The National League for Nursing called for implementing innovative teaching strategies in nursing education. Concept-based teaching (CBT) is a method that encourages learners to interpret, analyze, and integrate knowledge. Despite reports that CBT improves student outcomes and enhances critical thinking, the adoption of CBT is slow. This qualitative descriptive study, guided by Rogers’s diffusion of innovations theory, explored how nurse educators have experienced implementing CBT. Secondary data were analyzed from interviews conducted with 13 participants. A metabolic illness known as diabetes mellitus (DM) is brought on by the body's decreased secretion and/or activity of the hormone insulin. The condition worsens, pathological alterations in the body, such as nephropathy, retinopathy, and cardiovascular problems, become inevitable. Type I and II DM are the two primary subtypes of DM. Oral hypoglycaemics are used to treat type II diabetes, while insulin replacement therapy is typically used to treat type I diabetes. Patients typically receive dual drug treatments. The purpose of this qualitative study was to evaluate the effects of curricular changes made to foster graduate students' understanding of how they can be catalysts of change. For more than a decade, the concept of the citizen nurse has been woven into coursework in nursing education, thus indicating an evaluation process was needed.

Method:

Ten oral history interviews were completed with current students or alumni. Data were analyzed for codes, allowing the final themes to emerge.

Increased utilization and prolonged dwell times of indwelling urinary catheters (IUCs) are directly related to the risk of catheter-associated urinary tract infections (CAUTIs)- the fifth most common type of healthcare associated infection (HAI). The National Health and Safety Network (NHSN) uses the Standardized Utilization Ratio (SUR) metric to measure and compare device utilization in acute care hospitals across the nation. The national target SUR benchmark is 1.0, and a SUR under 1.0 indicates less device usage than NHSN predicts on an inpatient unit. In 2022 a Neuro Med-Surg unit experienced an overall SUR of 1.047 with 2 CAUTIs observed. A …
