Burnout among novice nurse educators contributes to increased rates of faculty turnover and vacancies in nursing education. This is especially significant in rural settings. This quality improvement project aimed to determine the impact of mentorship on novice nurse educators’ perception of burnout at a rural community college in East Texas. Utilizing a mixed methods design, novice nurse educators with less than two years of academic nurse education experience were assigned experienced faculty mentors over an eight-week period. The Maslach Burnout Inventory-Educators Survey (MBI-ES) measured emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and personal accomplishment, both before and after the intervention. The purpose of the project was to provide Scott Trigger’s education to perioperative nurses for the reduction of perioperative HAPIs utilizing Scott Trigger's risk assessment tool and recommended interventions. Using a quantitative quasi-experimental design, the project consisted of two separate three-month data collection sets, one set collected pre-educational intervention, and the second set collected post-educational intervention. Patients diagnosed with heart failure are at an increased risk for readmission to the hospital within 30 days of discharge, and their care costs are projected to continue to increase. This Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) quality improvement (QI) project aimed to implement an evidence-based initiative to mitigate the increased heart failure 30-day readmission rate on a 30-bed medical-surgical telemetry unit in an acute care facility. Following a 16% increase in patient falls from 2023 to 2024 in an inpatient psychiatric detoxification unit, a quality improvement education project was implemented to assess the impact of an evidence-based fall prevention bundle on fall rates and nursing compliance. Nurses received education through a PowerPoint presentation to enhance understanding and implementation of the bundle, which included Edmonson reassessments after high-risk medication administration, ISHAPED bedside shift handoffs, care plan updates, and SWIFT daily safety huddles. The aim of this staff education project was to improve provider knowledge on using the Geriatric Depression Scale (GDS) for screening depression in older adults. Geriatric depression is often underdiagnosed due to atypical symptoms and reliance on generalized tools such as the Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9), leading to delays in treatment and increased health care costs. Introduction

Empathic communication is crucial for clinicians when discussing palliative and end-of-life (PC/EOL) care with parents of children with cancer. Unfortunately, many parents report inadequate communication at these distressing times. This study evaluates the communication skills training (CST) clinicians received to deliver a PC/EOL communication intervention as part of a multi-site randomized-controlled trial (RCT). Training was provided using an in-person format and then adapted to a virtual platform to accommodate remote learners.

Delays in hospital discharge can negatively affect hospital throughput and bed capacity, resulting in increased length of stay and boarding of patients in off-unit locations which causes concerns for patient safety and potential harm (Rutherford et al., 2017).
