรการรักษาเสถียรภาพทางเศรษฐกิจของรัฐบาลในทางปฏิบัติมากกว่าข้อมูลที่ถูกนำมาใช้ประเมินค่าตัวคูณทางการคลังในงานศึกษาในอดีต

การสังเคราะห์ภาวะความเป็นเจ้าบ้านบนพื้นฐานของการวิจัยสังคมเชิงประจักษ์ : กรณีศึกษามุมมองเกี่ยวกับผู้อพยพเข้ามาในพื้นที่ปลายทางยอดนิยมของทวีปยุโรป, ศิริพงศ์ ปาลกะวงศ์ ณ อยุธยา

จุดมุ่งหมายหลักของงานวิจัยนี้คือการสังเคราะห์นิยามและองค์ประกอบของแนวคิด “ภาวะความเป็นเจ้าบ้าน” ซึ่งมีรากฐานจากผลการวิเคราะห์ความสัมพันธ์เชิงพหุระหว่างทัศนคติต่อผู้อพยพเข้ามาในประเทศของตนกับภูมิหลังทางประชากร การเมือง และสังคม ของเจ้าบ้านในพื้นที่ปลายทางยอดนิยมของทวีปยุโรป โดยใช้ข้อมูลจากฐานข้อมูลการสำรวจทางสังคมชาวยุโรป ผลการสังเคราะห์แสดงให้เห็นว่าภาวะความเป็นเจ้าบ้านคือภาวะทางจิตสังคมอย่างหนึ่ง ซึ่งมีลักษณะเป็นทั้งสำนึกร่วมทางสังคมและความพึงพอใจส่วนบุคคลในฐานะเจ้าบ้าน เกี่ยวกับการยึดถือและปฏิบัติตามเป้าหมายและแนวปฏิบัติว่าด้วยการอาศัยอยู่ร่วมกับผู้อื่นในสังคมอย่างสันติ เพื่อนำไปสู่การเปิดใจยอมรับและให้การต้อนรับผู้อพยพอย่างมีไมตรีจิต นอกจากนี้ บุคคลที่มีทัศนคติเชิงบวกต่อผู้อพยพหรือมีภาวะความเป็นเจ้าบ้านอย่างเด่นชัด ประกอบด้วยคุณสมบัติสำคัญ 6 ประการ ได้แก่ 1) การมีส่วนร่วมทางการเมือง 2) การได้รับการตอบสนองความต้องการพื้นฐานอย่างเพียงพอ 3) การมีทักษะการคิดเชิงวิพากษ์อย่างรอบด้าน ตลอดจนรู้เท่าทันอารมณ์และความรู้สึก 4) การคำนึงถึงผลประโยชน์สาธารณะและผลประโยชน์ส่วนตัวอย่างสมดุล 5) การไม่ยึดติดกับอัตลักษณ์ของตน/พวกพ้องมากเกินไป และ 6) การมีความเห็นอกเห็นใจ/เข้าใจความรู้สึกของผู้อื่น รวมถึงมีมนุษยธรรมและให้ความสนใจแก่สิ่งรอบตัว

บทความวิชาการนี้เป็นการศึกษาอิสระ ที่มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาวิเคราะห์ชาวสิงคโปร์เชื้อสายอินเดียในฐานะชุมชนลำดับที่ 3 ภายใต้บริบทนโยบายพหุวัฒนธรรม โดยศึกษาบูรณาการด้านประวัติศาสตร์ สังคมวัฒนธรรม และรัฐศาสตร์ มุ่งพิจารณาถึงการเลือกตั้งทั่วไปกับการเลือกตั้งประธานาธิบดี ผลการศึกษาในครั้งนี้ได้แสดงให้เห็นว่า ก) สิงคโปร์เปิดพื้นที่เชิงอำนาจทางการเมืองการปกครอง เชื้อสายอินเดียได้เข้าถึงอำนาจฝ่ายนิติบัญญัติผ่านการเลือกตั้งทั่วไป ระบบกำหนดให้มีเขตเลือกตั้งแบบรายกลุ่มที่มีเชื้อสายอินเดียเป็นสมาชิก (ตั้งแต่ ค.ศ. 1988) ในปัจจุบันสังกัดอยู่ในทั้งฝ่ายรัฐบาลและฝ่ายค้าน แต่การสร้างกลุ่มที่มีเชื้อสายตามอุดมการณ์และดำเนินตามนโยบายก็เป็นเรื่องยาก ข) ชุมชนเชื้อสายอินเดียมีประวัติศาสตร์ที่ได้เข้าถึงตำแหน่งระดับสูงในฝ่ายรัฐบาล และการได้เข้าถึงตำแหน่งที่มีอำนาจสูงสุดห้าในหกตำแหน่ง นั่นคือ ประธานาธิบดี รัฐมนตรีอาวุโส รองนายกรัฐมนตรี หัวหน้าผู้พิพากษาสูงสุด และประธานรัฐสภา อย่างไรก็ดี ชาวสิงคโปร์เชื้อสายอินเดียยังไม่ได้เข้าถึงตำแหน่งนายกรัฐมนตรี ซึ่งเชื้อสายจีนมีจารีตสืบทอดในตำแหน่งนี้มาโดยตลอด
