Having an adequate supply of nurses is critical to maintaining the health care system. The problem for this study was that undergraduate nursing students were leaving a local Midwest community college’s nursing program before obtaining a degree. The purpose of this qualitative study was to explore the perceptions of the program’s recent graduates, regarding nonacademic factors that they believe helped to facilitate their success. Jeffreys’s nursing universal retention and success model served as the conceptual framework. Current literature on compassion fatigue is expansive, but there is a lack on the relationship between compassion fatigue and general health complaints in oncology nurses; how they perceive compassion fatigue and its relation to their general health. Using Pender’s health promotion model, this mixed methods study addressed how oncology nurses perceive compassion fatigue and whether a correlation exists between compassion fatigue and general health complaints. AbstractCatheter associated urinary tract infections (CAUTIs) are infections that happen in the urinary tract in men and women when foley catheterization is not done using strict aseptic techniques. Bacteria can then travel up the urinary catheter into the bladder; therefore, contaminating urine in the bladder. Some hospital administrators experience yearly loss of human capital, resulting in economic and noneconomic consequences that require resource reallocation to sustain operations. Grounded in the cultural humility theory, the purpose of this quantitative correlational study was to examine the relationship between nurses’ perceptions of their nurse managers’ (a) openness, (b) self-awareness, (c) egolessness, (d) self-reflection and critique, (e) supportive interaction, and nurse turnover intention. Background: The demands of rigorous nursing education programs often cause students to experience high levels of stress and anxiety during their schooling. Moderate to high academic stress and anxiety levels impact nursing students around the world. This is significant as academic stress and anxiety contribute to decreased academic success, program completion, and student health.

Objective: The National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) launched the next- generation NCLEX (NGN) in April 2023. Pre-licensure nursing faculty are unprepared for the change in teaching and evaluating nursing students' clinical judgment skills. COVID-19 exacerbated health disparities, financial insecurity, and occupational safety for many within marginalized populations. This study, which took place between 2019 and 2022, aimed to explore the way in which sex workers (n = 36) in Chicago were impacted by COVID-19. We analyzed the transcripts of 36 individual interviews with a diverse group of sex workers using thematic analysis. Alcohol abuse, complicated by a dependency relationship, is the third leading modifiable cause of death in the United States. In patients with chronic alcohol use disorder who experience a sudden cessation or significant decrease in alcohol consumption, half will experience symptoms of alcohol withdrawal syndrome. Benzodiazepines are the typical first line treatment for alcohol withdrawal. However, benzodiazepines carry with them significant risks and side effects. Purpose: An exploration of various resilience training programs to determine if there is a significant impact on the psychological resilience of health care professionals.
Method: An electronic systematic review using San Jose State University’s OneSearch database search engine was completed. The review contains published research articles between 2011-2022. Nine published articles were reviewed and used for this systematic review.
Results: There is limited data related to resilience training and resources in accredited nursing programs. Resilience training programs are both a feasible and acceptable way of building psychological resilience among interdisciplinary health care professionals.

Critical care nurses are providing care to acutely ill patients now more than ever and may experience moral or emotional distress due to providing end of life care to their patients. The purpose of this literature review is to determine the mental health effects of a critical care nurse providing palliative end of life care. A literature search using PubMed and CINHAL was conducted and fourteen published articles between 2012-2023 were included in this review. Standardization of patient discharges by utilizing a discharge checklist would address discharge barriers, improve discharge times, enhance communication among the multidisciplinary team, and improve efficiency of care. A 5-week pilot, which was a quality improvement study, explored whether the utilization of a discharge checklist would improve discharge times and communication among the multidisciplinary team. This study was conducted in a northern California county hospital, on 2 medical- surgical units, with a participating physician team, case managers, and approximately 150 medical- surgical registered nurses. Purpose: This systematic review seeks to explore whether utilizing Eat, Sleep, Console (ESC) over the Finnegan Neonatal Abstinence Scale (FNASS) in the neonatal abstinence syndrome (NAS) population decreases length of stay or pharmacological interventions.
Method: Systematic literature review utilizing CINAHL, PubMed and Google Scholar databases.
Results: Utilizing Eat Sleep Console, over FNASS decreased length of stay and pharmacologic intervention.
Conclusions: There is compelling research suggesting a change in NAS treatment from FNASS to ESC with a decrease in length of stay and pharmacologic intervention. However, there is an opportunity for further studies providing higher levels of evidence as the current …
